I couldn't help but notice the looks of shock,resentment,disgust and admiration from the students. I was pretty sure they were all thinking that I was some kind of monster to hit a dude with that attack.To be fair he was aiming to do the same thing to me.
Ok maybe I took this whole thing a bit too far but either way he was still alive and the school had top line healers on standby so the guy should be fine,save for the numb feeling he would have all over his body after taking a direct Lightning bolt to his skull.
I walked back to my seat and Myah cuddled up next to me. I didn't know why she was still doing that. She was perfectly safe at least for now so she didn't to be clingy. But I didn't complain to her openly though. I didn't want to make her sad or feel bad.
"You smell like electrocuted meat", Myah whispered. I felt like she'd hit me in the head with a rock. "Does that smell good or bad?", I asked her smiling.
" No not in the slightest. Its nauseating ", She said. Even though I was smiling I felt like laying it into her then but I let it slide. From her tone she was just being honest. But honesty could be a bitch sometimes.
It wasn't long before it was time for Zack and I to face off. It was what everyone had been waiting for really. While I decided to walk into the arena, Zack literally jumped from his seat in the bleachers and landed a few meters away from me. He was grinning insanely. I kept a straight face while looking at him. Mrs William raised her hand high before bringing it down,"Begin",she said.
Zack wasted no time in closing the gap between me and him. I'm not going to lie he's fast.
But I was faster. I dodged his blow easily and leaped over his leg swipe easily. He spun around so quickly I almost didn't see him come at me. I narrowly dodged a savage kick to my head by ducking in time. But he managed to spin around and bring his leg down hard on my shoulder forcing me to one knee. I grunted and threw his leg off,spinning I punched him hard in the guts, sending him flying into the wall. The force shook the stadium. He was on me in seconds with that insane grin and I found my self dodging and blocking his furious blows and kicks which he threw with lightning speed and precision and the speed was picking up too. I brought my leg in a savage arc but he disappeared. I looked up too late to see him coming down on me from above with a heavy kick. I blocked the blow from above by crossing my arms above my head. But I received a blow to my chest instead sending me flying into a wall.
I was stunned. I knew he was a good fighter but this was beyond what I'd thought. But it was thrilling at the same time. I leaped out of the walk only for him to drive me back into it simultaneously with a ferocious blow to my midsection. I kicked him hard in the face, driving him back. He wiped his face and spat out blood. He grinned again clenching his fists. I grinned back and brought my fists up. This was going to be fun. We clashed, our fists meeting first before we started throwing heavy billows and kicks at each other relentlessly. This was fun, no thrilling. I could feel my blood boiling. Zack was strong, really strong but It wasn't enough to beat me if I was going all out. I had intended to end this with one blow but now I didn't want to ,no I wanted to feel the thrill of fighting him. I didn't get this feeling from fighting monsters all the time.
Suddenly Zack threw a heavy kick aimed at my neck. I blocked it easily but it drove me sideways a bit. He was on me again and wasn't giving me any breathing space to come up with anything. Truth is I don't want to. I wanted to beat him without a plan.
Zack clasped his hands together and brought them down hard on the back of my neck, making me stumble a bit in a daze. In that split second he grabbed me by the face and leaped into the air he spun and threw down towards the ground. I fell hard making a small crater before he came down in me with a savage blow to the guts. I coughed blood, making Myah scream in fear.
Zack raised his hand for another blow to finish me off. But that definitely wasn't happening. As he brought his fist down I was behind him in seconds and with a direct blow to the back of the head I knocked him down and bouncing into the wall. I was on him again and grabbing him by the face I drove grim along the walls of the arena before throwing him into the center where I fired a heavy kick to his right ribs. I could hear the the sound of one or two of then breaking.
Zack gritted his teeth, biting back the pain and grabbing my leg he raised me up and flung me face first into the ground. But instead of letting go he raised me up again and flung me at the arena walls.
"Mrs Williams this fights been going on for a while and they both seem pretty beat up, why not stop the match and declare a winner?", Luke asked calmly. "They both to seem to be capable of continuing so why should I ?", Mrs Williams said plainly, mesmerized by the fight before her.
Luke flinched a bit at that but said nothing. He wondered if Mrs Williams was waiting for one of them to kill the other. That would be absurd the authorities would never let her sleep with a dumb mistake like that on her record.
I leaped from the wall as jack came at me,driving me back with a spear into the wall. Coughing blood from the force of his spear I brought my elbow down hard on his back. He gasped as the wind was knocked out of him. I kicked him off of me and leaped after him. He hit the ground hard as I came down in him. Punching him hard in the guts I raised him up and off the ground with my right hand. I was breathing heavily mad bleeding from above my eyebrow and my clothes were pretty damaged too.
Zack was in a similar condition but his was a bit better than mine. He glared down at me as I balled my fist. In a split second he wrapped his legs around my arm and twisting himself savagely we both spun to the ground hard and I could hear the sound of my bones breaking in my arm. Crying out in shock I pulled my arm free and looked as it flopped at my side. As I looked up I blocked just in time as Zack fired a heavy blow aimed at my face. I caught it simultaneously and threw him to the ground and with a savage kick I broke his right arm. He cried out loudly in rage and pain.
He kicked me hard in the guts sending me flying backwards into the walls. He had some pretty heavy kicks at his disposal. Even if you blocked it the force would send you flying.
I needed to end this. I grabbed my broken arm which happened to be my right and with a grunt I snapped it back into place. I flexed my fingers and looked at Zack who was struggling to get off the ground.
Planting my feet firmly in the ground I blasted towards Zack in a direct bull charge. A mistake. He spun into the air and with a kick clothes lined me in the neck. Spinning me in a savage arc. I managed to land on my left hand and pivoting on it I jumped into the air a few meters above Zack who gasped in shock. With a cry of rage, I punched Zack hard in the jaw driving him into the ground and knocking him out instantly.
I stood above and sat blood from my mouth. I walked away from his unconscious form and to the med-bay.
On the way I noticed the other students were leaving as well. I saw one of the girls from my class coming out with Myah beside her. She pointed in my direction and Myah ran towards me She literally ran into me and stared crying while holding me tightly. I hadn't healed yet so it really freaking hurt but I just had to man up and endure it.
" Are you ok Kai. He hurt you pretty bad and you're bleeding a lot it's going through your clothes. You're hunter you should've been able to beat him easily. And as a hunter you should've been able to heal in the middle of the fight so why didn't you?!" She was crying and shouting in my torn jacket. I wasn't really used to this sort of thing so I just did what they did in the movies and placed my hand on her head. I didn't want to tell her that I had wanted to feel the thrill of the fight and that was why I'd done what I did. She'd only get more worked up.
" Well I can't let some of the students know I'm a hunter already because it would cause a few problems. And it's a long story to so let's go for now and I'll explain later" I said calmly and smiled at her.
But I didn't get off that easy because Ari started to cry a little when she saw me and Cara knowing fully well why I hadn't gone all out punched me in the guts twice. Emmanuel didn't say anything, he just helped me out. We moved toward the school park and sitting down on the grass I healed myself. I didn't really care if anyone saw me then because Ari and Cara both knew healing magic already so it would be easier to say one of them had healed me.
