The next day I was preparing for my meeting.
"Maxton. Please go set up my office. I need to go alert Persephone that Nicholas is coming."
"Yes sir." He replied.
Maxton had short cut blond hair. He was tall, but shorter than me, and he definitely had the look of a butler.
I walked back to Persephone's room.
*knock knock*
"Come in!" Persephone called in a sweet voice.
I opened the door and walked in. Persephone was tending to some flowers with her dainty hands.
"Oh hi. What is it?" She asked.
"Hello, you need to come with me."
"What why?!" She asked seeming alarmed.
"Oh, nothing to worry about. Just a particularly dangerous demon coming in for a meeting today." I replied.
"Ok… we need to grab Gretchen." She fretted.
"Don't worry she's already in the back room."
I walked her into the back room. Farthest away from the meeting room. Opening the door she and I both walked in. The room had red velvet couches and dimly lit hanging lights.
"You'll be perfectly safe in here just don't leave. This demon probably wouldn't kill you but he would be entranced by your beauty. Since you aren't immortal yet you can still die, so I would appreciate you staying away from him. In a matter of ten months you will be immortal and won't have to worry about it anymore." I stated.
"Oh ok." She said.
"Just ask Maxton for anything you need you won't be in here long." I said curtly.
They nodded and I left the room.
"Maxton?" I summoned.
"Yes sir?"
"Stay with them I don't want them getting hurt."
He nodded entering the back room.
Sighing I walked through the corridor entering the office. Nicholas was already there, sitting in my chair with his feet kicked up on the table. Nicholas had shiny white hair, that was cut a little bit below his ears.
"Hello cousin." Nicholas said smugly.
"Out of my chair Nicholas." I hissed.
He laughed, "Always so uptight. Have a little fun some times."
"I have fun. Let's just get to the point. Why do you want to be a soul advisor?"
"Well I just need something to occupy my days. Feya broke things off with me and honestly I don't know why."
Nicholas was a piece of scum but he's family. No wonder Feya broke things off he treated her like shit. Feya was another demon. Even if she wasn't the nicest she deserves better than him.
"Yes well. Let me ask you a few questions, do you know what the job entails?"
"Yes. The job is to keep the souls from attacking anybody. And to keep them in the River Styx." He replied.
"That is true. Let me go over some files."
"Ugh. That is so boring, why don't we go talk in the kitchen I'm so hungry."
"Fine…" I said hesitantly.
We walked out and headed into the kitchen. I almost fainted when I saw a small figure standing the table eating a piece of cheese.
"O-Oh I'm sorry I thought that you were staying in the office," Persephone mumbled "Maxton was busy…"
