To say Obedience felt anxious was an understatement, between knowing her son would finally meet his father and the weight being brought upon her by her greedy and selfish father, she didn't know which would make her throw up first.
"Breathe, Obbi." Maci says, running her slender fingers through Obedience's long red hair. "I am b-breathing. E-everyone b-breathes, Macilynn." Obedience says and Maci sighs. She wraps her arms around Obedience gently, humming a small tune quietly. "I h-haven't h-heard t-that since m-mother.." Obedience trailed off while thinking of her mother. "Calm down hun, Zeno and Sebastian are in the backyard playing and your father isn't in here." Maci says. Obedience nods and takes a few calming breaths.
"I have to leave now, are you going to be alright?" Maci asks and once receiving a nod from Obedience, she slips out of the back door.
Obedience takes a deep breath before bracing herself as she heard footsteps approaching the foyer. She adjusted the long sleeves of her royal laced gown.
The doors fly open, and Allen strolls in. The heels of his boots clacking heavily on the marble floor. He stops in front of her, reaching a hand out to tentatively brush her cheek with his finger. She flinches at the touch, her gray eyes closing and squeezing in anticipation for his next move. He drew his hand away from her face, and she felt her heartbeat pick start to race.
"Could you at least pretend to be happy I'm alive?" He asks, and although it sounded emotionless to anyone who heard the sentence, Obedience wasn't stupid. She heard the slightly upset tone he hid so well in his baritone voice.
"N-no..! I-it's not t-that..!" She exclaimed, whipping her head up to look him in the eye. As gray meets green, Allen is able to tell there are things his wife has had to endure during his five years of absence that have made her afraid, but only if he knew.
He relaxes his posture and once again reaches out, this time lightly grasping her upper arm and pulling her into an embrace. This time Obedience welcomes the touch, hesitantly wrapping her arms around her husband. "Don't be afraid to hug me.." he mumbles against her shoulder, burying his face in her neck. She nods and tightens her hold on his back, hugging him as tight as he was her.
The longer they held each other, the more comfortable Obedience felt with him. When they finally pull away, a light blush is decorating her freckled cheeks. He smiles lightly, before swooping down and kissing her passionately. She's taken by surprise when he does this, but nonetheless responds instantly with her own kiss.
Soon, the moment between husband and wife becomes heated, and they stumble towards the couch in the large foyer, and once there Allen pins Obedience to its cushions, noting how small yet adorable she looked underneath him. He continued kissing her, a light growl escaping his throat when Obedience lightly scratched his clothed back.
The two separate as someone opens the door to the foyer. "D-dammit, Arthur..!" Allen yelps, gathering himself and pulling Obedience up to sit as Arthur turns his head away, embarrassed. "What , am I not allowed to kiss my wife?" Allen growls lowly at Arthur. The blond male sputters, turning even redder. "I-I didn't know you'd be embracing like t-that..!" Arthur stutters. "What'd you want, anyways?" Allen asks, his focus solely on Obedience as he caresses her cheek delicately.
"The carriages are here…" Arthur says. Allen nods. "We'll be out in a moment." Allen tells him and Arthur nods before walking out. "W-what does he m-mean..?" Obedience asks. "I'm taking you to my land. Where you should have been since we married and I left five years ago." Allen says. Obedience nods. "I was w-wondering w-why I w-wasn't taken f-from the p-palace." Obedience says. "Funny, because the day after I left I sent men to come get you and take you to my land." Allen says, his eyes narrowed. "What if you got pregnant and I had no idea because you weren't on my land?" Allen asks, and at this Obedience looks down.
"What?" Allen asks, softly now. "I-I did g-get p-pregnant.." Obedience mutters, and Allen looks like his eyes are bulging out of his head. "Y-you.. w-what..?" He whispers and she feels tears prick her eyes. "Y-yeah.." she whispers back. "Did you.. did you keep it..?" He asks, looking her in the eye and wiping her tears. His eyes get wider as she nods. "You h-have a s-son.. his n-name is S-Sebastian T-Tobias W-Witcher." She says, and he jumps up excitedly, picking her up and spinning her around. He places Obedience back on her feet before kissing her passionately. "I have a son..!" He says, running a hand through his dark hair as tears brimmed his eyes. "Can I meet him..?" Allen asks. Obedience nods. "He's in t-the backy-yard." She says, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the back door.
"S-Sebastian! C-come here p-please!" She calls out, and Allen watches in astonishment as a little four year old comes running. "Yes mommy?" Sebastian asks, his greenish gray eyes sparkling in adoration for his mother. "S-Sebby, you r-remember I t-told you a-about y-your father b-being a k-Knight..?" Obedience asks and Sebastian nods. At this Obedience bends down, sitting on her knees and Allen does the same, wrapping an arm around his wife. "T-this is y-your f-father." Obedience says, and Sebastian's eyes light up. "Really!?" He asks and Obedience nods. Allen holds his arms open and Sebastian runs into them. Both Allen and Obedience tear up as they realize Sebastian is crying. "Hey.. why're your crying, squirt?" Allen asks his son, tears of his own beginning to well up into his eyes.
"I'm not crying because I'm sad..
I'm crying because I'm happy..!"
