Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

When I woke up, I felt a little bit itchy. I stood up slowly and the itch increased rapidly.

"Why is your face like this?" Chase asked me.

"What do you mean by..." Before I finished my statement, he held a mirror before my face. "What the..."

"Is this some kind of allergy?" He asked.

I was so confused myself. "I'm not sure." I tried to think if I had eaten anything I was allergic to.

"I'll suggest you see a doctor." Diego advised. "Today is Saturday afterall. Curfew ends by 10pm."

"I'll call my doctor right away." George said. "He's not too far."

My whole body itched turning my skin red. I tried to lie down on my bed but the itch seemed to worsen whenever I tried to do that.

"You're fixed for 10am." George said. "Which means we have to get ready now."

I nodded and head for the bathroom. The shower seemed to have made it worse.

I wore a turtle neck shirt over jeans so I could hide my skin's disfiguration.

After breakfast, George and I left for the clinic.

"George!" The man said pulling George in for a hug. "How are you doing?"

"I'm alright Dr. Fuller." George replied.

After a few tests, I discovered that a substance was added to my skin. Since I was unsure, the doctor advised me to check my belongings well.

When I got back to school, I decided to check e everywhere properly and I figured that someone spread grounded poison ivy on my bed.

"Why will anyone even want to do that?" Diego asked.

"I'm not sure either." I said. I thought of anybody I could suspect but I couldn't think of anyone.

"Relax, man." Chase said. "I'll make sure I find out who it was."

By lunch, the itch had subsided thanks to the ointment I was administered my skin was still red though.

"Hey guys." Chelsea said.

"Hi." I said.

"Leo, George texted me that you were going to the hospital because of an itch you developed overnight." Sophie said. "Are you alright now? We were worried sick."

I smiled. "Thanks for caring, Sophie but I'm fine now."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I am sure, Sophie." I replied.

We spent the rest of lunchtime chatting about things we did it planned to do for the weekend.

"We should hangout tomorrow." Chelsea said.

"Hangout?" I asked.

"Of course." She said. "Bills on me."

We finally agreed to go and try eating at the new hangout spot in town. Grillz.

After lunch, we head back to our dormitories. As we entered the living room, I noticed the crowd.

I pushed my way through and saw Chase and Diego holding Delvan.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Delvan was the one who spread poison ivy on your bed.

My eyes widened. How cruel was the world? Delvan was the most innocent boy in the house. Or so it seemed.

"I...didn't...mean...to...do...it." He said slowly. He was out of breath already. "I swear." He paused again. "She promised to pay me a lot."

"Who?" I asked in curiosity.

"It... was... Ava Miller."

My heart pounded hard against my chest. That happens only when I'm scared or extremely angry and this time around I was not scared of anything or anyone.
