Jave straightened her self up from her bed, sat by her bedside table and stared into the mirror intently, not really focusing on her face but on the conversation she had the night before with her parents (adoptive parents).
Jave was an orphan for eight years, she lost her birth parents at four years of age.
Her father was an artist, while the mother was a simple baker who owned a small shop. Mostly what Jave could remember of them was that they loved her.
Mr Han(Javes father) store was robbed, not long later her mom died from a rear disease that plagued the town.
Her father was in denial for a year and half, and one night after putting Jave to sleep, he hung himself in the now empty store that used to be field with lines of colored paintings.
Jave was sent to a children's home where she stayed for two years, until the Parsleys adopted her.
Mr and Mrs Parsley adopted her not because they wanted a child, but for her to be their only daughters personal maid.
The Parsleys weren't bad people, but they never really treated Jave like their child and never let her call penialla( their daughter) her sister.
Penny was a sweet child, and had her mean side from her parents.
But she loved Jave like her big sister, and was always good to her and she shared everything with her.
Today Jave was getting married, she was 18 years old now, and was looking like a full grown woman.
Jave was brownskinned with flaming red her and a streak of rainbow color at the front, that always make people stare at her weirdly (the rainbow strang of hair was inherited from her mother).
The Parsleys made an arranged marriage for jave in other to make ends meet.
Mr William parsley used to own a vineyard, but lost it to some fellow in a bar because of his drinking habits.
Mrs Parsley never worked, so things were hard on her because she was used to being rich, she even became nastier.
The marriage was arranged with the towns mayor.
He was 38 years and had eyes for Jave ever since he saw her at their harvesting festival. In exchange for her, Mr Parsley would be given three vineyards.
So to save their necks they were literally selling Jave out.
Jave had no choice but to accept.
All her dreams seemed to have crumbled down, she wished her parents never died at that moment. Jave had always struggled to make peace with her dad's death, she felt he was selfish for the decision he made. She understood a bit now.
Life wasn't for the weak, her dad was weak. But she definitely wasn't.
Her dreams must have faded, but now she was going to live a better life, and her kids wouldn't have to suffer.
As her mind went on wondering about how her life would be like, penny burst in without knocking with tears in her eyes.
The girl was only ten, and didn't understand why jave was leaving her.
Penny was stuttering through the tears.
Don..nn't go...
I thought w..wwe'd be toge...ther always
You... Promised to teach me art, we..we haven't gone far
What a... about traveling to the...the cities in Terra,
Why...why
Jave was sad to see her sister cry, they both hugged and cried for some minutes.
No crying anymore sis, Jave said.
It's my wedding day, we don't want to scare the groom now, do we?
She said feigning a laugh.
You'll be fine, you're strong. Just like me, and me leaving doesn't mean I'm going to forget you. We'll write every week to each other. And you can come visit me too, I'm sure Mama and papa won't object.
But.. penny started.
No buts, why don't you help me get ready. The bride can't be too late on her own wedding day. What if someone else steals my groom.
I don't think that'll happen, penny laughed.
C'mon then, let's get ready together...
Jave applied less make-up and went out with her sis.
The parents were waiting outside, Penn didn't let go of her sisters hands till she was inside the carriage.
They went to the mayor's house. Jave was uneasy inside the carriage, she was a bit scared, Penn squeezed her hands tight.
Welcome the guard bellowed as Jave was led out of the carriage.
It was a simple wedding, only family members were present.
The mayor already had a first wife and a kid, which everyone was well aware about.
Mr Daniel was the town's mayor. He was a slim fine Man with well cut beards, brown eyes and was lightskinned.
The wedding went on smoothly.
Penny left the party to explore later.
The little girl played as she walked through the hallways.
Javeline is going away now, she mumbled to herself.
What is poor little penny supposed to do on her own now.
She let out a sigh and decided to examine the lines of paintings plastered on the wall.
There were pictures of every creature in Terra, most of them penny had only heard of in books. She recited the names of the creatures as she walked.
Ch....
Penny suddenly stopped, she saw the biggest painting in the hallway, it had every creature in it all together, she'd never seen anything more beautiful. She went close and touched it, then she saw an opening.
Oh she gasped, is there a door here.
Penny smiled mischievously and opened the painting with all her might, it revealed a door, which wasn't exactly like a door, more like wormhole.
Penny tried touching it, her hands went through.
There were purple Sparks
She giggled because it was kind of ticklish and went through.
It was silent at first, she was now standing in an empty room, more like a cave though.
She heard a trickling sound, not far off. There was a light coming from there.
The little girl very excited walk towards it, what she saw was marveling.
She thought, maybe big sis getting married wasn't so bad afterall.
Who better than anyone to show this new discovery, she immediately rushed out into the cave and through the purplish wormhole, stepped out quietly and pushed the huge painting back in place.
She ran back to the party excitedly.
