Chereads / THE ONE I WASN'T EXPECTING..... / Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

Everything at Westfield Academy screamed expensive. The doors, the walls, the flowers and even the air. Actually, I didn't expect less from the school most expensive school in town.

After the orientation given to new students, we were asked to pick random cards that were supposed to help us get to know our houses.

Westfield Academy had six houses. Boston, Brooklyn, Beverly, Oakland, Washington and Savannah. I picked Beverly.

The block was so awesome. At the entrance, the logo was boldly painted. Since the house color was Purple, the building had hints of the color.

The house captain, who introduced himself as Mason gave us a quick orientation stating the rules, basics and ethics of Berverly House.

"This is the Berverly House's multipurpose hall where we have our meetings and spend leisure time." He said. "From the corridor, girls rooms are by the left while boys rooms are by the right.

After all the long boring talk, I was finally appointed a room. Each room had four people. I was in room 14.

I could hear music blaring from the room as I stood behind the door. I muttered a quick prayer before opening the door slowly.

The boys stared at me as I walked in.

"Look, Prince charming just walked in." One of them said.

I tried so hard to hide the blush that was forming. It would be quite embarrassing if I didn't. "Hi, I am Leo Patel and I..."

"No one asked you to introduce yourself." Another guy said.

I was shocked but I controlled myself. "S.. Sorry."

The guys stood. "No one asked for your apology either." He said. "Come on, Chase, let's roll."

I watched them in surprise.

"Diego and Chase." I turned to see the speaker. He was no doubt a nerd. "Try not to pay attention to them. They're always acting like they own the world." He said and stood. "Hi, I'm George Smith."

"Leo Patel." I said shaking his outstretched hand.

"Welcome to room 14, Leo." He said.

"Thanks."

"Let me help you with your things."

"Right, thanks."

He helped me unpack my things and settle in.

"Thanks for the help, George." I said.

"It's nothing." He said. "I just enjoy being friends with good looking guys."

I was confused. "What?"

"Aren't we friends?"

"We are..." I paused. "We are."

"Great." He said. "So, what are you?"

"Junior."

"That's awesome !"He said excitedly. "I'm in the 11th grade too."

"Cool."

"I'll introduce you to my friends later." He said. "That's if you don't mind."

"Of course not."

George was quite a talker but he did helped me a lot by letting out some of the 'hidden secrets' of Westfield Academy.

The bell rang and George told me that it was time for dinner.

According to George, first dinner was always formal and involved a lot of speeches.

George led me to a table with two girls sitted.

"Hi girls." George said.

"Hey George." They said simultaneously.

"Girls, meet my new friend, Leo Patel." He said. "Leo, my best friends, Sophie and Chelsea."

"Hi!" They chorused flashing smiles at me.

"Hi." I said with a nervous smile.

"See? I told you you're charming." George whispered.

"Yeah, thanks " I said. "Do we get to meet your friends now?"

" They are my friends." He whispered. "Not many guys want to be friends with a geek."

I smiled. "Well, I am now."

He smiled back. " Thanks."

"What are you two saying?"Chelsea asked. "Nothing." George replied.

"I..." I was interrupted by a buzz. " What's up with the buzz?"

"The principal is on his way here." He said. " He'll be here to give us a welcome address."

I rolled my eyes. Speeches were just not my thing.

After the speech which almost lasted forever, we started eating. The food was mouthwatering.

I have always had a kind of phobia for girls but as I got to know Sophie and Chelsea better, I found out that being friends with girls wasn't so bad afterall.

Sophie was prettier and more reserved than Chelsea. She talked once in a while. I figured she was interested in so many things I loved like Star wars, Cardi B and other things.

Chelsea, like George, was the talker, is cute way though. I loved her spirit and her words showed off intelligence.

"It was nice meeting you, Leo." Sophie said.

My heart melted but I acted cool. "Nice meeting you too, Sophie." I replied. Chelsea forged a cough. I got the memo. " And you too, Chelsea."

After we said our goodbyes, George and I left for our dormitory.

As we walked, we talked about a lot of things and I figured he was actually interesting on the inside.

Luckily, when we got to the room, Chase and Diego were not in yet.

As I laid on my bed, I thought about the whole day. First day at Westfield Academy wasn't as bad as I thought. Everything was perfect. A new school, a new life, new friends and a crush. Not bad for a first day at school.
