There was nothing special about him at that moment. If I were to think about him at that moment I would have not thought anything worth feeling about him. He was just an ordinary young brother from the staff. He came, sat down, introduced himself, his name was Sanav and then our game began. He was playing it really well, obviously why wouldn't he, it was his daily job to play with the guests. I am usually an introvert, but as we continued the game I soon myself talking to him with free flow, till now I had told him about every detail on our trip. He was also talking to both of us freely. There was one thing I was uncomfortable with, that was the eye gaze. Yes! While talking he usually used to stare for long moments even if he weren't talking to me, he would stare at me, but it was not only case with me, I shortly noticed that he did same thing with Shakhi. I felt as if he was interested in me at beginning but as I saw him staring at Shakhi I thought he might be interested in Shakhi. Well I didn't want to jump on conclusions that were so not worth it. Then our conversation took turn and we were discussing the grades in which were studying. He asked me first so I replied that, "I am in grade 10th", then it was Shakhi's turn, she said," I am in grade 8th". Listening to her, he just panicked and said, "What! You are just 13 years old! I thought you might be in grade 11th. You look really mature compared to your age." On his reaction I again felt that he was into Shakhi. But I did not say anything. Few moments later Shakhi was bored and wanted to play something else.
They went towards TT table and started looking for the other racket. I was not interested in TT so I stepped towards the window near the pool table to feel the cool breeze. As I was looking out at the lake I heard someone asking me," Want to try pool miss?" I turned around and found Sanav setting up the pool table. I politely denied but he again said, "Please miss if you want to try please go ahead and yes do not worry about the cost it will be on me." Shakhi came across the hall and said to me, "Please let's play it. I have never played pool before, I want to try it once…please…please." I ignored her as everything on this trip was first time for her. But I answered to Sanav, "the cost is definitely not the problem, but I respect my mom, and she would not permit me to play pool that also without her permission." Shakhi once again popped in between before I could finish and said, "I will go and convince Aunty. Please let's play if she agrees. Please!" Before I could say anything she took her phone out and had already dialed mom's number. Meanwhile Sanav said to me, "it's ok if you don't know how to play I can teach both of you" I felt a bit awkward with his offer so I could not stop myself and replied," I made it clear that that I am not interested in playing it also my no interest in it does not mean that I do not know how to play it, so thank you for your offer but it won't be needed." I could feel that he had no intention of showing off or being generous instead he just wanted to leave a good impression on us so that we would give a good feedback about him when we left the resort. Such feedbacks carried a lot of weightage on the portfolio of the resort crew. But for that he did not need to spend his money. Few moments later Shakhi came back hopping and said," Aunty has agreed. Let's play..please...please..please" I said her," you can play if you want to, I won't be playing it. You can find me downstairs once you finish it." Without waiting for any further reply I started going down the stairs. As I was stepping down I heard someone requesting me to go back.
