Chapter 349 - Melting Hope

Sernatacus rolled under Valiant before he could spit out more acid. He landed on his feet, then turned around to see where Valiant would land.

When he did, he realized a fog of acid clouds stood between him and the opposing Feral. Prompting him to patiently pace around the other side, not letting his guard down.

Valiant let out several other shots of acid to land around Sernatacus, further fogging his vision and giving him the advantage. He then took off running to Sernatacus' right.

Using his nocturnal senses, Sernatacus saw through this tactic. He carefully stepped back, making sure to follow the sounds of a lurking predator.

He caught Valiant in his gaze as he erupted out from behind his cloud, completely unharmed. The Feral flew through the night sky, claws ready to tear Sernatacus to shreds.

In response, Sernatacus dodged to the left. Letting Valiant land, before going back in for a jab against his head. Valiant grunted as he recovered, and swiped as a counter.

Only to notice Sernatacus ducked, and shot back up with a fist towards his jaw. The punch was hard enough to draw out acid and blood from his gums.

Seeing the opportunity to tie another move into his combo, Sernatacus grabbed the back of Valiant's head. Then he slammed it down onto his knee.

Valiant dropped a hand to catch himself from collapsing. He reacted fast enough to catch Sernatacus with a hit directed straight to the groin.

It connected, releasing damaging pulses of pain through his stomach. The hit connected perfectly with Sernatacus' reproductive organs, throwing him off from his focus.

"You dirty animal..." Sernatacus groaned.

"Code of the Nemesis," Valiant jumped to his feet. He kicked the side of Sernatacus' knee, making his footing uneven. "You should learn about it!" He jumped and kicked the side of his head.

Frigid stone bruised his broad shoulders as Sernatacus quickly forced himself back up. Flakes of snow started to fall, turning the entire battle into a winter brawl. Despite it being close to mid-Spring.

Valiant vomited more acid, landing before and behind Sernatacus. Which caused the Feral to briefly freeze in place, giving him enough time to jump through the acidic fog and kick Sernatacus back.

The highly poisonous airborne chemicals stung at Sernatacus' back and feet. But not enough to warrant concern, but just enough to motivate him some more.

He landed against a stone wall, badly battering its surface. Shortly after landing, Sernatacus moved his head to Valiant's incoming punch didn't land on him.

As expected, he missed. However, the keratin blade from the sheer force. The wall began to crumble some more, encouraging Sernatacus to destroy it.

The alpha dashed behind Valiant, then drove a front-kick to his back with enough force to send Valiant crashing through. Stone crumbled, and dust clouded the inside of the home.

Despite the hindrances, Sernatacus was keen on killing Valiant. He marched straight through the broken wall, keeping his eyes on the struggling Feral.

"Your pack, was it big? Did they get to survive out there, while you were too busy burning down habitats? Don't you know how disgusting you are?!" Sernatacus taunted.

He stomped on the back of Valiant's head, pinning him down. "Never in my two-hundred and thirty-five years alive did I imagine encountering such an animal."

Sernatacus gritted his teeth. "I look down upon you," he stomped on Valiant's head again. "Do you know what happens when somebody gets stepped on back in Imbushko?" he stomped again.

"That is an insult. Means you are worth less than dirt - an infinite nothing," Sernatacus stomped on Valiant's head once more. "And that is exactly what you are, nothing. Worthless as ever!"

Valiant struggled against the weight of Sernatacus' leg. He felt his front teeth crunch and fall out, followed by the vile taste of his own blood. Acid flowed regularly, burning up the floor beneath.

Realizing this was the perfect opportunity to beat Valiant down with blunt damage, Sernatacus drew back his foot in order to stomp once again. Only for Valiant to shoot back up.

His arm yanked Sernatacus' other leg forward. Making him fall onto the pile of teeth, acid, and blood. Acid sizzled, showing it was burning something more.

A calm state of panic overtook Sernatacus' mind as Valiant climbed on top. He quickly swayed his upper body aside, making it so his hair and cranium lost contact with the acid.

Then he reached around Valiant's torso, putting him in a position to handle the fight. Sernatacus pulled the rest of Valiant's body down, pressing his face against his acidic drool and teeth.

"Learn how to attack properly, Feral!" Sernatacus taunted once again.

He twisted his body to mount Valiant from behind. Giving him full control of his opponent's upper body. Sernatacus planted his foot on the back of his head, while slowly but surely forcing him to fold backwards.

"You doubted my ability to handle you and your ally! Do you see where you made that mistake?!?" Sernatacus gritted his teeth. "Never doubt your prey."

Valiant desperately tried to kick and thrash his body around to avoid being snapped in half. But the harder he tried, the worse it got.

Until the sound of his snapping spine got louder and louder, until he was completely folded up. Organs and tissues began to bleed, releasing a painful, but slow death.

Sernatacus kicked his opponent to the side, reaching to the back of his head for any injuries. That's when he realized there was a bald spot around his crown.

He angrily grunted, understanding that was the price to pay for mistakes. Either way, he was alive. And only one warrior remained: Ether Coros.

A bellowing war cry caught Sernatacus' attention. He realized something big was happening. Warriors screamed and yelled at one another to get out of there.

When he exited the home, he realized why. Jakery and Ether were staring at each other, both ready to demonstrate to their sibling why it was their mistake to turn their back against the other.
