"Turns out the mute can only behave in such a hoity-toity way when there's the revered young master."
Ling Yi said condescendingly.
Luna drooped her head. The lips behind the mask curled...
Downwards...or was it?
Ling Yi naturally thought Luna was scared speechless. A sense of superiority erupted in her, prompting her to spew even more vicious words that were oh-so-becoming of a pampered, rich young missy who was taught manners from infanthood.
"How understandable that the young master would want to be seen with such an ugly, talentless, mute girl - it would amplify the greatness he already had deep in his bones."
Ling Yi's words caused the students to think that Noah was only doing this to obtain such a small, simple benefit from Luna and was not actually close to her. Such an attack was one that would make others difficult to find fault with her- she did not attack Luna aggressively, and stated a fact that all the students knew, the greatness specially imprinted deep in the 4 Young Masters' bones.
One could not deny that any of the Young Masters' greatness was indeed incomparable that any of the student placed beside any one if them would seem to have only one sole purpose; to serve as a prop that amplified their greatness, having these usually haughty and superior kids behaving themselves in such a degrading and ingratiating manner towards them.
It was a smooth attack, subtle yet aggressive, like a micro nuclear bomb, if such a thing could exist.
The audience now compromised of the students in the Hydrogen class, but the curious students have also came to watch the show. They threw mocking glances then and again towards Luna, whose shoulders were now trembling so badly.
Luna suddenly stood up.
She stared at Ling Yi who was very obviously disgusted at her face. Ling Yi covered her mouth as she made an expression as if she was about to vomit.
" Ugh..mm-hmm, now that wasn't very graceful of me, Miss Luna Emerald. There's just... a few things in this world that could, well..."
Trigger her, causing her to lose her composure- was what was left unsaid. The students naturally caught the hint, and the harsh critics and whispers directed towards Luna increased by a greater leap.
Luna's shoulders suddenly stopped trembling. She sat back again at her seat calmly, taking out her iPad and went about her own matters. She was now blatantly ignoring Ling Yi! It caused the latter's face to burn and turn red as the cherry tomatoes Luna had packed into her lunchbox.
Not willing to accept defeat but still wanting to mantain het image in front of the other students, she lowered her body a bit, placed her arm on Luna's chair and opened her mouth, wanting to say something.
Luna raised her hand.
Ling Yi's eyes glimmered brightly like a chandelier. If Luna hit her, she can sue her and seeing Luna was from a poor background, with her family's power she would send Luna to a youth detention centre, ultimately ruining her future. She could also cry and pretend to be forgiving in front of Young Master Noah when he returned to he classroom. He would then realize that such a barbaric, uncouth and uncivilized woman was not fit to be acknowledged by him, and would then look at Ling Yi.
She enjoyed her little daydream very much, that the corners of her lips curled up in a sugar-coated sweet smile while her eyes were filled with desire, greed and evil.
Suddenly an acute pain sprang up from her scapula and arms, prompting her to lift her hand. From an outsider's view, it would seem as if she was the one who wanted to get physical with Luna.
Hasty footsteps made their way to the classroom. And there it was -
The imposing aura unique to Rafael,
The quiet aura belonging to Noah,
The humorous aura from Emmanuel,
The gentle, jade like aura bestowed upon Adam.
But at this moment all 4 of them were exuding a dangerous aura, pressurizing the students so much they were paralysed to the ground in awe and fear.
Ling Yi's starry, infatuated eyes shimmered brightly when she saw Noah. She also noticed his friends and immediately a thought surfaced to her head.
Did they come because they wanted to protect me? Because I'm one of the ten heiresses of Grozeia?
Her mind wandered with countless possibilities. She saw Noah's face darkening, and figured that he must've finally realized such an ugly girl was just using him, yet she was taking his kindness for granted, fantasizing that the boy was courting her and resorted to act all mighty and high-up in front of them. Ling Yi's infatuated smile stretched up to her eyes.
Behind the 4 boys emerged a petite girl. She walked up to Ling Yi...
Or so she thought.
The girl offered her hand to Luna. Luna stared at her, before giving out her elbow. The girl grinned and hooked her elbow around Luna's.
This girl was the heiress of the 9th richest family in Grozeia- Camellia Tamont of the Tamont family. With her ash-blonde hair, emerald green eyes and fair, rosy skin it wasn't a wonder she was one of the most revered 'fairies' of Grozeia. She was also dubbed the country's little maiden.
Ling Yi widened her eyes as she saw Camellia taking Luna towards the boys, as Noah's face resorted to warmth and gentleness as his eyes landed on Luna. Bitterness surged from her heart before transforming to stubbornness and hatred.
All the students around widened their eyes. How did Luna came into contact with Camellia, and even made her act so friendly towards her? Camellia's temperament was one that would only befriend those she thought worthy.
When Noah first came to the school and befriended Luna, Camellia had came to visit him as she knew the friends Noah chose were always capable and worthy, therefore she was curious how such a person could emerge at an inferior school.
When she first met Luna she was instantly drawn to her. To Camellia, she wasn't haughty nor arrogant, she was just a bit cold. But most of all Camellia like the big sister vibes Luna was giving her and the sense of security and reliability to Luna just emerged out of nowhere in her heart, and instantly she became one of Luna's friends. Luna, although never expressed her dislike at Camellia's clinginess she never pushed her away either. Noah arrived at the conclusion that she also liked the girl, as she was able to mantain a good heart despite the fact that in the environment she grew up in most people, regardless of gender liked to look up to the strong and trample the weak. Camellia was also capable and didn't grew up into a spoiled brat despite being literally attended to like a queen by her 2 brothers, parents, and friends who were very fond of her. Luna liked Camellia's mindset that looked at one's capability instead of power, wealth and background because all this could fade away if a household's next generation could not hold up a candle to their peers. Therefore she soon warmed up to Camellia and their friendship grew closer than ever.
When she saw Luna was bullied by Ling Yi, she had wanted to help her, but then she remembered her family. As of now, she couldn't go against Ling family yet, but she could if...
A lightbulb switched on inside her brain.
Being the childhood friend of the 4 Young Masters she naturally knew of their secret room. She instantly ran, albeit gracefully, and what greeted her were the sounds of slashing swords.
She knocked impatiently and instantly burst in. The 4 boys were all eyeing her, weapon in hand, body relaxed and casual. She immediately told them what she had seen.
They had known how Noah considered Luna his only true friend at Tulips Jones and based on how Noah had told them about her they were instantly curious about her. To them, a friend of their brother's is a friend of theirs. Their protective streak instantly switched on, and they rushed to the classroom.
