A knock resounded on the door, I slowly opened my eyes only to shut them again, the door was then swang open.
"I came to leave your clothes."
Yawning, I stretched my arms and got up, I glanced at Layla who was wearing jeans and tank top.
She gasped in shock and immediately turned the other way.
"I–I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude like that, I will leave your clothes here."
She dropped my backpack and paced out of the room.
My school uniform was stained with a lot of blood so I just wrapped a towel, and then I knocked on the bed with nothing on.
'Did seeing me half naked stun her that much?'
I took out a t-shirt, track pants, flip-flop and got out of the room.
I found the guys waiting for me, it was already 3:30, we needed to fortify this place befofe night time comes by.
Josh opened the garage door and we headed inside, We started searching the shelves and old boxes for materials we might need.
"We ravaged the entire place! these meterials should be enough right?"
I nodded, Dexter and josh reinforced the gate while I and Ace took care of the windows and the doors. The wall surrounding this place was already high enough to keep off animals.
After two hours of workout we finally finished reinforcing this place. I went to grab a bottle of water in the kitchen only to stumble across Layla, as we exchanged words she pretended as if nothing happened so I played along.
Boredom stroke while lying in bed, in the end I just strolled looking for someone.
My eyes scanned the surroundings. 'She's not in the balcony.' Sighing I turned around and walked in the narrow hall until I climbed the staircase leading up.
Hint of breeze caressed my face as I slid the glass door. The roof deck was really calming, I ran my fingers along the round table with white chairs surrounding it.
The corners of my mouth quirked up as I saw the most beautiful person ever.
The wind which softly blew her hair made everything look enchanting as if it was a scene from a romantic movie.
I stood besides her, the view up here was really scenic, corresponding with birds which were singing melodious songs as if they were enjoying the scene of the setting sun, and the stream which flowed from the valley ahead to the east was really fascinating to look at.
"It's beautiful isn't it."
"Yeah but Not as beautiful as the angel besides me."
She nodded her stares fixated at the setting sun.
"Is there something on your mind?"
Before she even answered I felt a familiar presence that manifested earlier at school when I was about to be killed, It enveloped around her.
"Now that mythical creatures started resurrecting, this is only the beginning of the chaos, it's time I told you all the secrets that you should know."
I froze like a statue, her words sent me in daze.
She sounded like someone who knew everything about the current situation.
"Mythical creatures! you mean many more will come besides the undead?" I inquired hastily.
She gazed towards me with a straight calm face and nodded.
"What secrets are you hiding?"
"First, I shall tell you about your origin, who your parents are, where you actually descend fro-"
She paused, after a while I turned her to face me.
'What the? I'm seeing things now.'
I pulled her to examined closer.
Her eyes were literally glowing!
The glow started fading until it totally vanished along with the strange presence.
I felt cold sweat travel down my spine, this was insane, I didn't hallucinate the blue glow in her eyes.
I'm guessing they started glowing the moment the new presence appeared.
'What the heck is going on, what was she going to tell me anyway?' I deeply pondered until my brain ached.
"Hey! Alice! Alice! say something!" I called her name while shacking her shoulders.
She finally blinked and stared at me surprised.
"Are you okay?"
"You were going to tell me about my parents, what happened?"
she glanced in puzzlement. "Huh. Parents?"
"Yes, and the secrets you wanted to tell me!"
She smiled wryly. "I'm sorry I don't remember saying that."
Dumbfounded, my mouth parted.
Footsteps echoed in the stairway, as they echoed closer the door slid open.
"Dinner is ready!" Layla yelled.
We instantly joined the others, Alice kept glancing at me, I'm guessing she was probably confused about my inquiries.
The others already started eating, I took my share of spaghetti and meatballs. I couldn't eat at all as I kept thinking about today's event.
They argued about what to watch, I just sat at the dining table and watched.
"Guys! Guys! check this out."
Isla marched carrying six packs of beer, and Dexter followed with a bottle of wine, they started distributing.
Isla kept pushing Layla and Alice to drink until they give in and grabbed a can, the moment they sipped their faces scrunched wanting to spit but Isla forced them to swallow.
She walked towards me with a victory smile, and handed me a can of beer.
"I'm fine but thank you."
"Boooo! such a buzzkill.. Oh maybe you want some wine, don't worry the alcohol percentage is not that high anyway."
She stumbled back again carrying a glass and handed it to me, I sighed and signalled her to leave it in the table, but she seemed to have known my plan.
Isla pulled my face and poured the wine forcing me to gulp it.
"Isla! Seriously!"
She loughed and sat besides me, after hours of drinking the house turned upside down, I only drank two glasses of wine, after I felt a bit tipsy I stopped, I'm not a fan of alcohol after all.
