Pencil was training on a field, with her arm stretched out with open arms. She tried to move earth or at least make it do something.
Fay watched from behind as tears formed in her eyes. Filled with frustration, Pencil got on her knees and hit the ground with both fist.
"Why am I so bad at this?"
"It is my fault."
Pencil turned and saw the resemblance, she slowly got up. Fay opened her arms as Pencil walked towards her. She ran into the meadow and Fay chased after her. Fay stopped as she run deep into the meadow.
Apia came and saw a crack on the floor where Pencil was suppose to be training.
"She ran away."
Fay shouted to Apia as walked out of the meadow.
"Fay?"
Fay walked right pass her and went into the house.
"It's good you are here because you daughter is terrible at magic. Now we can melt the iron that weigh down the court."
Apia followed Fay as she said.
"She is not terrible at magic, I bound her. I know it was extreme, but I did it to help protect her."
"How can you just say it so casually, binding a witch may have lasting effect even after they are unbound."
"Can we not do this now?"
Holly walked in on them, she dropped a tray of plates she was holding when she saw Fay. She ran and hugged her.
"We've missed you."
Tears dropped in Fay's clothes, soaking every drop up.
"Why ain't you in Isis, tell me everything."
Fay pulled out a chair sat down, Dalia entered the house then helped Apia pick up the broken plates.
"It's bad, really bad. Claire has the whole town under her thumb. She executes anyone who creates room for defiance.
She has mages scouring the territories in search of us.
She elected a new cardinals she can control. Last I heard, she found the Book of Skins.
We have to stop her before she grows any stronger."
Pencil walked in and passed by, she went upstairs to a dusty room. There were piles of boxes filled with toys. She sat on a tinny bed which had pillows scattered all over.
"Who's room is this?"
Apia stood at the door, watching Pencil play with a wooden unicorn. She took in a deep breath through her mouth and let it out her nose. She then walked to Pencil and sat by her.
"It was my daughter's, I tried to hide her here when we left Isis. I tried to keep her safe, I took away her power so she could have a normal life.
She did, for awhile she was happy even without parents. Until Claire's mages found her. I haven't been here ever since she died."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked."
"It's okay, I needed to face the truth. I know it's not fair to you but I'll like to redeem myself through you."
Apia grabbed Pencils hand as she said. They both got up and walked out of the room. Down stairs, Dalia, Holie and Fay waited for them. Apia placed Pencils hand in Fays and stepped back.
Fay took her other hand and placed a thumb on each wrist.
"De senthral Frēo."
Pencil's wrist started to glow, thin mesh light glowed all over Pencils body. She staggered and Fay placed her down slowly. She started to bleed from her nose, then ears , eyes and finally from her mouth. She coughed out thick dark red blood that evaporated the moment it hit the ground.
The light mesh tore strand by strand dissipating into thin air.
After the last strand dissipated, they waited for Pencil to wake up. After thirty seconds Fay placed her finger beneath her nostrils.
After, she immediately pressed on Pencils chest. Occasionally blowing air into Pencils mouth . She did this until Pencil gasped for air and opened her eyes.
"Try some magic?"
Holie said and they all looked at her with disappointment.
"What, we need all the help we can get."
Pencil got up and created a storm in her left hand and a fire storm in her right hand.
She raised up her head and saw disappointment on their faces.
"What, this is huge progress. I couldn't even make basic fire five minutes ago."
"Yes we know, it's not that."
"What then?"
"You are a weaver."
"Weaver, is that bad."
"Don't mind your mother, ever witch is special."
"One who practice all, masters none. It means she will always be average."
"A weaver witch can combine magic and create new spells."
"So they can basically do any magic, how is that a bad thing."
Pencil asked holding on to her excitement.
"I guess she will have to find out the hard way."
Fay said but Pencil was distracted by her new found power. She created snow flacks which is let fall in her mouth.
"Since you guys don't need me, can I meet up with my friends?"
"I haven't seen you in years, I'll like us to spend more time together."
"I, haven't seen you in years, you saw me minutes if not hours ago. Besides it's not like you are traveling through time again. I've been meaning to visit Isis, I will come."
Fay nodded .
"Holie teach me your lighting travel."
"You can't do it, it's advance magic. This is what you mum was talking about. You might be able to use lighting but you can cast advance lighting spells."
"Never mind, I remember how it felt."
Pencil created a surge of lighting and directed it to the clouds.
Holie charged towards her but before she could get there, Pencil snapped her finger and she was gone.
"She did it, I guess you were wrong. Your spell is not advanced as you thought."
Dalia said looking at Holie.
The Cardinal set out to Isis, on their way Holie kept thinking about Pencils Lighting travel.
