Belief,Faith, Trust...or even confidence in someone or something. That is the definition of belief. To be able to hold a clear semblance of hope that something is either true or what you perceive to be the case.
To believe you must at least have hope. So imagine if you were to see or hear something you had absolutely no semblance of belief in to be truth. That would truly be a shocking revelation.
"What was that thing?" I step towards Carson leaving only 3 feet between us. He looks at me like he doesn't want to say. But we both know it's too late to keep secrets. From the look he gave me he obviously has an ideal.
"That was a golem..I think." He scratched the back of his neck. A golem? I might've heard something about that in a fantasy book I read way back in high school.
"Isn't that suppose to be a man made from mud?" I watch as he quickly walked to his vehicle. "you expect me to believe that?"
"I don't care if you do. Get in." he enters the car and closes the door. i follow suit and get in the car.
"We gotta report this." i state. "We didn't find evidence of where the children are or were but this was still an incident and I'd think the captain---"
"The captain is most likely already aware the children wouldn't be there" he interrupts me. "I'm pretty sure he's trying to keep you from learning more about what happened at your home....whatever it was." He pulls off.
"How do you know that thing was a golem?" my question is logical considering no one should be able to witness or see anything that shouldn't exist unless he's going on descriptions from online or books."
"You could say I've dealt with things like that before. " yeah. apparently.
"okay....and the rock you shot? what's up with that?" He looked at me for a quick second and then back to the road. "
"look...." he started. "I gotta think....I'll answer your questions later alright?
I scoff at him. he drops bombshells and tell me to wait till later. the way he's acting it's almost as if hes mad about something. like he wasn't told something.
"yeah...." I agreed. Reluctantly. "alright."
On the way back into town I think of how crazy this all is. Honestly I'm confused. But im intelligent enough to accept what I saw. That was an individual object just I felt and knew wanted to kill us both. Its existence was clearly apart of my reality. Carson decided on not telling me what the stone was. Or how it did what it did. It was quite strange. Exactly what kind of rock kills a monster? It's as if everyone is asleep and yet living in some kind of fantasy world....and I just woke up to the reality of it.
