Off to the north, Enoptes and his battalion rampaged through Light's last standing bases. As the Infinus banners that hung from his back danced in the winds of war, his warriors howled with anger louder than ever before.
Like a war drum, they beat their chests to signify their unrivaled march. Strength in unity and trust within the elites helped propel their forces to new heights.
Sernatacus and his Ferals charged forward, leaping over rubble to ambush retreating warriors. As they fell from above, more Ophus elites continued their push to surround and secure the area.
Realizing it was far too easy, several forces pondered about their triumph for a moment. Wondering why there wasn't as much resistance as they expected.
Until the sound of utter volcanic fury deafened them all. Like a star on earth, the entire world got brighter. Deep rumbling caught their attention.
It was as if a volcano erupted and magma was forming hellish rivers down its sides. The rumble of bubbling magma, the kind of fury one wouldn't usually hear.
Above the battalion, hundreds of Pyroatic Weavers ascended. Increasing the temperature of half the region within minutes to mark their arrival.
Scorched temperatures tested the might of every single soul alive in Imbushko and near the Yarno border. This was the power of a Weaver too dominant to contain.
"Their beasts are taking flight! How do we stop this madness?" Ukaley called out to Enoptes.
In response, he slowly turned to face her. "We don't. Instead, we challenge it. Light is on its knees, gritting their teeth in our direction. This is their last stand. And if this is their fury... it will be ours as well."
Reveria stepped beside her partner. "I will take aim."
Ukaley glared up at the approaching beasts. "If we are going to die, let's die together."
As one, the duo charged towards the eye of the storm. Weapons ready for the draw. Their hearts pounded together. It was the urge of survival and love.
Off in the distance, Demon stalked the conflict. He understood he had to be merciful if his plan was to go correctly.
His hand opened up, revealing an orb of distortion and conflict. With it, he communicated with Jakery. Ordering him to assist the battalion. In his stead, Demon promised to fill his role.
As Weavers rained from above, igniting the world beneath them. A ruthless storm brewed up in the heavens, opening the gates to the arrival of fallen innocence. Jakery descended at high speeds.
Clouds formed, not ready to rain, but ready to observe. An enraged sibling engulfed himself in unforgiving energy, allowing him to pierce through a Pyroatic Weaver.
Killing it without any issues. He came to a stop above Sernatacus, who was helping Reveria adjust her shots by keeping an arm over her head.
The duo watched Jakery unleash a powerful beam of catastrophic lightning. Putting an end to another Weaver. It fell from the skies, but didn't make it to the ground before vanishing.
"HEY, JAKERY!" Sernatacus called out. "LEND US YOUR POWER!"
Despite how much he wanted to handle this situation on his own, Jakery knew better. From following his teachings and mimicking Ether's behavior, he knew it would be smarter to handle it with extra hands.
"Can you two handle a little shock?!" Jakery yelled over the beastly rumbling.
Reveria lowered her bow, waiting to see what was next. Before Jakery could continue, a Pyroatic Weaver descended right on the two.
With several explosions of molten fury, one believed they were destroyed. Unable to come back in any sort of way.
Until the dust cleared. Jakery fell to his knees, along with the barrier he used to protect his allies. In the brief moment of vulnerability, he ordered two lightning strikes to hit Sernatacus and Reveria.
Instantly powering both Variants up. Their armors glowed in a threatening blue mist, something emulated by their eyes. Together, they looked like two creations with the only command they followed was destroy.
Reveria pulled back her bowstring, igniting her weapon with the same electronic surge. Which engulfed the arrow as she was about to let go. It flew through the skies, getting in the middle of an incoming Weaver.
Then it exploded in a bright blue blast. Igniting the area with a devilish taint. After the blast, all that was left was a small portion of the Weaver.
Which still lived. It continued its rampage towards the ground, where it hoped to bring down an attacker. Only to get devoured by a much bigger, stronger Voltaic Weaver.
"Hold on, what?" Reveria asked in confusion.
Until she saw Sernatacus looking down at his hands. He grinned wider than before, as if he was impressed by something he did. Before turning his attention to the attacking Weavers.
