It was the first time Allan had been in a forest, he had been in game forest before, but nothing can compare to the real thing, and this was just like the real thing.
Even if he knew this was just a game, Allan couldn´t help but feel nervous and the advice of Tom of ´go, kill something and come back´ strangely wasn´t helping.
As Allan went into the forest the sounds of nature became more and more apparent, the sound of insects and the wind caressing the leaves of the trees had an indescribable charm that made Allan ... lower his guard.
BAM
Without even noticing how Allan walked by, he ended up with his face on the ground, he got up as fast as possible, grabbed his weapon and positioned himself to face whatever attacked him.
Allan looked at his opponent and saw… a tree.
Yep, Allan was so distracted that he didn't see that he was going to trip over the roots of a tree until it was late.
This is definitely not the way Allan imagined his first combat in the game would be, much less did he imagine he would lose it.
Fortunately, Tom was not with him, if it were the case his laughter would be the only sound that could be heard in the surroundings.
After imagining for a few seconds Tom laughing like a madman, Allan sat up as if nothing had happened and continued on his way, this time more alert.
After walking for a few minutes through the forest he came across his target, a couple of bunnies.
He silently approached his target with his sword poised to finish them off before they knew what had happened.
Unfortunately, bunnies are forest dwellers while Allan was a guest at best. The moment he got too close to the rabbits they detected him and started running away. Still, Allan had no intention of giving up so easily.
After a month of sword training Allan had reached level 10 and could leave Tutorial Island at any time, however, Allan decided to stay so he could learn from Tom. Which means the low-level bunnies couldn't outrun Allan.
In a moment Allan reached one of the rabbits, raised his sword and:
-60 (disabled)
The sword pierced the rabbit's leg from side to side and his health decreased by a fifth.
Seeing his partner being attacked, the bunny turned around and attacked that giant, ugly and deformed being that was chasing them with a head butt.
Allan was surprised, but even so he could barely raise his guard to take the impact.
-20 (Blocked)
Although Allan was able to protect himself from the blow, the shock almost made his sword slide from his hands.
Before the rabbit could back down, Allan thrust his sword at the rabbit and threw him into a tree.
BAM
-10 (stunned)
After falling to the ground after impact, Allan moved as fast as he could and attacked him with his sword.
-200 (critical hit)
After that, it was easy to finish off the two bunnies before they could attack Allan again.
After calming down from the combat Allan examined the little animals.
Level 8 Rabbit (Dead)
Level 6 Rabbit (Dead)
After watching them for a few moments, Allan didn't know how to feel.
Obviously, the rabbits were not real, they are game data, however, in other games the monsters attack you with the naked eye or ignore you.
The moment Allan approached them, they decided to run away instead of attacking, when fighting against them they felt alive like those in the real world, well, if the real-world bunnies had enough strength to break your bones.
Another thing Allan realized was that bunnies were weak.
In Tutorial Island there is a very scarce variety of monsters; rabbits, wild boars, wolves and goblins. The bunnies were at the bottom of the animal chain, and they were literally the weakest beings on the Island. Even so, it took a lot of effort to take care of two rabbits he had ambushed.
In spite of everything, he did not think that his efforts this week were in vain. Allan could easily imagine what the result would have been if he had not received training from Tom, sword or not, he would have been defeated.
That is why he was very happy that his efforts were bearing fruit. This reaffirmed Allan's decision that his theory was correct.
When the game company said that in the game you could learn skills, they were telling the truth.
Everyone associated that phrase with the incident that happened years ago of transferring information directly to the brain, but in reality, learning occurs in exactly the same way as in real life, through effort and hard work.
It is precisely for this reason that some people obtained skills with levels higher than 1, because those people had already learned it before and had a certain dexterity in the skill before coming here.
So, what is the difference between learning skills here and in the real world?
Apart from the 1: 4 scale time dilation, the biggest distinction is that the skills taught in the game are taught by the game itself.
When you learn a skill from another person in the real world, you can only learn what that person knows and you try to advance in the skill and improve it on your own when your teacher cannot teach you anything else, that is why for thousands of years the preservation of knowledge of our ancestors was vital to the development of the human race.
The skills learned in the game are different, let's take as an example the sword art that Allan learned from Tom, Tom in this case being the proxy of the system.
When the game recognized that Allan had learned the skill it classified it as ??? ´Beginner swordsmanship level 1´, this means that the game has created a learning procedure which will be applied to the player who wishes to learn the skill until reaching a system capable of generating millions of kilometers of virtual terrain which is populated with inhabitants capable of logical thinking has qualified as the complete mastery of the skill.
I don't think there is anyone who can say that they have mastered a skill to the point of being perfect up to now.
That is why jobs are so important in the game, they are the ways to learn the different skills of the game.
That's Allan's theory, and his learning and using a skill in a game designed to simulate the real world as closely as possible shows that those skills could also be used in the real world.
After relaxing a bit, Allan became alert again in case he was ambushed, with the rabbits in his bag, turned and left.
Fortunately, Allan found no incident on the way back and forth to the point where Tom was waiting for him on the outskirts of the forest.
"Hahaha, look at you! You look terrible" said Tom while laughing at Allan
Certainly, his appearance was horrible, it seemed that he had been in that forest for days and not the half hour that actually happened.
"Very funny" said Allan without a smile in his face.
"Sorry, sorry, it must have been tough, I didn't think you were that weak," said Tom without any intention of stopping.
After a few minutes Tom said:
"Well, that's enough, did you bring what I asked for"
"Yeah, here I have it," Allan said as he pulled the rabbits out of the bag.
"Hey? What is this thing supposed to be? " Tom said really stunned when he saw the rabbits.
