One more target. A city turned a stronghold, something Kas ordered to aid their push into Yarno. This was where Jakery would do something on Ether's behalf.
Unlike the other previous encounters, this stronghold was designed for battle.
Properly placed platforms to allow Siege Cemtras to rain down on the invaders, Siege Weaver patrols and heavily armored Stram.
Jakery ordered his elites to split into groups and attack at once. One team being Suth, Quill, Valentine and Hizentre, led the charge to open up the gates.
"Okay, you four see that gate?" Hedix asked the team.
"Yeah, we're going to open those gates and allow our Ferals to rampage inside," Valentine answered.
Hedix grabbed the heavy gold plate over his chest and pointed at the right side. "Focus your energy on the very center of the gate, as shown by my finger. That will allow the others to demolish more of the gate, got it?"
Valentine nodded, his heart-shaped mask didn't make it clear at first. But his agreeing eyes assured Hedix his suggestion wasn't going through deaf ears.
Quill and Suth rallied their Thawed in front of Murmosa and Eterra. The two packs stood behind them so they could be the first to invade.
"Are we good to go?" Valentine asked between the heavy tension of their rally.
"We were waiting on you. Let's start this ordeal," Suth responded.
Kellenas unleashed an encouraging roar, lighting a raging fire inside the minds and hearts of every Thawed and Feral alike. They stormed towards the gates while bolts rained all around them.
Hizentre finally felt the urge to show everyone his Third Rule: he stopped running, then used his flail to sweep the area in front of him.
The others didn't have time to react to Hizentre's strange act. They had their attention on the gigantic bronze gate protecting the inside of the stronghold.
Explosions went off overhead, while Voltaic and Pyroatic Weavers looked for places to crash land into. The crackling sounds of thunder and deep rumbling sounds of moving magma caught Kellenas' attention.
He looked upwards and unleashed another roar, except this one struck fear into the minds of the incoming beasts. Despite being completely deaf, the Weavers still felt the roar. Causing them to stop advancing and retreat.
Armor deflected arrows, making sudden sharp sounds every half a second as they gained up on the gates. It was time for the warriors to do their work.
Some Thawed brought shields they would use to defend themselves and those around them. They took the lead and formed a line for the incoming Ferals to safely travel through.
But then an explosion went off beside them. Breaking the line and injuring Thawed and Ferals alike.
Kellenas and Risk alike both felt an unimaginable amount of rage towards the attackers. Both Alpha Males unleashed a roar loud enough to cause Cemtras to block their ear holes.
The remaining Infinus warriors took the opportunity to rain on them while their beasts recovered. A volley of arrows formed a cloud overhead, quickly raining down on the stronghold.
Most arrows didn't strike a target, but some found their way into victims. While a very few amount of arrows found themselves dealing huge casualties against the Light Legion.
Some triggered explosions that only encouraged Risk to continue his rampage against the Light Legion. The distant booms filled him with a strange mixture of euphoria and rage.
He ran under the shields while the Thawed tried their best to hold off against the heavy fire. Which increased by the second after the defenders realized what they were trying to do.
Risk grabbed a wee little popper and ignited the wick by pinching it and quickly dragging his finger across it. A seemingly harmless fire ignited and made its way down to the canister itself.
Before it blew up, Risk threw it at the gates. Which barely damaged it alone. So Risk ignited and threw all of his poppers at the gates, severely weakening it.
"THAWED! FORWARD INTO HELL!!!" Risk howled in anger.
Quill was the first one to respond. His blue hood and black helmet notified the Feral someone was finding their way towards the front, where the fun was going to take place.
He quickly picked up speed through most of the heated volleys of arrows, and slammed his body through the gate. A hole big enough to fit Ferals waited for the next phase.
So Kellenas and Risk happily agreed to lead their packs inside. The first inside was Risk, he notified his arrival by unleashing a devastating roar.
His Alpha Male brother joined him, Kellenas jumped through and encouraged Risk while discouraging the attackers.
Ferals from the Eterra and Murmosa packs flooded the inside. They clawed, bit, and stomped their way through the courtyard.
Risk laughed manically as he jumped on the back of a Siege Cemtras. He waited for it to pick up an armed explosive then punched the rough top of the beast's head, throwing their aim off.
Explosions went off, this time against the gate itself. Swinging it open, free for the Thawed and Zegi outside to rush inside.
After several more seconds of bashing the top of the beast's head, Risk got bored and effortlessly enraged the Cemtras by stabbing its eye with his dagger.
Its usually hazel eyes became an odd orange and submissive attitude turned into a hungry creature. Giving Risk an early warning before everything would go down hill from there.
He jumped off the Cemtras and ran towards another one. This other Cemtras was still calm and heeded the instructions its master said, but the enraged beast engaged the calm Cemtras.
Both creatures pummeled one another against wood, stone, and metal alike. Causing massive damages to the platforms overlooking the courtyard.
Valentine noticed this and took the opportunity to forge their blood into a weapon. Two battle-axes made from the never resting Cemtras blood formed in his hands.
He caught the attention of three defenders hoping to stop the invasion. Valentine formed a wall made of pure blood behind the first defender, keeping the other two from attacking.
The defender swung their broadsword at the bloody lover, but failed to notice the other axe. Valentine caught the edge of the sword with one, then he twisted the weapon and brought it below their waist.
He used the other axe to slice through the armor, flesh, and bone of the hand. Blood spewed all over Valentine as the defender cried out in pain.
Valentine tackled the defender through the bloody wall, shattering the wall in the process. All the shattered bits hardened and sharpened themselves, each one found their way inside of a victim.
Between the combat, Hizentre's attack from earlier finally kicked in. He stood before two rows of Light Legion warriors, each with their weapons drawn at the Thawed.
Just as they got closer, a sudden sweep cleaned the area. It was as if the flail had attacked, but it didn't move from Hizentre's back.
"Was wondering when you were going to use it!" Hazen spoke to Hizentre.
"Hazzy, can you tell Jakery this stronghold is ours for the taking?" he told his daughter.
"Will do!" Hazen responded. She connected her mind with Jakery's. "Hey, rally your men up and get in there!"
"Alright. Those Siege Weavers overhead are going to deal a number to us if we just rushed forward. Direct all of ours to combat theirs," Jakery ordered.
In response, Hazen did as she was told. Pyroatic Weavers turned their bodies and floated towards another Weaver. She was planning on turning the fights one sided by fighting one at a time, which worked.
Now with the attention of the Siege Weavers being redirected, most of the archers panicking at the enraged group of Cemtras inside, and the defenders occupied by the Infinus Legion elites, it was time to claim the stronghold.
