To warriors, canyons and gullies were nothing more than trivial. As the indistinct shadows of both men, a burly and a strong slender figure, leaped across vast distances from one footing to another as jagged stones pointed up like spears, ready to impale any mortal man, could be seen under the gaps.
Although it seemed like a big issue to us, the immense amount of power they unleashed was nothing more than commonplace for them. Their breathing was under control, and there was no sign of fatigue on their faces or in their eyes.
Shortly afterward, both of them arrived at one of their groups, where they shared information about the smoke and the Hunting Chieftain's order; after that, they set out to find their other group; and a few minutes later, as a result of their superhuman strength and endurance, all groups appeared before the Hunting Chieftain with not a trace of discontent or perspiration on their faces.
They were waiting for their other groups to arrive, as the Hunting Chieftain, who was a man of great judgment and experience under his belt, was perched on the rim of a canyon with his tribal warriors, staring out at the distant smoke.
"Let's get this search party underway now that everyone has arrived."
With a serious expression on his face and the customary hand gesture, the Hunting Chief instructed his men to form a formation.
The tribal members went boldly and swiftly to their various positions on a fight.
If you look down from above, you can see that the tribe is assembling in a manner similar to how birds gather while migrating through the woodland.
An arrow-shaped human formation is shown on the ground. Although it gives long-range combatants a broader field of vision, it also offers safety for those who are able to stay inside the formation.
They proceeded slowly and steadily ahead, their individual weapons drawn and their bows primed in case of an unforeseen ambush. They were not frightened. Just cautious. The smoke ahead of them could already be seen through the haze in the distance, and they were on their way.
While moving, the ruptured earth underneath their feet resonated beneath their boots, and their features were furrowed in looks of serious concern.
Their attention was fixed on the distance and into the small tribe ahead of them as the Hunting Chief stood at the forefront of the arrowhead, gazing forward as they waited for a few minutes under the shroud of the rocks.
The small tribe had been totally destroyed in their vision. Structures, shelters, and even scrap pieces of materials have been seized by the opponent's troops.
Many homes have been completely destroyed, leaving only charred remains in their wake, and for the time being, just a thin plume of smoke can be seen rising from the ashes.
After realizing that there were no survivors left in the small tribe, Hawkeye turned to look into the distance. He also came to realize that the enemy had apparently vanished as well, as their silhouettes could not be seen even while they hid for a short time under the cover of some large boulders in the nearby field.
Hawkeye concluded by wordlessly shaking his head in the direction of the others, indicating that there are no living beings in the area and that it is acceptable to proceed.
Despite the fact that the tribal warriors, including the Hunting Chieftain, heaved a sigh of relief, their spirits were raised to a certain degree; nevertheless, they remained cautious as they carefully approached the small tribe and put foot in the burned remains.
After taking in the pungent scent of charred flesh in the air, the Hunting Chieftain shakes his head slightly, but his face soon returned to normal as he ordered his tribe's warriors to scour the surrounding area for signs of life.
The Tribal Warriors reacted appropriately, dividing themselves into two groups of men, not only to make themselves safer but also to be able to survey the perimeter of an expanded area of space. They were efficient in their task.
"This place has been emptied down to its very last drop, unfortunately." In the ground, Boarfang crouched and softly hit an ebony plank of wood, which crumbled very quickly beneath the power of his blows.
Their results of a comprehensive investigation of the surrounding area led Hawkeye to conclude, "On the surface, definitely. However, knowing the folks who have lived here for a long time, there are generally some mechanisms around here someplace," he said. As he made his way over some collapsing buildings, he stamped his feet a bit on the floor, and he soon heard the sound of a hollow underneath him.
"Bingo." Then Hawkeye motioned for Boarfang to follow him as he bent down and swept the ash away with his hands, before tossing the mat that had been there before and opening some kind of subterranean basement that was pitch black, but with their strength, mere darkness will not hinder their progress, as they already have a slight ability to see in the dark thanks to their eyes' natural ability to see in the dark, after crossing into a higher realm of power.
The fact that it was pitch black, a chilly breeze wafted through the air as the darkness waited for them to take the first step into it.
"It'll be after you..." Hawkeye stated this with solemnity as he stepped back to enable Boarfang to assume the position of leadership in front.
Boarfang charged forward without a moment's hesitation, his massive battle axe tightly gripped in his broad arms, his muscles contracting unconsciously as he did so. As soon as any of his opponents entered his zone, his battle axe would take over and do the taking for him.
The slight squeaking of the floors could be heard rebounding around the room even in the midst of total darkness. Boarfang noticed a pungent stench in the distance that reminded him of the smell of rotting flesh. He turned around to confront the issue.
It was problematic for Boarfang to maneuver about in such a small space, especially since his huge battle axe was severely restricted in its effectiveness as a result of the tight quarters. He ducked his head many times, having already hit various wooden structures with the front of his head.
Every step he makes brings him closer to the thing that was releasing such an offensive odor, and with each stride he takes, the hazy shadow of the person can be seen in his eyes.
Boarfang came to a full halt in his tracks as he saw the hazy figure in the distance. No matter how courageous he is, the fear of the unknown still haunts every man who is still alive, even him, no matter how brave he is.
In a heartbeat, a firm hand was put on his shoulder, sending shivers down his spine as the battle axe began to speak.