He began wildly swinging his arms around, unleashing powerful blasts of electricity. Which collided with the Pyroatic's destructive body to produce a blast that left neither side alive.
As the conflict raged on, Sernatacus roared up at the Weavers. Causing empowered howls to erupt up above, stunning any descending Weaver.
Jakery took flight once again. He pierced the orange skies with his blend of yellow and blue, casting a shadow to the world around them.
With each Pyroatic Weaver killed, the regions began to cool off. Steadily decreasing in intensity as the population present dwindled down.
Reveria continued to shoot them out of the skies. Each arrow erupted with electromagnetic energy, breaking whatever mystical bond that held these beasts in the skies.
She turned her attention to the world around her. That's when she saw several warriors fleeing. Enoptes ordered the retreat, but many weren't able to pull out.
Explosions rocked the world, tossing warriors around. Leaving them easy victims for diving Pyroatic Weavers. Among these struggling warriors, was Reveria's lover.
Ukaley attempted to dash away from the heart of battle. But each attempt she made was brushed off by a nearby explosion. As time progressed, her strength dwindled.
Stamina drain took its toll on her body. Making her attempts at staying mobile a struggle. Reveria charged towards Ukaley, hoping to keep her cover while she fled.
Just before she could reach her, a Weaver dug itself into the ground between them. Causing a massive, fiery explosion. Igniting the area of impact and scorching both of their armors.
Adrenaline pumped Reveria to taking care of her partner. She leapt up into the sky, before slamming her bow down on where the Weaver landed.
The impact damaged several pieces of the underground beast as it poked its ugly head out of the soil. Its molten rumbles reflected its fury as it twisted and turned without a care.
"Ukaley, come to me. I will keep you safe!" Reveria called out.
But to this, Ukaley feebly attempted to turn her attention to her lover. The bright helmet berely changed as orange flames danced closer to it.
Before Reveria could respond, a Weaver landed right on her. Taking down the only Thawed Reveria had ever truly loved. Fury engulfed her body, driving her insane.
She unleashed a devastating shot, piercing right through the Weaver. Breaking it apart before erupting, further damaging the now-deceased beast.
Reveria fell to her knees. Her heart began to crumble under the intense pressure of losing someone she dearly loved. In that moment, she remembered how they met.
Their first ascent up Digon together, their first warm interaction, even their earliest signs of romantic interest in each other. Those came together to remind her of the time they took their love for each other into the bedroom.
Where they learned something new about each other: they were both extremely shy when put in these situations. Which helped shatter her heart further.
Tears poured out of her eyes. Reveria wanted to hold Ukaley in her arms once again, to whisper 'I love you' into her ear before drifting to sleep with her. But that would be a fantasy.
Right now, it was real life. Determined to keep her honor alive and well, Reveria struggled to stand. Her eyes locked onto several Weavers.
Bowstring pulled back, arrow ignited, fury pumped. With a slow breath, it took flight. Whizzing through the sky without a care before disappearing out of existence.
Weavers charged, and nothing they become. Several arrows appeared from different realities. Piercing through the Weavers from all directions. The true finale to nine separate attackers.
Off in the distance, Enoptes helped his warriors reach to safety. He barked orders and encouraged his battalion to remain strong under the waving banner that stood firm against all odds.
During one of his runs, several warriors called out to Enoptes. There was a white figure standing a safe distance away from the conflict.
It watched, arms crossed. Seemingly enjoying the show its beasts were putting up. A golden shield with wings plastered across their chest, showing true pride for their Legion.
Their presence caught his attention. Deep down, Enoptes knew this had to be the one responsible for the attack. Perhaps the elite that went missing earlier while they first attacked.
Whoever they were, they came back hoping to push this battalion back with the might of a hundred Pyroatic Weavers. Unknowingly pushing the attackers deeper into their craze.
Each conflict that comes and goes, Infinus becomes angrier. Fights became personal and the urge to triumph over their opposition grew more.
"Stay here," Enoptes ordered. "I am going to handle that one."
