Chapter 1 - How it all began...

Iris

It is being said that deprivation of love lowers self regard.

You can take my example

"You need a man, Ri. I'm serious," Tati said as she handed me my hot chocolate. I have been said those words from almost everyone. Especially my mom. She has been worried that I haven't even lost my virginity at 16 just like her. Cause apparently, she was the hot topic. And now I'm a 21 years old deprived woman who can't even get a man of her own...

"Geez, like I haven't heard about that one in quite a while." I retort in sarcasm. I may sound mean and all but hey, she started this topic. And a very uncomfortable one if I may add.

"Hey, I'm just saying. You were the one who was crying the other night not me," she threw back as she headed back to the kitchen.

I grumbled in annoyance. I just personally hate losing to an argument or just about anything.

My name is Iris, I'm 21 years old I have never in my life been in relationship which is really bothering me. I guess it's always been like that.

Ever since I reached middle school, I became the type to set back from the crowd and hide under the shadows of popular kids. I never was invited to a single party or was invited just to hang out with a group of friends. Oh, that right, I never had any. But that was until I went to uni. Now I am living comfortably in my dormitory with Tati, a girl I met at the library. I know I know. Not the best place for a meeting.

But that's besides context.

"Either way you need to get out more often, girl. You'll never find a guy laying low like a mat," she said as she broke my moment of trance. She has been walking in and out of the kitchen before taking a seat next to me in my bedroom.

"It was never my intention to even find a guy. And besides, even if I do what would I do with him?" I questioned and took a sip from the mug. She gave me a 'don't lie to me' look and took a sip from her own mug.

"Welcome to the Belonging Season Show! I'm your host Billie Showman. Today is a special day, it's the beginning of the as Valentine's day is approaching, we are happy to announce that there will pick out our newbie guests for this entire season. So write your letter of request, send it through the link down below and keep your fingers crossed that this opportunity be given to you- bip!

I quickly switched off the television that was sitting near the desk sitting oppositely to my bed. I got back to my seat and continued sipping my cup of hot chocolate.

"Do you ever wonder if you would like to enter this kind of shows?"

I looked at her bewildered. "What kind of question is that?" I burst into laughter hysterically.

"No it's just a question. I mean, now I can't ask questions all of a sudden?" She defensively retorts.

I put my hands up in surrender. "Relax babe, just gave you my opinion."

You normally would never argue about this type of thing but I can assure you, this is a daily issue in my life.

"Really? I mean don't you really want a prince charming to roll around your door and greet you with the sweetest flowers and chocolates?" She raised her eyebrows surprised at my sense of honesty.

She just nodded in sign if understanding and went back to sipping her hot beverage.

Once I realized I finished the drink, I went back to the kitchen to get rid of the dish in the sink. I went back into my bedroom and sat by my bed, crisscrossing my legs. I pulled my laptop and got to work. I personally study in the psychiatric department, in medicine. It has been one of my favorite subjects to learn and probably one of the easiest. Honestly, I just work extra hard at my assignments and exams. I'm in 3rd year of study as an graduate.

"If you'll excuse me, I have some work to get to." I said as I started typing. I was currently under huge pressure as we were nearing the grand final exams of the whole course. I was expected to to pull this thing off. And I well I'm trying to keep my promise.

"Sure then. I get to catch up on some work." She gets up and heads back to her room in search of her own items. I'm praying we can make it through this entire college year. It's the last one and after this I intend to make it my best one.

Three Months Later At Graduation.

"Yes girl, you did it!" Tati swings her arm around my shoulder as we exit the decorated garden and head to our dormitory. I said my speech just like I thought I would have done, an utter disaster.

"Please don't bring that up. I had to face an utter humiliation going up that stage." I wave my hand off in sign of dismissal.

We entered the building and took the stairs leading toWe entered the building and took the stairs leading to our apartment. As we arrived, I came across a letter on the Welcome mat. "What's this doing here?" I pick it up and turn it around. It was a clean white envelop with fancy broderie on the sides. Surprisingly it had no name whatsoever on it.

I open it. And I swear this that never had I been more shocked .
