Second had arrived on the planet of Nyxterra just a few hours ago and he had gone through the check-up near the station that he landed in. It was an incredibly vast area of a flat concrete-like surface, made of some very strong material; the entire station spanned an area of over 40 square kilometres. It was a multipurpose station that received and housed thousands of spaceships, communicated with vessels in outer space, kept up the defense of the planet, and a lot more.
Second had been informed that the station that they were currently in was quite far away from the metropolis, so they would have him take the teleporter there. "Do not worry, Sir! We will take good care of your Warp-Ship. You may collect it whenever you wish to leave the planet. Please, enjoy your stay," The same, female voice spoke; it was an AI that was talking to Second through a robot that looked just like a woman.
He was already amazed by the scale of the station and the people that were present here; on top of that, the systems and AI that were established as well. However, he had yet to truly see what this planet offered. Not for long though; because, in a short while, Second would step through the teleporter to Vastoria, the main and single most important metropolis of Nyxterra.
———
Now, if was finally time to head to the city, as Second stood before the teleporter that was being projected from a ping-pong sized, oval shaped object.
Stepping through the teleporter, Second felt nauseous and disoriented, but the feeling was for but a second and had dissipated before he knew it. Feeling his senses come back to him and opening his eyes, he could see that he was in some sort of underground temple.
He could see murals depicting a woman with flowing and floating platinum-blonde hair. The figure was faceless, but the proportions and sharp features made her look beautiful. Her right hand was extended upwards, reaching the sky, and it could seen glowing with a rainbow coloured spectrum of lights; it was her magic. At the feet of the faceless figure, were demonic beings, bowing their heads and kowtowing.
'Hmm, say... is that you, Scion?' Second asked the voice in his head. 'Who knows. It slightly resembles one; but again, one does not know what goes on in the Vampire realm,' Scion replied, 'How dare they make one look so insignificant! Surely, you agree that one's divine self is much more than that. You should have seen one's form; one is much more beautiful. Is it not so?'
Second felt pressured to answer her question, however he only wondered how much a primordial and, supposedly terrifying being could ask such questions of him. 'Uhhh. Look... I can't say that I'm attracted to kids, so I guess I can say that you were uhh, cute?'
'Cute? Yes, that ought to do,' Scion commented, with quite the smug tone.
Although flabbergasted by the truly weird and concerning behavior of the primordial Vampire, Second looked to leave the place that he was currently in.
He could see a giant door that, by his guess, led him outside. Upon pushing the door open with his might, he was greeted by a long and giant hallway that seemed to branch into two different hallways. Before he could move forward, he was stopped by two crossed spears from either side, and a few more guards appeared in front of him via a Teleportation Ability or something, donning completely black armour with a spear each.
They stood their ground as they tapped the butt of their spears on the ground, signaling the two other guards to relax their arms. "Your name is Second, yes?" The guard with the most specialised armour, in the middle, spoke and waited for Second to nod, "We have been informed of your arrival. We have also been informed that you have undergone an inspection already, however, we shall conduct another one that is much more efficient. Do not worry. Unless you have something to hide, there is nothing for you to worry about."
Second followed the man with a deep yet soothing voice as instructed. However, he would have been lying if he said that he was not worried; he had the Vampire Ring, after all. He had no idea what the Vampires would do if they found out, after all.
The man led Second to a door on the side of the hallway, near to the division. Opening the small door, they entered the inspection area; in which, was sat a woman, on a chair, near a neat and clean desk with small projectors that were displaying a wide array of reports. She wore a pair thin-framed glasses, and was, by all means, beautiful; same as all of the other Vampires that Second had encountered.
'I suppose it's a trait passed down from the most beautiful one. Isn't that right, Scion?' Second made his attempt at flattery towards the voice in his head. 'Hahahah, you are very observant, my servant! But, it is Master for you; I shall overlook it this one time.'
The inspector woman sighed before speaking: "Step into the Sensory Chamber so that I can see your magick readings and your artefacts."
Nervously stepping into the transparent tube of just two circular metallic planes, one that was seemingly floating in the air, and a holographic cylindrical display that glowed red as he passed through it, Second was preparing himself for the worst if they found out about his Vampire Ring and to fight his way out of this place, if needed.
