As Kai and Reyna continued heading eats the got to know each other better on the road. After 3 days they arrived at the eastern kingdoms first town it was called Fiore a town where all manner of creatures lived and traded it seemed more peaceful here than in Gruden.
Reyna: Be careful here is may seem that people get along here but the law is less strict and many disappear here without a trace.
Kai: Thanks for the heads up so where should we start asking around for this woman whose name I don't even know.
Reyna: Good question her name is Irene Scarlet.
Kai: Well good to know lets ask around for this Irene then.
(Kai and Reyna spend the entire day asking for anybody who would know the whereabouts of Irene but to no avail so with that they headed to the nearest inn for a place to rest for the night and continue there search in the morning)
Reyna: The Black Cat Inn hey, well it sounds shady to say the least.
Kai: Well this is the closest and I'm tired I just want to eat, bath and sleep. This Irene is like a needle in a hail storm it seems she's impossible to find.
Reyna: Well my champion no one said it would be easy.
Kai: Fair enough (Approaching the inn keeper, she is a lamia with ears like an elf but with red scales on and a beautiful lower half tail 6meters in length a crimson red colour). Excuse me miss.
Inn Keep: Well well someone with manners, my name is Mia. How may I help you?
Kai: I'd like to rent a room for the evening and a bath please.
Mia: Very well then, with one or two beds considering your company.
Kai: Two beds please ma'am.
Mia: I already told you call me Mia.
Kai: Apologies Mia, I would also like something to eat and drink.
Mia: All we have at the moment is eggs and bread.
Kai: that's fine with me I'll take two servings with water please.
Mia: Just chose a table well bring it to you in a moment.
(Kai choses a table in the corner as not to attract attention Reyna did not agree with this but it was in his habit to keep out of sight)
Reyna: I think the inn keeper likes you with her pretty green eyes, and also why did you pick this corner its like we are hiding from someone.
Kai: First of she does not and second it's a habit I like to keep out of sight best to avoid trouble this way.
Reyna: I suppose you have a point.
(After 10 minutes Mia brings the food and drink to Kai's table, as she was on her way she also served a demi human that had fox ears and a tail. After they had their food served a few moments later three human muscular men entered the inn all standing at 6feet to 6'5. A loud bunch to be sure maybe from the local crime boss).
Reyna: Looks like trouble just walked in here, I don't trust those men bandits are the worst.
Kai: Well you may have finished eating but I'm still busy we'll leave in a moment.
(The men are looking for trouble a inn full of humans and demi humans, they first pick on Mia pawing at her ripping her clothes open and exposing her chest to the bar, then they turn to the fox lady).
Man1: Well look here lads a disgusting demi human and a fox one at that.
Man3: Yeah almost looks human a shame for that tail and ugly ears.
Man2: How about we cut off her ears and tail then she will pass for human, don't worry love it will only hurt for a moment and a whats that to look human.
(Kai was already upset when the picked at Mia and exposed her to the bar, he moved quick to cover her up offering his cloak to her.)
Kai: You should cover up Mia, and Reyna hold on to my sword and stay with Mia here.
(Kai approached the three men they were busy picking at the fox girl.)
Fox woman: No please stop this I don't bother anyone leave me be.
Man1: (Hits her) shut it you half breed.
Kai: (In a calm voice.) Excuse me sir I would appreciate it if you could stop that you are disturbing everyone else who is trying to enjoy their food.
Man2: Well if we don't have a hero on our hands we think you should mind your own business unless you like demi humans with disgusting animal ears.
Kai: Well to be honest I do I think her ears are cute and fluffy.
Man1: Hold up boys we got a freak on our hands here.
(All their attention was on Kai now and they were ready for a fight now, the third man punches Kai in the face.)
Kai: (Turning his head back to the men blood running down from his mouth.) The first one was free and you waste it.
(Everyone in the inn was now focused on what was going on between Kai and the three men. The first man punches at Kai this time but he dodges and grabs his wrist and with a smooth motion uses his other hand to break the man's elbow, the second man comes from behind but Kai sees him in the corner of his eye and ducks he lets the first man go and turns to the second while the second loses his balance from his attempt to hit Kai, Kai uses his own momentum and grabs him behind the head and slams his head into the table shattering it, now only the third man remained, Kai looked him dead in the eye when the man charged Kai brings the man to his knees in a few strikes in front of the fox woman)
Kai: Now that you are on your knees why don't you beg for your life or at the very least beg so I don't break your arm like your friends and you might walk out of here with your life.
