CRYSTAL'S POV

RING!! RING!! RING!!

"Sweetheart! Your alarm has been going on for 30 minutes now! So for the love of God turn that thing off or I'll have to do it myself!"

"Huh!? Did you say 30? Shit! I really wanted to get there early"

I sprang out of the bed and slammed my hand on my alarm clock, finally making it shut up. Wasting no time at all I quickly got into the shower and began to wash faster than the speed of light. After a few minutes, I hopped out of my shower and began to vigorously dry my body and hair, brushing my teeth after. Making my way out of my bathroom I then swiftly made my way towards my closet, opening it revealing the wrinkle-free school uniform that took me about 20 minutes to iron last night by the way. I grabbed the uniform and began putting it on, along with my wristwatch and my socks as I started brushing my long purple hair.

Looking at myself one more time in the mirror making sure nothing was out of place, I quickly grabbed my fully charged phone and my backpack as I started speeding down the stairs.

"Be careful sweetheart! I just mopped the floor! You might-!"

THUD!

"-slip" My mom let out a sigh and before pulling me back up. I let out a pained groan as I rubbed my side.

"Is karma really getting to me right now? Just because I didn't want to mop the floor yesterday?!"

"It seems so, but never mind that. You have to eat now or you'll be late" My mom muttered chuckling at my clumsiness, making me roll my eyes. I then sat down lazily and just stared at my mom as she prepared my food.

"Hey, mom?" She hummed in response as her back was facing me.

"Why did you pick Wellston Highschool out of all the schools here?"

"Why do you ask? Do you not like it?!" She snapped her head towards me, giving me a sad look.

"No! I was just curious since I have to start living in the condo from now on. Leaving you alone here." I whispered the last part as she placed a plate with a stack of blueberry waffles in front of me.

"Well, since Wellston's the most prestigious school here it is also very secure, so I figured if you studied there you still get to learn something. Plus you'll be safe!" My eyes trailed down to my food as I started digging in.

"But how about you? I don't want to just leave you here. Why don't you just move in with me in the condo?" Mom let out a sigh as she took a seat beside me.

"You already know why right? If we both leave who would keep this house in tip-top shape. And besides, I still have work, don't I?"

"Yeah...your right"

After a few more bites here and there I finished my food. I stood up, grabbing my empty plate with me and placing it into the sink.

"I have to go now, mom!" I said turning towards my mom as I had my backpack on. Not a second later I was then suddenly engulfed in a tight hug.

"Be safe Sweetheart, remember to call me when you get settled in the condo. Understand?"

"Yes mom, I will...I will"

"Great! Now always remember."

"No boyfriends!"

"No boyfriends"

Mom chuckled as I just rolled my eyes. I opened the front door and turned towards my mom.

"Bye, mom! I love you! Wish me luck!"

"Good luck sweetheart! I love you too!"

After bidding each other farewell, I glanced towards the street and took a deep breath. with no more hesitation, I started charging forward and towards my new school. And as I did a song started playing in my head as I held onto the bag strap of my bag

Cause for the first time in forever~!

There'll be people, there'll be tea

For the first time in forever~

I'll be vibing through the night

After minutes of walking the streets, I finally reached the gates of Wellston Highschool.

So this is Wellston, I thought to myself as my eyes trailed over to the large building in front of me. I hope it's as good as it looks outside. As I began making my way towards the entrance of the school, from there I could already tell some students began murmuring amongst each other. It looks like they expected my arrival. Brushing the thought off I decided to find the Headmaster's office. Wandering the halls for a good 10 minutes, I finally manage to find the office. With a little help from one of the teachers, I passed earlier that is.

I let out a deep breath and sighed before giving the wooden door a soft knock. Seconds later I could hear a man say "Come in" from behind the door as I wasted no time and twisted the doorknob, peeking my head into the office. As I entered the room my eyes instantly landed on a green-haired man in the sitting middle of the room. So that's the headmaster?

He was sitting at his desk looking at some papers that were neatly stacked in a neat pile in one of his desk drawers. Without looking up he waved me over to him. I slowly walked over to his desk and stood to the side, waiting for him to finish his work. Putting down the paper in his hand, and he looked up at me and smiled.

"Crystal Nightingale?"

I nodded, then he proceeded to shuffle through the papers pulling out a folder. He handed it to me and I looked over it. It was just filled with the basic information I needed for school such as my schedule, and a map so I wouldn't get lost. I'll make sure to take a picture of this later

Glancing at it one last time before carefully placing it in my bag. Turning back towards the headmaster, he then began explaining the school rules, and some other basic things I needed to know.

"Well, that is all you need to know, for now, Ms. Nightingale. You better start heading to class now or else you'll be late, if you have any further questions feel free to ask the other staff members." I nodded my head at his final reminders slowly making my way towards the door.

