The process of creating any kind of magical item, no matter its size is a large undertaking. Mostly due to the amount of mana needed to give the item form, and purpose, also. It was difficult to create something like a regalia to be used by someone other.
Then the one that made it. Mainly because the kind of regalia he would need to make, to suppress Syrelia's Precognitive ability's, would require a significant amount of her personal mana in order for it to work properly.
Regalia being personal devices which can increase aspects of one's physical, mental, and mana manipulation ability's. Meant that simply making one as a present, and expecting it to even work as it was intended to be almost impossible. Simply put it would be difficult to proceed as thing, were now. So Lanthim began creating what he thought he would need.
Or at least what would likely succeed. Since he had never tried creating regalia for another, and there were few examples of such things actually happening in earlier history. All he could do was make the thing and hoped it worked.
He did not begin this work however, with any intention of leaving the work half finished. So until he knew the regalia was functioning within his required parameters. Mostly that her ability's were suppressed to an acceptable amount, he would not leave until then. The first order of business, would be to acquire something small enough. That he could create the regalia, then place it inside her body. So it could not be removed until she could control her ability's.
Finding something that met these criteria. In his mind would not be to difficult, until he realize that he would need an item. The size of a small coin or about 3 centimeters in diameter. In order for the regalia to be small enough for his uses. The problem then becomes placing the needed sequences, on something that small then providing it with the needed mana.
Looking at the coin he had acquired, Lanthim removed much of the inscriptions. Then the face of the empress that had been placed on it. Leaving a blank round chunk of metal.
'What a pain, figuring this little problem out will be interesting.' {Lanthim}
Sitting in the gardens with a gentle breeze on his face, Lanthim had the coin in his hand with a small sewing needle. To inscribe the magic sequences that would comprise the regalia. This process was as one would suspect, extremely time-consuming as well it required continued mana use. Mainly because the needle would be handled by the use of mana. So to ensure consistency and it was easier this way. The only downside was the unending boredom that resulted from this process.
The regalia itself was actually quite simple in its sequences, the most important of these was the mana channeling blockers. That sustained the flow of mana but would reduce the amount that was interacting with the brain. When it came to any kind of mental ability like reading minds telepathic communication and so on.
It was almost always caused by changes to the brain by increased mana interaction. Precognitive ability's sat on the extreme end of that scale and so. If one could lessen the interaction, frequency, and duration of a viewing. The damage over time, could be reduced if not completely suppressed.
Lanthim optimistically hoped for the latter of these. Still he would have to find a way to test, if it would even work in the first place.
Days passed slowly by, holding the coin now finished in his hand. Lanthim sat in one of the many sitting rooms, in the northern wing of the estate. Feeling exhausted from the amount of mana required to finish his work. he just sat looking at the coin.
"Ah, brother is here." [Syrelia]
A child's voice came from the other side of the door. Having nearly fallen asleep, Lanthim adjusted his seat before the door opened. A little girl in a blue dress came through the door followed by her caretaker. Harvalyn lookeing as if she hadn't slept the night before. Not that physically one could tell but Lanthim could sense it.
'Syralia had another nightmare last night.' {Lanthim}
He thought to himself feeling disturbed by the exhaustion felt by both of them. His sister looking cute as can be, in that blue dress her hair had been done up nicely and just carried herself as if everything was fine.
"Lia come sit with me a moment I have something to give you." [Lanthim]
He spoke calmly with a smile. Syrelia happy to please her big brother did as she was asked. To Harvalyn, however, this had always been strange to her, she like Lanthim's second caretaker Felyma, had served many families's before coming to work here. In every other instance regardless of age, the daughters always would remind their brothers of where they sat in the order of things. After coming here though she could see an extreme shift from such thinking. With the young master able to manipulate mana on a level she had not seen since her academy days. Her distrust of him and his actions was not unfounded.
"Young master, may I ask what you intend to do with your sister?" [Harvalyn]
She asked the boy in front of her.
"I intend to stop her nightmares." [Lanthim]
Spoke Lanthim as he placed the coin, that was still in his hand against Syrelia's neck just behind her ear. Almost as soon as the coin made contact with her flesh her mana began to react to it. Slowly the regalia began to take in mana. A faint glow could be seen from the magic sequences as they interacted with it.
"Brother something feels strange." [Syrelia]
Spoke Syrelia as she moved her head a little trying to understand the sensation.
"It is nothing serious just wait a little longer." [Lanthim]
Lanthim's reassuring calm voice filled the child, a feeling of security was sensed so he continued. Eventually, after about ten minutes and a very unhappy one-year-old they had finished.
The coin by this time had been completely dismantled by the massive amounts of mana going through it and all that was left was the regalia. It would work much like his own, meaning it would not require and activation mechanism in order to be activated.
"There we are all done now." [Lanthim]
Lanthim had a look on his face the screamed "I'm so damn tired."
Regardless he endured and passed his sister over to Harvalyn.
"I hope you will both be able to sleep well tonight." [Lanthim]
He said as he left the room with a smile.
Making his way to his rooms, the fatigue of using as much mana as he had been. Was beginning to take its toll. Laying on the bed feeling he had accomplished all that was needed to be done. Slowly he fell asleep.
