Marie ran into the fire with the boy and soon came out with two bodies. They placed the mother and daughter next to each other and Aural was surprised to see that the bodies hadn't caught any fire. "They aren't breathing," the guard said and Marie nodded.
"This isn't good." She said as she checked their pulses again. "I found this at the side of the spirit's body." He said and gave it to Marie. Aural came closer to see that it was the veil, seemingly undrunk and still full. Who would have thought? "This was probably for the princess, all that sneaking out and trouble, just for a blue veil." Marie said with sadness in her eyes.
She turned to the princess's body and got on her knees. She opened the princess's lips and carefully let the contents of the veil spill into her mouth. They waited with anticipation but nothing happened.
