CHAPTER 6
(Kai wakes up but this time on a soft bed and not some web dangling in it like a fly unfortunately he still wakes up without a shirt but his wounds have been treated and bandaged but not in normal rags but with a silk from the arachne that they produce it's how they sustain their colony because royals pay an absurd amount of money for it that's why they were being up ducted and kidnapped. As Kai looks around Rachne approaches Kai and speaks to him in a soft voice.)
Rachne: (Standing over Kai) Don't worry we did not do anything strange to your unconscious body, (softly) that you know off anyway.
Kai: (With wide eyed expression on his face) What did you mean by that? I heard that.
Rachne: Oh I said nothing, besides it was Sophia and I that treated your wounds and Reyna helped too she was the most curios.
Kai: What do you mean by that?
Rachne: Again nothing your still just shocked and are hearing things(giggles softly)
Kai: (Worried) Man I think that arachne of yours hit me harder than I thought he did, where is he?
Rachne: He's been locked up and faces death by our laws we could get no information out of him he doesn't seem to want to talk.
Kai: What about the human that was also brought back?
Rachne: He's still awaiting interrogation.
Kai: Good I'll do it myself and get info out of him about who were dealing with here. I just need a few thing before I begin the interrogation.
Rachne: And what my dear might that be I'll make it happen anything you need even me I'm at your disposal.
Kai: Uhh well its nothing too sinister, you need to get Reyna though I need her magic for this to work perfectly.
(Reyna goes to Kai and Rachne gathers all the things needed she moves the man blind folded to the forge which was hot and there was an iron in the forges fire the door closed and the man was strung up and was ready for the interrogation, behind him was Reyna who was with another iron but this one she used her magic to freeze it and it was very cold that one and a piece of meat was hidden out of sight, the man was kept waiting until Kai and Rachne entered the forge.)
Kai: So who do we have here, I haven't beaten you up before right?
Man: NO! you bastard you got lucky on that wagon.
Kai: Don't stress yourself you'll talk before long, you see that iron in the coals that's for you like how you treated another arachne. (Kai walks behind the man and rips the man's back of his shirt off.) Don't worry it's only so you'll feel better.
Reyna: I'd talk if I were you, Kai normally does what he says he's gonna do and if he says he's gonna burn your back he'll do it, besides it's the least you deserve for what you did.
Rachne: Yes the very least we should cut of your legs and see if you'll survive like my warrior did.
Kai: Still don't want to talk do you?
Man: No, I'll never betray him your empty scare tactics don't work on me besides you're the good guy this isn't what good guys do.
Kai: Who said I was the good guy? Do you know how this works once that iron touches your flesh it will burn but you see its too hot you will smell burning meat and all you will feel is cold because of the nerves getting burned your brain won't be able to distinguish between hot and cold.
(Kai takes the hot iron out of the coals it is bright red you can see it was very hot and with his right hand he takes the cold iron that Reyna had frozen, he puts the cold iron to the man's back and at the same time the hot iron on the meat that was there. The man screams are loud as he feels the cold on his back in the hot forge, his screams echo through the forbidden woods. Kai continues this until the man finally breaks.)
Man: STOP!!! PLEASE JUST STOP!!!! I'll talk I will tell you about him. We never saw his face or know who he is I only saw him once and even then he was wearing a mask, I know he runs the underworld he is connected to almost everything for 6 years now.
Kai: Why were you kidnapping arachne?
Man: For their silk it sells for a fortune on the black market because it's so scarce royals pay well for it, and the children were to be sold as slaves to royals who would raise them as servants and fulfil their sick fantasies what happens to them we don't know and never asked questions either those who did died. The men normally go to the arena or they are hunted for sport along with the women. (The man was out of breath and crying he was broken and felt helpless)
Rachne: (Rage consumed her now and it was visible in her tone) You took my people to be sold and treated as slaves our young ones and our men and women to be hunted and defiled by you sick kind for your own gratification to make themselves feel good!!
Reyna: (Calms the Rachne) calm down Kai has this let's leave him to finish up here he will make these men pay with their blood.
(Reyna and Rachne leave, Kai was now alone with the man and was free to ask more questions.)
Kai: What about this masked man does he have a boss as well?
Man: I don't know that if he does I'm terrified because the man who can control that man has to be incredibly powerful, please just kill me now.
(Kai cuts the man loose and throws the cold iron in front of his face, the man looked with surprise as he realised his body had not a single mark and that he was made the fool off.)
