"S-Shenyan, Aptitude 9."
The white-beard dean's voice trembled as he said the result of Shenyan's aptitude. He was still dumbfounded by this situation that he could hardly control himself. There is only one other individual who had this aptitude in the entire academy this year— he did not expect that there would another student who would have this kind of aptitude.
In the beginning, the white-beard dean found this participant to be quite strange. First, the testing orb had never measured people's aptitude in batches like it did with this participant; there were clear intervals between each time this participant's aptitude increased causing him to feel strange about the result afterward.
And so, just as it finally settled down, he readily announced the results after coming down a little, afraid that something might happen again.
Just as he was about to calm down from his mental disarray, he noticed something from the corner of his eyes— the light suddenly started increasing again. He was left speechless this time as this had never happened before.
"W-What's going on?"
…
Meanwhile, on the top floor of one of the academy buildings the young girl was shocked when she saw Shenyan's results. She never thought there would be another person who had the same results as her.
So, she was pleasantly surprised, and shortly after her surprise then turned into excitement as she finally found someone that had the same aptitude and possibly the same talent as her. At this moment, she was standing from her chair as her eyes sparkled with interest as she continued to look at Shenyan who was currently standing on the testing platform but suddenly she noticed a phenomenon that shocked her greatly— the testing orb was still glowing.
"H-How is that possible?!" She mumbled in disbelief as she continued to watch this unusual phenomenon unfold before her very eyes.
…
On the big platform, the other participants who were still feeling blinded by the intense light coming from the testing platform, suddenly felt that the light's intensity was increasing again and immediately there was suddenly an uproar and discussions happening on the big platform.
"Fuck! What is it this time? Why are all these strange things happening today."
"I know right, first was that lightning guy who made the clouds turn dark and now this guy is making the light shine brighter than usual."
"Hmm, I just heard the Dean mention his aptitude just now, wasn't he the highest aptitude there is…could it be that he has a stronger aptitude than a ninth-grade talent aptitude? But that's impossible…the Dean just said… hmm… don't tell me."
"W-What?! Why are you always doing this? Just tell me already. Why are you always making me anxious?!"
"Ha, didn't you say reading books is not as important as cultivation. Why are you still asking me questions?
"Y-You… Haa… Okay, I admit I was wrong before. So just tell me already."
"Where is your sincerity?"
"You… Haah… please tell me, I was wrong."
"That's more like it… anyway, I think this participant is some legendary genius who might actually have a higher aptitude than a ninth-grade talent aptitude, but I am not sure myself since I haven't seen or read anything about it before."
"What?! Higher than a ninth-grade talent, what kind of talent would that be."
"I don't know myself, just that it would be a heaven-defying talent if one had such a talent— I can't even imagine how it would feel to have such a talent."
…
While the everyone was expressing their shocked and disbelief expressions, the blinding blue light coming from the small platform was still increasing its intensity so much that no one on the big platform dared to open their eyes anymore except for the white-beard dean who had a higher cultivation base, so he can easily shield against this kind of light.
…
Shenyan on the other hand was puzzled by this phenomenon. When the result was finally displayed as aptitude 9, he thought that it was finally over but who would have thought that when he tried to remove his hand from the testing orb, the force that kept his hand on the orb did not let him go.
And so, Shenyan had no choice but to wait until the force let him go, otherwise there is a chance he would suffer some backlash since they all heard the Dean say to the first participant that they should not struggle during the test— although that was for the second test but who knows what might happen if he forcefully pulled his hand from this testing orb.
Shenyan was skeptical about what might happen to him, so he let himself go and waited for the test to continue and strangely enough the blinding light did not blind him like it did with the other participants on the big platform despite its intensity.
In the first place, the other participants who took their test earlier were not fazed by the blinding light that came from taking their test either, so Shenyan assumed that maybe this testing orb had a function that protects the examinees or something.
A few moments later, the blinding blue light reached its peak and it started to change color— no, to be precise, the color is darkening.
Before the blinding light was a pale blue in color but this time, it was turning into a darker blue. After a while it change into an Azure colored light— like the sky.
The moment it did, the light shot to the skies before going through the clouds above and illuminating the surroundings. This phenomenon shocked everyone in the academy as they thought that some expert was going to cause trouble for their academy.
…
At this moment, the Principal of the Academy saw this strange light shot to the sky from his abode and he immediately frowned as he assumed the worse and without hesitation, he made his way to the testing platform to find the source of this strange light.
A few other Deans also made their way to the testing platform to check out what was going on but immediately after they reached the source of this light, they were dumbfounded by what they saw.
A male participant was currently taking his test on the small platform and at this moment, it looked like he was just measuring his aptitude since his hand was still on the testing orb but the scene in front of them did not look right.
'Was this phenomenon caused by this male participant?' The principal and the deans all thought simultaneously almost as if their thoughts were connected.
"Who is that participant?" The principal suddenly spoke after the immediate surprise.
"I don't know but since they came to take the test, they might either be from a rich family but that's unlikely for us not to know about them, so the only logical choice would be that this participant came from a humble background." One of the Dean said after analyzing the situation.
"Hmm…"
The principal pondered for a while before speaking, "If this phenomenon was indeed caused by him then he might be some terrifying genius as the testing orb hadn't reacted like this before. Let's wait and see the results first before we make our move."
After hearing the principal's words, all the deans nodded their heads in agreement as they proceeded to stand in a distance to watch everything happening on the testing platform.
…
On the testing platform, the Azure-colored light begins to subside as it displayed Shenyan's result which shocked the white-beard dean who was looking at the result in disbelief, but he had been too shocked today that he was already numb from it all, so he did not hesitate and listlessly announced the result for everyone to hear, immediately shocking everyone on the big platform including the principal, the deans, and the young girl who were watching all this in the distance.
"Shenyan, Aptitude 12."