Silence prevailed until one of the many, many holographic display in front of the woman lit up, "Please, uncloak any artefact or device that you have in your possession. We cannot proceed any further if you do not reveal this to us."
Second did as told, although hesitantly, revealing a golden-black ring on his right hand's ring finger. It bore two sharp fangs that pierced into his finger. "Is it... the Blood Ring...? How come it is with you! Who are you?! And... why is the Blood Ring... golden? Wait, wait, wait, wait-!" The woman mused, "Stay where you are, please! We won't do you any harm; even if we wanted to, it is against the imperial decree for us! So, please-!"
Second was slightly more inclined to cooperate after hearing what the woman just said, "What do you want from me? Look, I don't have this thing because I wanted it. I tried to take it off too many times, but it always comes back. It is a curse and I am willing to do anything to get rid of it."
"On this planet, it is not! I will call someone to confirm whether it truly is the Blood Ring," The woman stated, "In the meantime, praytell, how did you come across the Divine Ring?"
———
Second told the woman his stand in all of the chaos: as a bystander and a victim of fanatic cultic activities. His adventure from when he came to and recovered some of his memories, omitting some parts, of course. He did not speak of Scion although she insisted that all of the Vampires ought to know the existence of her second Kin.
After talking for a while, an old man entered the room and tapped his black and trendy walking stick on the ground, releasing a surge of red energy, "Kneel," He demanded.
Although the woman who was in front of Second had already submitted and knelt when the old man entered, Second was not affected by the energy and completely ignored it. Using his [Inspect] Skill, he was able to make out that the person in front of him was a Vampire Elder of the Table.
"Hoh, impressive young lad. Is this the lamb that was in possession of the Blood Ring? Let me see it," He demanded. Second was at his wit's end as Scion kept scolding and demanding him to put the crazy old man in his place; truthfully speaking, even he was annoyed by the old man.
Therefore, he controlled his red Vampiric Energy and imbued it with Ki, releasing it in the form of an invisible storm, pushing the woman and the armoured knight away so that they tumble on their way to the walls, and throwing the Vampire Elder on his behind.
After going through an evolution of sorts—like that of a beast—Second had become a full-fledged Vampire a long time ago. Undergoing rigorous training and refinement, leveling up, he had become something known as a True Vampire.
Perhaps, it was because of the fact that he was the Kin of the Original and Primordial Vampire that he had evolved into such a being, above even a Vampire Elder by leagues. Vampire Elders were known to rival the strength of Vampire Lords; coupled with their wisdom of dozens or even centuries of years, their studies of magic made them a very formidable foe. Because of this, they were distinguished members of the Table, with a position as high as the generic Vampire Lord.
'How... come? I have not felt this kind of magnitude to a Vampire's Energy since... when I was met with the King! Who is this boy? Even if he has the Blood Ring, it should not have been long since it was stolen! This power cannot be possible...' The Vampire Elder thought, looking up at the boy, he spoke: "My utmost and sincere apologies for such arrogant actions, my lord! I only wished to prove your mettle, and by the looks of it, you have surpassed all of our expectations! I was worried, seeing the Divine Ring in a different light: that of Gold. Have mercy..."
"Get up, elder. I have no intentions of harm anyone here; as long as I have my own safety guaranteed," Second mused, "You see... I want to have a higher position in this empire. Maybe you can help me; if you are not affiliated with anyone, of course."
As Second held out his hand, following Scion's plan to have Second become King in the Empire of a City named Vastoria, the same received a notification from his System:
[Ex-Quest: Become the Vampire King, inheriting knowledge of all former Kings, and become the strongest Vampire in your era. Additionally, learn all the magics of the Vampire Kings, get access to the King's treasury and obtain the Vampire King's armour.]
[Reward: ???]
[Ex-Quest: Revive the Original and Primordial Vampire]
[???
Reward: ???]
"Of course, my liege!" The Vampire Elder agreed readily, kneeling to the person in front of him,"But, please, enlighten me with your name, my liege...!"
Receiving the affirmation from Scion, Second took a short breath declared his existence as he raised his right hand's fist in the air; as the same began to glow with a rainbow coloured spectrum of lights, he declared: "My name is Second Scion! I am the answer and I am the truth! The second Kin of Scion, the True and Original Vampire: a True Vampire! I am the harbinger of the revival of my Master: Scion, the Primordial Vampire!"