Man3: I'm sorry sir please …
Kai: (Interrupts him) No you got it wrong, you have to beg the lovely lady for her mercy.
Man3: What I'm not begging some demi…
Kai: (Applies pressure to the man's wrist) Come now you started very good earlier.
Man3: (In pain and fear in his eyes) I'm sorry for the way me and my friends treated you. There are you happy you mad man.
Kai: Not quite, you're supposed to say sorry my queen for harming and threatening you.
Man3: Very well ok, I'm sorry my fox queen for harming and threating you on behalf of me and my friends I'm terribly sorry. And to you inn keep I'm sorry.
(Kai lets the man go he gets to his friends and the leave the bar in a hurry)
Fox woman: T-Thank you sir, nobody has ever stood up for me before.
Kai: It was nothing really.
(Kai walks over to Mia, everyone staring at him they hae never seen someone take down three men so fast before.)
Kai: Sorry Mia for the mess, we best get going. This is a tip from the men for the damage. (Kai hands over a pouch full of gold coins)
Mia: That's not necessary, those men have always been a bother it's about time someone put them in their place. Your bath and room will be ready soon I hope you and your dragon will still spend the night.
Reyna: Off course we will he is my champion after all. (Reyna looks to Kai) lets go my champion to sleep.
Kai: I'm going to get a bath first.
(Kai heads to the bath while Reyna heads to bed for a good night's sleep. While Kai was in the bath he almost fell asleep from the warm water he was tired of walking and not getting the chance to recover since he was summoned it's been one thing after another. He exited the bath and headed to his room for a good night's rest so he could think clearly in the morning with a fresh mind to search for Irene.)
Mia: Good morning Kai
Kai: (Opens his eyes and the very first thing he sees is beautiful emerald eyes staring into his mud brown eyes) Good morning Mia!?!?
(Kai tries to move but is unable because Mia has wrapped her body around Kai and was holding him so tight he could barely breath, all of a sudden he hears a voice shouting ice breath attack and all of a sudden its winter in the room Reyna had used her ice attack and as a result Mia whom is cold blooded squeezed Kai harder until he passed out.)
Reyna: (In an concerned voice) See what you did you killed my champion my first champion in ages you killed Kai.
Mia: No I did not look he's still breathing.
Reyna: Just barely, where do you come from sneaking into people's beds while they are sleeping?
Mia: Well I am cold blooded and well I never do this but he looked so peaceful and warm (she blushes) and so handsome while sleeping I couldn't resist.
(Kai finally comes too and hears them both arguing, he decides to stop them and ask if Mia knows Irene)
Kai: Well ladies no need to keep fighting I'm still alive and in one peace.
Reyna: well good Kai you just started your journey it would be ashamed to die now.
Mia: Yes I agree and I'm so sorry for what I did and sneaking into your room.
Kai: No need to apologize it's not every day I wake up and the first thing I see is a lovely lady, hehehe.
Reyna: (Angry) Oh yeah right, should we not be focusing on more pressing matters?
Kai: (With a serious expression on his face) Yes Mia tell me do you know where Irene Scralet is I know she was exiled and headed east the only thing is we don't know where exactly she is.
Mia: Well It does seem I can trust you both she did pass through here and headed to the forbidden woods where arachnes live.
Kai: ( Cold in his face) You mean h-half s-spider half human right?
Mia: Yes but what seems to be the problem it looks as if you saw death itself and are terrified?
Kai: I HATE SPIDERS you see them one moment and then their gone the next and these are bigger which means the can and will eat me alive.
Reyna: Well I heard they are peaceful actually and choses to keep to themselves I'm sure if Irene went there she would be safe and they would know more of her.
Kai: Very well I guess we should go.
(Kai gets the provisions for the journey and Mia helps him pack, Kai and Reyna say there good byes and headed to the forbidden woods only a few days walk from town.)
Kai: Well another couple of days walking and you sitting on my shoulder, I hope we can find Irene in this forbidden woods so we can get everything in order and get out of there as fast as possible.
Reyna: Agreed but one thing, you really don't seem to like spiders and these arachne are half human you know that right.
Kai: I know let's just get there then we'll see
