Chapter 307 - Bloody Angel

Valentine Prime's largest ring circled around his body quicker than before, ready to deflect incoming projectiles. His bare chest began to ooze out blood, letting more changes come into play.

Thin blood coated his ribs, which sprouted up to his back. Where skinny but plentiful wings emerged, sharing an appearance akin to spilled liquids.

He howled a deep demonic screech as he ascended to the skies, completely ignoring any and all projectiles as they came through. With one angry motion, entire rows of flyers popped.

Raining blood and gore to the world below. Displaying what Valentine had become, an icon of patient fury.

Unuwkus flew around and over Valentine Primed, aiming their quills right on him. Then they fired volleys, followed by arrows. All projectiles whistled toward him, only to be slapped away by his ring.

Disgust and anger formed a sickly green to replace portions of Valentine Prime's blood, he was enraged Conqueror had to choose fight over peace. Even more furious at Infinus for being dumb enough to send teams out to explore Yarno.

Yet Valentine held his prime version back from attacking his allies, even if it was a stupid decision, they were still his home Legion. Sun setting would be unloyal and would mirror his departure from Frosticus.

Upon attempting to retreat, all attacking Unuwkus faced down complete organ failure. As if their blood stopped flowing altogether, causing sections of their bodies to shut down one by one.

But the riders did not feel a thing, only the moment of mixed shock and dread one has moments before death. As they pummeled to the battlefield, giant blood monoliths arose from Hymo.

It seemed like a nightmare, how they emerged from nowhere. Drinking the crimson liquids corpses left behind. They sucked every exposed vein, wound, and organ clean of any blood.

Allowing them to grow bigger and size while also fueling one of Valentine Prime's most devastating abilities. One that he'd eagerly wait to use when the time was right - when he saw Hitirus.

Discs made of the fine crimson liquid erupted out of his body, going nearly double the speed of light. They slaughtered and butchered Sky Beasts and Unuwkus, while challenging incoming Weavers.

Furious purple eyes glared at them as they danced closer, spinning and twisting their way through the mayhem. Allied flyers dashed past them, aiming to put warriors in needed positions.

Jakery flashed by, hovering a fair distance away Valentine Primed. "Wh - what the..? What are you?!"

Valentine Prime glanced at Jakery, before turning to look away. He howled a demonic screech as he broke the sound barrier with a single dash.

Siege Weavers cackled and rumbled together, ready to defend their homes. Only to instantly fade out of existence as a greater force arrived closer.

By their nature, they weren't allowed to exist alongside Servants or primes. They simply didn't have enough power to do it. So they had to disappear.

Jakery deeply exhaled, unsure of what to think. He glanced beneath his feet, discovering a red misty arena below. The sight, paired with the sounds of gunfire and metal clashing with metal, made this feel surreal.

It was a feeling Jakery hadn't experienced in such a long time. The last time he felt like this was during Frosticus Fall, when he earned his Third Rule.

Understanding the fight above wasn't going to last very long, especially with a prime challenging them. Jakery felt himself slowly lose altitude as warriors continued to pour into the area.

Explosions rained from above, rocking the area back and forth. Debris from nearby homes crumbled and got turned to dust, being swept away by the ruthless storm winds.

"They know they've lost, but they continue fighting!" a nearby Volatile warrior called out, admiring their courage. "We should give them proper respects when killing them!"

A surge of electricity made Jakery seem like a spotlight, completely consuming his entire body. His walking speed got quicker, and so did his breathing. All thoughts completely escaped his mind.

It was like achieving a new type of focus. One meant for fast-paced lifestyles. Like an actual flash of thunder, Jakery darted through the whole crowd. Avoiding rallying forces while pushing into the enemy.

Conqueror Variants disappeared in a fine blueish-white vapor, completely consumed by the energy. Jakery dove straight through a shielded defender, then landed on his foot.

Using that, he jumped off the floor. Keeping the opposite leg extended, letting it clash against as many Variants as possible. With each one that passed, another kill was scored.

In a fraction of the time it takes for one to blink, nearly four dozen Variants disappeared. Energy cackled like sadistic clowns as Jakery came to a halt.

Variants flinched at the sudden appearance of an elite and the just as quick disappearance of their allies. They brought up their weapons and aimed it right at him.

Completely distracting them from the bombardment Volatile ordered right on them. Bombs dropped in rows, leveling the battlefield further and kicking up dust.

Even Variants from the allied forces got knocked around and killed as the Sky Beasts retreated to the heavens they descended from. Bringing their angels of death back to the aerial battle.

Jakery struggled off his back, coughing profusely while forcing his eyelids shut. Rubble decorated the entire area, joined by the sounds of screams.

"This..." Jakery coughed harder than before. He rolled onto his shoulder, keeping his other arm placed over his helmet. "This is..." he continued to cough. "The hell were they th-"

As he struggled to breathe, a distant entity took flight. Its wings spread wide and distinct aura perked up. Making it stick out like a sore thumb.

Consciousness quickly faded from Jakery's mind, knocking him into a dream-like state. He mustered as much strength as he could, feeling his injuries as he moved.

Shards of shrapnel engraved itself into his body, dealing large amounts of damage to his small body. The sounds of incoming marching caught his attention, motivating him to hurry up.

When he found his footing, he summoned a strike of lightning to turn him back into an energy reading. Allowing him to recover without the fear of being struck by a third party.

All of this, an entity watched.
