"Let us hope, it's by the time where we are not around." The guard said and I nodded at that. The further they were from this mess the better. It wouldn't be wise for them to witness everything that was about to take place. Especially when it came to pain and destruction.
"Which book would you like me to bring out for tonight?" The guard asked as I took a seat by the chair. "Bring out his favorite one…" I said as I looked out the big window. When the book was safely in my hands I gestured at the guard to leave and when the door shut I let out a heavy breath.
I turned to the book in my hands and ran my thumb over the cover as I reminisced in the memories of reading a chapter to my son.