"Yes sir. Thank you again"

Before I twisted the doorknob the headmaster called my name.

"Oh and one more thing Ms. Nightingale." I glanced over my shoulder to see the older man smirking as his hands were intertwined.

"Welcome to Wellston Highschool" I flashed a quick and grateful smile to the man as he did the same before I exited the office, feeling the first-day nerves get to me as I stepped foot into the almost empty hallway. I closed my eyes and let out a deep sigh.

Now...where is my class? I took out my binder and glanced over the schedule again.

It's on the other side of the building?! Maybe I should've checked it sooner, I might end up being late if I don't hurry. I closed the binder and stuffed it back in my bag.

Let's just hope I still can make it on time.

It took me a while, about 5 minutes until I finally managed to find my homeroom. And just as I entered the room the bell rang, making me let out a sigh. At least I made it here on time, let's just hope it's the right class, I then started to sweatdrop as I started getting nervous that I got into the wrong class by accident.

The teacher was standing in front of the room, watching me as I slowly walk over to her. As I stood beside the teacher I could feel everyone was staring at me which made me very uncomfortable.

"Hello! Are you the new transfer student?" The teacher asked in a sweet tone as I nodded my head. The teacher just smiled at me before turning around to face the rest of the students.

"Class we have a new transfer student! Please introduce yourself " She motioned for me to start introducing myself as I took a deep breath.

"Uh...hi, my name is Crystal Nightingale, it's nice to meet you all"

I smiled at my classmates but none of them smiled back. Wow, tough crowd huh. Fidgeting with my backpack, I waited for the teacher to tell me where to sit. She scanned the room, eyeing each student that sat near an empty desk. Finally, she concluded and pointed over at an empty desk in-between a blue-haired girl and a jet black-haired boy.

"You can sit there, next to...John and Elaine! John, Elaine please raise your hands"

Two of the students in the back of the room raised their hands, as I walked over to them. I sat my backpack down beside my desk and placed my binder on my desk. As the teacher started scribbling things on the blackboard my eyes started to wander over the classroom as I took in my new environment. So this is what Wellston high school classrooms look like, seems pretty cool.

While I doing my own thing, just minding my own business all of the students in front of me began to glance at me from the corner of their eyes from time to time, whispering something to one another. It seems like they rarely get any new students around here, I wonder why?

⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙

After a few more minutes of the teacher giving the last final reminders the bell rang. Everyone started to gather their things and leave the classroom. Just as I was about to sling my bag over my shoulder I felt a tap on my shoulder making me turn around. My eyes then landed on a blue-haired girl who I suppose was Elaine waving at me with a wide grin on her face. I didn't know what to do so I just flashed her an awkward smile, at least I hope it wasn't awkward.

"Hi! I'm Elaine! Nice to meet you!"

"Yeah, nice to meet you too"

The boy who I assumed was John turned to look in my direction. I glanced over my shoulder to see him glaring at Elaine, making me furrow my eyebrows. Why do I feel like something bad is about to happen? I turned back to face Elaine who was smiling sweetly. She was tapping her fingernail on her desk, making me sweatdrop.

"So! What ability do you have?"

My eye widened a little by her sudden question. I hung my head low as I just stared at the floor in silence, unsure of what to say. My ability is a very touchy subject so I don't really like telling people about it, especially not to those who I just met. A little voice inside me said to tell her the truth, but I knew I couldn't do that. The other students had become intrigued by our conversation and started whispering amongst themselves in the background as they slowly began surrounding us.

"I wonder what's her level?"

"Do you think she is a High Tier?"

"She's probably just like one of those useless cripples!"

"Maybe we could have a little chat later, and see what she's made of"

Judging by their reactions I guess this is a normal thing here. This doesn't look good. If this drags on more and more students would come to the classroom, and I really don't want to be late. I looked up back at Elaine and smiled, while everyone around fell silent waiting impatiently for me to answer.

"I don't think my ability is any of your business"

The other students whispered disappointingly at each other, and Elaine's smile was wiped from her face. Shaking her head discontented with my response. What is wrong with these people?

"But we're all curious to know what it is-!"

Before the girl could finish her sentence I grabbed my things and left the classroom. Leaving the blue-haired girl fuming with anger as she followed my figure out of the room. Sheesh! Can't a girl take a no?

I could tell that John was watching me walk away too, but I wondered why he got mad when Elaine asked me about my ability. Maybe he's a Low-Tier? I quickly ran through the halls, trying to get to my first class on time. I breathed a heavy sigh, glad I was able to avoid such a touchy subject.

⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙ TIME SKIP•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙

The bell rang and I jumped up from my seat eager to get Lunch, I heard from one of my classmates they were serving the triple chocolate cake in the Cafeteria today. They say it is being served only once a month, and you can't get it anywhere but here. Quickly stuffing my binder in my bag, I ran out of the classroom and into the halls. My mouth watering just thinking about the chocolate cake. When I reached the cafeteria, to my surprise there were a lot of students fighting over the chocolate cake like wild animals. I scanned the counter to see if there was any left, and to my surprise there was. So I quickly sprinted over to it and paid for it, claiming it as mine as I started running away from the other students. YEET!

As I was walking out of the cafeteria I could hear someone shout.

"Hey! New Girl!"

I flinched at their exclamation, but I just quickly shrugged it off. Maybe I'm not the only new girl here?

"Oi! You with the purple hair!"

Ehh?!

I snapped my head around and to my horror, everyone in the room was literally staring at me while I stuff my mouth with cake. Great! First Day of school and I already made a bad impression. In the middle of the crowd, I could see an orange-haired boy, waving his hands like crazy. I just glared daggers at him as his smile drops. No point in pretending to be nice, am I right?

Glancing beside him I could see 2 other people staring at me with confused looks on their faces. As I stared at the two a little more realization hits me, aren't they one of the 2 royals around here? While I was walking in the hallway earlier I overheard them talking about a pink-haired queen and a redhead jack. This gives me more reason to not go over to them.

Not wanting to get involved with any High-tiers or even Elite-tiers, I walked in the opposite direction dodging all of the other students. At least my eavesdropping saved me this time, who knew what would've happened if I realized it later. But the question now is...where am I going to eat my food? Well, I could just eat right here in the hallway but I might just attract more attention to myself. As I was walking through the corridor looking for a place to chill, I come across a sign on the wall. Rooftop? Great timing! I can eat here instead.

Without further hesitation, I started climbing up the stairs making my way over to the door to the rooftop. I gave in a small push and it opened with a loud creak.

Once I opened the door, my eyes landed on a magenta and green-haired girl leaning against the railing with her eyes glued to her phone. Glancing around the roof I noticed that it was only her and me up here, so I decided to take a seat on the other corner of the roof with a good distance between the girl and me. As I continued eating my cake I just sat there and watched the girl play games on her phone.

"So...are you the new girl? I haven't seen you 'round before."

Startled by her question, I almost dropped my cake. She had been silent before that, it scared me when she spoke. I looked over at her, she was still playing on her phone. She didn't even glance in my direction, let alone look at me.

"Oh uh ya, that's me. The new girl. My name's Crystal, Crystal Nightingale. What's yours?"

The girl yawned, shutting off her phone and placing it in her pocket before turning in my direction, keeping her poker face on.

"Seraphina, but you can call me Sera. I suppose you've heard of me..."

I shook my head confused. Was I suppose to? I was expecting a frown from her but to my surprise, she just smiled at me but in a more devilish way making me sweatdrop. And before I could even comprehend she stood up and slowly made her way over to me. As she did so I just sat there looking at her confused and a little scared, and before I knew it she took a seat beside me. I didn't question her about it since I was curious as to what she meant by "heard of me..."

I turned back to the girl as she let out a sigh.

"Finally. It's nice to not be ignored for once. Some students usually scare the new students by telling them of my evil queen ways." She said chuckling the last part.

After hearing her words I started mentally panicking. I'm not an expert about the hierarchy this school has going on, but from what my mom told me before I'm guessing that she's a queen, but wasn't the pink paired girl I saw earlier the queen? Or did I misheard?

The magenta-haired girl glanced over to me and noticed I was looking nervous. So she started getting worried

"Hey, I'm not the Queen anymore! Well, I used to be. But I'm the Ace now, so you don't have to be afraid of me. I'm best friends with a cripple for God's sake!"

I sucked in a nervous breath, she is still a high tier, still in a high position, no matter who her friends are. I need to be more careful. She looked at me again, confused why I was still looking nervous.

"So are you a Cripple? Is that why you're still really uncomfortable being around a High-tier like me? You don't need to worry I won't beat you up."

"No, I have an ability, but I'm a...Low-tier."

"Oh well, my ability is Time Manipulation. Want to share what's yours?"

I shook my head and she shrugged, taking out her phone, and started playing on her phone again. Deciding its time to leave, I stood up and threw my lunch in the nearby trash can. I was about to exit the roof until Sera called after me.

"You are in John's Homeroom right? Tell the cripple I said hi."

I nodded at her and left the roof. As I walked down the stairs, I just realized that Sera said John is a cripple, but I thought he has an ability? He has this kind of Aura that can send anyone running, but why was he hiding it? I wondered. Maybe, he was like me?
