Howin kept speechless till the old man talked:
"-I thought you'd be happy when you find someone from your race.
-I don't care about first type cause…
-I am second type kid.
-does she know…well do they?" the blacked haired boy whispered starring down at his empty glass.
Gau smiled at him before he sighed and answered:
"-no…my guys promised with their lives not to tell them.
-but they trust you…a lot. You are kind of betraying them.
-says the one who left his king and came with one of the elite hunters to the end of the country with fogy roads that she could possibly kill him and dispose his body and no one will remember you.
-First I didn't left my king, he sent me and I can go to him any moment and…she won't do it though.
-yeah she may not but Ray definitely would." Gau didn't bother to glance at the trembling boy who broke the glass at the mention of Ray.
"-what are you trying to do exactly?
-help you.
-do I look that desperate to you?
-more than you could imagine…but mostly to prevent doing stupid shit that would break your heart.
-I don't have a heart so don't think I have feeling to Ellie more than friends.
-First stage of grief denial. You have to accept it.
-I don't love her or like her in any way.
-but you would risk your life for her even though you are rejected from her heart. Yeah definitely a sacrifice any close friends would do.
-fina…
-which means…you are deeply in love with her
-I SAID I AM NOT! IS IT TOO HARD FOR YOUR OLD HEAD TO UNDERSTAND!" he yelled at Gau, silence filled the room with eyes fixed on them two. Everyone was about to attack any moment at the young man sitting next to him.
Gau raised his hand and everyone went back to do their tasks.
"-second stage of grief…anger.
-I am done with your bullshit Gau.
-you are just stubborn Howin. Accept it.
-how is Gabi?
-changing the subject now…she is fine…she needs rest.
-did something happened when I left you there …cause you look ready to commit a murder any moment.
-they tried to kidnap her too when we all felt asleep.
-but how did you…" Howin looked at him narrowing his eyes then he shouted when a though hit his head:
"-you used your power while she was with you!" he jumped from his seat and everyone was glaring at his childish behavior. Gau pulled him back to avoid suspicious questions later and to not risk his identity reveal to the girl sleeping upstairs.
"-You really have something for shouting don't you?
-Care to explain old man." he sighed before finishing:
"- I didn't have a choice. She means the world to me.
-eww man! Look for someone your age." Howin commented shrugging his shoulders as if he got chills expressing his disgust. Gau slapped the back of his head and the young incubus winced in pain giving him a 'what did I do' look.
"-I love her like my daughter dumbass.
-And she loves you like her father…let me guess; you are blaming yourself for her father's death. SO…you try to protect her or did he made you promise to protect her.
-Did you read my mind just now?
-Well…I can …somehow, read first and second grade blood a little bit but I can't make the whole story why did…" Howin stopped to look at him with wide eyes and asked:
"-Why are you thinking about Ellie's father now? We were talking about Gabi and her father.
-old story I don't want to talk about it…have anyone told you it's rude to interfere in people's business.
-Blame my mom for the gift. But now…tell me the whole story Gau.
Six years ago,
"-what are we going to do sir?
-I don't know but we will find a way out?"
The red haired man reassured the worried farmer.
He was not better than him but he has to keep it calm.
It as midnight, they were having a secret meeting together. They discussed what they should do to stop those incubuses, they are threatening their lives, their kids are endangered and they would take them as slaves.
Their women couldn't sleep the night from fear and uncertain future. Their men…their men didn't knew what to do. They labeled themselves the protectors, the hunters, the courageous fighters. Yet they were trembling from fear, from the thought of meeting an incubus.
"-I think we should leave the village for good. That's the better solution." One of the man suggested.
"-No way in hell! This is our land since centuries. I won't allow you to leave it easily because bunch of cowards 'MEN' can't keep the promise." a women with fiery hair and intense eye protested earning every men's attention followed by anger.
"-honey please calm down…I promised you, we will protect it till our last breath.
-as you should Elio.
-now gentlemen I think…
-Elio! We have to hurry! Gabriel, his wife…incubus…house…"a man barged in yelling, he earned everyone's attention before he fainted.
The men didn't bother to check on him but they run to the most famous brigand.
Gabriel was fighting for his life and his family's.
His wife run upstairs and hide the little girl.
"-listen Gabi, no matter what happened don't get outside?
-but mom I …
-shhh…please my girl I want you to be strong for me just this time. Okay?" the mother patted her scared-to death daughter and closed the door behind her
But the incubus knocked him off and followed them up stairs.
The black-haired woman swallowed her salvia once she felt something sharp at the side of her neck.
"-where is the girl?
-I don't know.
-you shouldn't lie to me because I will kill her slowly in front of your eyes. And now WHERE'S IS SHE?
-trust me you don't need her. She is blind and barely can talk properly. She will be a loss and your boss would kill you for such a waste of time and effort.
-you think so." He asked her and she nodded not daring to move her eyes from the blade on her neck.
"-but you can see and speak properly…I guess I didn't waste my time for nothing after all.
-no… please.
-shut up and follow me."
He pulled her with him but he heard the bangs on the door. The incubus warned her with his mouth to not utter a sound and went back.
Gabi was trying to open the door but it was locked, she cried her eyes out but in vain. She collapsed on the ground hugging her legs tightly.
She heard the men's yell and she cheered up. She tried to look from the window while someone was struggling to open the door of the room.
She ran quickly and hided underneath the bed covering her sobs with her hand.
The incubus was dragging her mom forcefully making her stumble on her feet resisting his aggressive pulling.
He found the window open and stopped.
Her mother felt her heart sinking between her ribs.
She took deep breath silently not to draw any suspicion from her kidnapper.
"-afraid from heights. What a shame.
-it's quite high honestly but I want to see what would happen if someone jumped or better… get thrown from here. Don't you think so?" she didn't answer his dark tone and intensive eyes piercing through hers.
"-I am kidding. Calm down I won't risk my head for crazy experiment." He said ignoring the angry crowd outside. The black haired woman glanced with a warm smile on her lips at the petrified girl underneath the bed.
The incubus smirked before adding:
"-but it can include a little help from your little girl.
-I told you she is useless to you! She …
-blind and can't speak properly I am not death nor stupid. T hat's way it will be a great experience since she doesn't have to live such a pathetic life.
-She is not here.
-I can sense her.
-you won't find her." She said bravely and he chuckled before finishing
"-I can't…we will see about that." He pulled her hair and placed his blade on her throat.
"-I will count to three and if you don't show up… you will have to collect your mom's head little girl." The black haired woman payed that Gabi won't get out.
"-ONE…" he pushed the blade further making the woman yell from pain.
"-TWO…" he pushed more and blood soaked the mom's dress.
"-come on little girl. I advise you to not test my patience any more.
"-THREE…