Kai: Listen to me very carefully, you will go to this masked man and tell him Kai sent you and that I will be coming for him and when I do I will kill him and end his tyranny over the east kingdom and demi humans and all non-humans will be free to choose their own fate and no longer have to live in fear.
Man: (With fear in his eyes as he saw Kai was a serious man and did not make idle threats.) Y-yes sir I'll go and give this message.
Kai: One last thing, you'll never harm anyone ever again and if I ever see you harm any demi human I'll kill you without a second thought. Now run along.
(the man runs away in fear everyone in the forbidden woods looked on as he ran away, Rachne did not understand why Kai let him go but she knew he would not have done so without a purpose to his plan all she could do is to trust him and Reyna.)
Reyna: See Rachne I told you Kai has this, he probably sent the men with a message to his boss so don't worry the forbidden woods is under the protection of me and my champion.
Rachne: (Looking over at Kai as he approached) I do trust him he knows what he is doing and to have our own guardian is the first time in seven years.
Kai: (Looking at Reyna and Rachne) So we all good I sent him with a little message to this masked man, your safe now I doubt anybody will come here looking for trouble again. How is your hunter arachne and Sophia?
Rechne: My hunter is still recovering and Sophia has gone to fetch you a gift with the children to say thanks for saving them.
Kai: There's no need I only did what I could, besides my fear of spiders is starting to fade I'm quite fond of this place now.
Rachne: Well everyone has taken a liking to you a human who fought for them without hesitation our own hero.
Kai: I don't know about being called a hero.
(In the distance Sophia and the children Kai had saved approached)
Sophia: Kai it's good to see you awake again I thought you were going to die for a moment,(she blushes as she gives Kai a present) here you go we got this for you a gift for u-uhm taking your coat earlier.
Kai: There was no need, and in future don't undress strangers.
(Kai takes Sophia's gift and opened it, it was a brand new coat but this one was crimson in colour instead of white with a blue dragon with its wings spread on the back the very image of Reyna.)
Kai: (Had no words as he did not usually receive gifts from other people) Thank you it's beautiful and you even put Reyna on the back thank you very much.
Reyna: a coat fit for a champion.
(A young boy arachne tugged on Kai's leg, Kai looked at him and the children had also a gift for him they were still shorter than Kai so he kneeled down to be at their height and looked them in the eye.)
Boy: S-sir thank you for saving us we also have a gift for you.
(A girl handed a necklace to Kai with a silver chain and pendant attached to it with an inscription "I wish you didn't have to go so early but were glad to have met you". Kai had a tear in his eye but he did not show it.)
Kai: Thank you all and now that I've met you I'll be with you in spirit.
(Kai and Reyna say their farewells Rachne lead them to the edge of the forbidden woods where she stopped and told Kai and Reyna where to find Irene.)
Rachne: Irene has her own land just a few days north of our woods just follow the path you won't miss it she is passed the centaurs village.
Kai: Thank you for all you have done.
Rachne: No thank you for helping us in our time of need you'll always have a place here with us.
(Suddenly Rachne grabbed Kai and gave him a kiss he would not soon forget, Reyna fell on her back from shock)
Kai: (Blushing) Well uuhh that was unexpected t-thank you Rachne.
Rachne: (Licking her lips) Ohh such a good kisser I should keep you here.
Reyna: (In a sharp tone) Sorry lady he's my champion and he's got work to do he already as me in his life. (Reyna spoke those words before thinking and was now embarrassed)
Rachne: I guess that makes us rivals for his affection now doesn't it?
Reyna: Yes it does my rival
(Kai was still shocked from the kiss and did not respond to what was happening, after Rachne and Reyna's final words the exited the forbidden woods and headed to the centaurs village it was easy to find and just passed it was Irene's land the centaurs village was in the centre of the east kingdom many legends came from there including Excalibur a sword with immense power was under the centaurs protection. As Kai and Reyna travelled they bonded more. After two days of walking they were close to the centaur's village all of a sudden Kai was hit by a running centaur sending him flying and rolling a few meters Reyna as in the air and was shocked at what just happened)
Reyna: Hey you centaur lady what gives you could have killed him!?
Female Centaur: (Dizzy from the accident) I'm sorry.
(Reyna goes over to check on Kai he was still breathing at the very least but why did this centaur run Kai over and what was the reason for this all this was questions that Reyna and Kai too would want answers to should he wake up if he wakes up?)
