It had taken Solis quite some time to recover from the shock of being abducted and locked in pitch darkness for three whole days. He was only a child at the time, anyway. When Teacher Artemis had brought Solis home, his stepmother had pretended that nothing was wrong – but suddenly, the night lights in Solis's room seemed to be out of order. Solis had tried sleeping with his lights on, but his stepmother had come in switched off the lights, saying it was not good for his health to keep the lights on during the night. Solis was so terrified that he crept out of his room in the middle of the night (soon after his stepmother left) and spent the night in a corner of the corridor which remained lit all the time thanks to the lights outside.
