Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: Angels POV: The Escape

Song Recommended: Love And War By Fleurie

"Aural, this is crazy, you know we aren't allowed to be here!" her friend whispered, fear feeling her aura as they sneaked their way to the gates of Heaven. They weren't allowed to be close to it, they weren't supposed to leave, they weren't supposed to be anything that could lead to trouble

But Aural had too much curiosity for her own good.

Elizabeth knew this yet she loved her best friend so much that she would do anything for her, including making sure she didn't get hurt but this was pushing the boundaries. She had warned her friend but for some odd reason, she wanted to see the earth for what it truly was. She wanted to be human and see what they saw in their eyes.

They were born as angels, children of the great archangels, and they weren't supposed to have thoughts about the ways of living. They were raised to be innocent, to stick to the life where nothing was painful and where everything was as everyone desired. They didn't have to worry about money or clothing or even worry about their ages.

No here, all they had to do was just be perfect.

Yet that wasn't enough for Aural, no she wanted to know what was the difference between all the beings. She wanted to see everything for what it truly was, not hear it from another person. The angels, many of them, saw earth as a place of dirt. They looked down on earth because of the thoughts and desires that crossed their livings. They looked down upon them because many of them craved something other than being perfect yet for some odd reason they didn't know what perfect was.

Aural wanted to see why they made their decisions. She wanted to feel what they felt, she wanted to feel the objects they used, she wanted to not be perfect and see if the life the higher beings lived was the life that was truly perfect. She wanted to be alive with a choice… but that wasn't truly possible.

Angels couldn't just come to earth, no, they needed to be assigned to it. Every angel was trained and then given a purpose. Every purpose different, either to go on earth and guardians. To work with prayer requests, to be guards, to be teachers and so much more.

The ones that were always with God, was the archangels, those were the ones with greater power but they were the ones that followed the rules closely.

Aural was the daughter of the archangel closest to God and it bothered her father at times to know that she was so curious about the earth.

Many times she had asked more questions than others, she had always asked him to show him what it was, how it was but he was always hard on her. Banning her from even asking him the simplest question about it.

Yet now he had no clue that because of his resistance, she had fallen in love with the idea of how the earth could be. She had watched, waited, and counted. Practiced and made sure to know how to get to the gates.

She had paid more attention than she had in the lessons of Heaven and now here she was. With her best friend, waiting for the guard to open the gate so that the first arrivals would be welcomed.

The arrivals were the first group of ten angels that were brought into heaven from earth.

Pronounced dead on earth, they were judged and deemed worthy of coming into heaven. Every five minutes, ten souls were brought to the gate and then checked in to it with instructions and guardians to assist them.

They wouldn't be able to fully remember earth or their deaths as their souls needed to rest in peace yet their hearts would always tug at something.

Even though it would be rare.

In anyone's mind, this would probably not be the time to leave heaven but because Aural had studied this for too many nights. She knew that when the gates opened all guards were focused on welcoming the souls, at times leaving a wide space for angels to slip through. Which rarely ever happened, there were usually two ways to leave heaven.

It was either to be assigned with the permission of God or for one to be kicked out of heaven. Aural wasn't planning on either, all she wanted was for a few moments on earth. Just a few, to witness and to feel. That was it.

As soon as she saw the angels begin to move towards the carrier, she knew it was now or never.

"Let's go," she whispered to Elizabeth. Yet she felt as though she was talking to a stone as she received no response, when she turned she saw Elizabeth slightly shaking. She could smell the very fear from her, she shook her head and rose herself up just a bit.

"I… I ca-an't… no I shall not… this is against the very rules. This is disobedience. Aural… let us repent before our fathers disown us. Before they cast us out and we live in eternal flames. Eternal domination. I don't want to be caught." Elizabeth whispered towards her friend.

Aural was not pleased by the words that had just left her friend's mouth, not long ago her friend had been the one to encourage her towards this ambition and now here she was cowering in fear.

It nearly made her mouth snarl in disgust but she shook her head and realized she was alone in this. She felt the fear knock on her doors but she didn't twist the knob to let it in.

No, she counted to five and sprinted forward, leaving her friend behind whispering rage, warning her to not do it.

Did Aural pay any attention to her?

No

By the time the gates had closed, her wings had opened up and she had begun to fly towards earth.
