Chapter 2 - 2. Ivy, the kitten.

After a long time, when he thought that she has calmed down as much as she could, Lyle slowly walked towards the entrance and opened the door swiftly.

''Wow... so this is what an empty library feels like.'' Lyle exclaimed loudly acting as if he does not expect anyone to be here and that he was all alone. He strolled in slowly while his eyes looked left and right as if he was really just strolling in the library.

Ivy, who was still seated on the ground quickly stood up in shock at the voice of someone and wiped her face to get rid of those tear marks.

She really didn't want to be seen in a messed up condition like this. She had to clean up the mess that she created so she squatted down, picked up her broken phone and stuffed it in her pocket before picking up the books that had been scattered. At some point in time, Lyle had already reached where she was and was standing right behind her.

''Yo... I didn't think there would be another weirdo like me who would come to the library on the sports day.''

His voice made Ivy jump in shock. She felt very irritated and wanted to throw a punch on that face if his but she had to maintain her persona so she stopped herself from saying those hundreds of words of criticism she had ready in her mouth.

Instead, all she said was, ''I was here to get some references for the research we have to submit.''

''Wow... so even our 'simple girl from the book' didn't complete the research.''

The way Lyle said and emphasized on the words 'simple girl from the book' made Ivy want to curse right at his face.

'Fuck. So what if I didn't complete? Is that a problem? You piece of goofy looking shit.' But ofcourse, all these were just her thoughts. No matter how wildly she cussed at him inside, from the outside, she still looked like that innocent looking 'simple girl from the book' and all she actually said was, ''I'll be leaving since I got the book I need.''

The way she walked with her head a little low and the book tightly hugged infront of her chest made her look very timid and soft. Ofcourss Ivy, who was tightly hugging the book only did so inorder to control her anger. While she walked, her back facing him, she unleashed all the words she had stuck in her mouth.

Lyle who was watching Ivy all along felt a different type of emotion hit him. He didn't know, but the corner of his lips were gently curled upwards, his eyes never leaving her.

''I can bet a 100 bucks that this little timid looking kitten cussed at me a thousand times in her heart.'' Lyle softly muttered as he giggled at the thought of her cussing at him. He couldn't help but compare her to a kitten brandishing it's claws. They both looked cute and lovable in his mind, maybe even more so in the case of the former.
