"I think today the judge was in a bad mood. He was looking for Robert to consult on a case of car theft. This is a regular occurrence and in legal parlance it is given last priority. Who are people buying stolen cars? They are all rich fellows and easily they can buy another one. They can leave a stolen one anywhere." Intruder said.
"In fact, these cars are used by police officers for their personal needs till case runs. And if it's a newer one then senior police officers including these magistrates and judges use it to entertain their families and guests. If the car is new it is parked in the bungalow of some VIP and the police keep telling stories." Rakesh looked at the face of the man and tried to recognize him.
"How do you know all these details?" Fat man asked.
"Bhola Prasad is a very old advocate in court and is able to earn good money through broking in such cases. He wants money to be paid to judge. He wants own fee to get an early and favorable verdict."
Suddenly Rakesh got interested and asked, "How much money is to be paid?
"Normally it's twenty five to thirty thousand rupees. But as you have shown early interest he may demand some twenty thousand." Bhola Babu will work out a favorable verdict. "It will be very costly. I have already spent more than eighty thousand for getting a car ready to my satisfaction. New insurance will cost me another 5-6 thousands making it too heavy on my purse. My mother will like to get a changed stereo system as she enjoys listening to music particularly when going on longer drives. Add to this court expenses it will be the resale value of the car. But still I want this as it was liked by my love and gave me pleasure of sleeping with her."
Rakesh talked unhesitatingly. Bhola Babu looked at him and pondered before talking further. He said, "Another alternative is to sell the car to the Judge hearing your case. It proved to him lucky when he went to settle the daughter's marriage in this car only. His wife also wants it."
"Then what's the use of discussion? I am giving up and will live with memory. Sally, you agree with me." Rakesh said looking at her, who was smiling.
"This is difficult with this new generation. They want everything at a lower cost and easily attach sentiments in buying and selling. Elders have lost much interest and want things to get comfort and not to impress any girl friend." Bhola Babu said, twisting his face.
