Chapter 17 - Getting to Know an Elf Part 1

Anko had already greeted her, an Elf was still hiding at the bottom of the sea. Anko was forced to sit near the lake and wait for it to come out. Anko waited a long time until she fell asleep because she had been crying for a long time.

Anko subconsciously fell asleep near the lake, surrounded by slime monsters who were surprised to see her at close range.

The Elf who felt that there were no disturbances tried to go up to reveal himself...

"...?" Elf just looked at her without wanting to approach her. She still doubts that the man who went to her place could be pretending to be sleeping and a bad person.

Time passed quickly, the curious elf finally approached Anko trying to believe that the human in her place was not a bad person.

Suddenly, the Elf who felt Anko's breath up close, and Anko who felt a strand of elf hair that had touched her face while looking at her...

Anko who was still closing her eyes slowly opened her eyes so slowly, she immediately remembered that she was still in one of the ancient ruins.

As soon as she woke up looking at the ceiling of the labyrinth-like building, Anko realized and still remembered that Syifa was no longer there, her tears automatically flowed from her eyes...

She cried again as she looked up at the ceiling of the labyrinth, and clutched Syifa's broken sword.

There's no point in dwelling on sorrow for too long...

On the other hand, the elf who already knew that the human in front of him would soon wake up, immediately hid behind a wall while peeking at Anko from a distance.

The human who arrived at his place was surrounded by colorful slime monsters but instead, he gently stroked the slime with a gentle smile.

The elf who saw Anko's soft side finally tried to believe from the bottom of her heart that the person who had greeted her earlier was someone who had been trapped in the rubble and to be more precise, did not know this place at all.

Slowly, step by step the feet drew closer to Anko. The elf walked barefoot. She walked steadfastly while looking seriously at Anko who still didn't notice an elf approaching her.

As soon as Anko turned the other way after stroking some of the slimes nearby...

To her surprise, Anko saw the elf staring at her. Anko widened her eyes and she immediately woke up however, she slipped and fell into the lake, "Eh!?" said Anko who was surprised too.

The elf was even more panicked, she already thought that judging from the girl's innocent expression she wouldn't be able to swim coupled with her heavy armor.

The elf immediately ran and looked at Anko who had completely sunk to the bottom of the lake.

She intended to help her but...

What was Anko thinking when she fell just now? She actually could still swim but, he had given up on this life, she decided to commit suicide and let herself lose strength, died because he couldn't breathe, and soon followed Syifa.

She didn't care if he died here in this world, and that was her choice. Then in the real world… his death was far more satisfying to her family who hated his existence.

However, it was Anko who chose to die while holding the sword left by Syifa...

As soon as his breath was full of incoming water, suddenly a palm and a clear white-skinned hand approached her.

Anko smiled and she thought, it must be Syifa's hand...

She blinked her eyes in disbelief and thought she might already be in the afterlife but, the hand forcefully pulled Anko up to the surface.

The elf saved Anko from the lake...

'COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!'

Anko immediately coughed but, she felt like she wasn't dead at all, and now she looked back at the ceiling of the labyrinth which was the same as before when she woke up but her position was a bit different now.

Anko immediately woke up and in front of her at a very close distance, the elf and Anko looked at each other...

"Ah!" Anko tried to greet her but the elf immediately backed away and kept her distance from Anko while hiding her face.

"Excuse me… you were my mentor, so I want to thank you very much." However, Anko's words were not answered by the elf, she was still hiding her face with an uneasy expression.

"Ah, sorry I trespassed, and don't worry I'm not a bad person!" Anko exclaimed with a gentle smile.

"...." The elf was still hesitant to reply to Anko's words.

"I'm Anko Sawaguchi, nice to meet you..." Anko finally quickly introduced herself. For Anko, the introduction is the first step in a process of approaching or establishing a relationship...

Anko didn't hesitate to extend her hand as well...

The elf was still hiding his face but now she turned his head stealthily at Anko. Finally, the Elf ventured to see Anko.

"Why do you want to know me so much?" however, Anko's sincere attitude got a cynical answer from the elf instead.

Instantly the elf's greeting got an expression of a stiff smile from Anko, and she immediately lowered her outstretched hand.

"Sorry," Anko immediately apologized in her flat tone then she fell silent without saying anything.

But the elf who felt sorry for this finally asked about Anko, about why she was suddenly crying. Anko finally told her from the beginning of his journey in this world until finally touching this ancient ruin.

The Elf, who listened carefully and the slime monsters nearby, finally believed that this human race was a good person.

"So you're not actually from this world?" Elf asked to confirm once more.

Anko sighed calmly as she crossed her arms, "Of course not, not from this world at all… my world originally had a building like a pile of boxes with the sides were covered in glass, well you can imagine how that world was…"

The lighting there uses electricity, an object that looks like a city light.

The impressed elf just nodded slowly. While the lighting in the elf's place is only a torch.

"Generally like a city center." The elf finally connected with Anko's story.

"Eh, downtown, huh?" but Anko who didn't know it had not seen what the city center in this world looked like.

"The bottom line is it's in the center of the city as you described it… however, it's very far from here."

While telling the story Anko finally got the information, and in her heart, she said, "Eh, so this place is still very far from the city place..."

"Sorry, maybe if your comrade was still alive…."

"Yes, right." Anko thought, if Syifa was still alive, maybe she would be able to go around the city.

Will Anko have a plan to take an elf on a journey?
