Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13: Hell is empty all the devils are here

"I don't even know how that got in my pocket, someone definitely put it in there!" I tried to justify myself but it was too late.

(Click) Dexter removed the padlock and revealed a dagger, it looked clean but the hilt had traces of blood.

Everyone froze, I felt like all the saliva in my mouth went dry.

They gazed at me with accusation faces filled with rage and disappointment, Dexter wore a smug face as if he archived something big.

"You bastard!!" Lisa screamed

Alice harshly grabbed her hand before she slapped my face.

"Don't even think about dirtying my brother with your hands."

"What? you are on the murder's side." She forcibly pulled her hand from Alice's grasp with a red face from frustration.

"My brother didn't kill anyone, this is clearly a set up.. And if he did murder someone, I wouldn't think twice about defending him."

I regained my composure.

"First of all I didn't do it, and do you really think I would murder someone and hide the weapon in my room?" I calmy opined.

"Bla! bla! bla! people do stupid things when they are scared. We found the murder weapon in your room, which you thought you hid, and the key was right there in your pocket. Oh! let's not forget that you where the last person to see him, I say he must meet the same fate as Josh!" Dexter spoke.

This devil is starting to piss me off.

"I'm telling you I didn't do it, this is clearly a set up." I shouted as rage was slightly starting to consume me.

"What if he's right! and this is a set up." Isla spoke.

"I'm not pointing any fingers here but I don't think Kean would do such a thing." Ace added

"This is about our safety! If you all support this criminal here, you will be next to die and that will be your fault for being soft, Josh deserves justice."

Dexter was dragging them to his side with his untruthful speeches, but not everyone.

"Justice! don't talk like you are the one who decides what to do, what reason would Kean have to kill Josh. Your speeches and everything, did you plan all this?" Layla spoke with a furious tone.

"Psf, I planned all this, don't be ridiculous. Your boyfriend here is a killer."

"Come on guys we don't know that yet, anyway looks like this dagger is wiped with some kind of cloth mybe it's somewhere in this house." Ace opined.

"We searched the entire room there was definitely no towel here."

Emily pointed at the bathroom. "We haven't searched there."

Dexter nodded. "Yes, mybe we can find more proof."

"You are the one who killed Josh and framed me ain't you! You fucking bastard! " I yelled as I maneuverd forward.

My head was now filled with rage, I wanted to punch the hell out of that smug face until he spit out all his teeth.

Layla and Alice stopped me from moving further, as they embraced me in sync from the sides.

"Blaming me for your crimes won't save you now."

Dexter and his follower immediately dashed to the door.

I knew they had something planned to finish this game, but I won't let it end like this.

'Ace, Isla and the others wouldn't believe him, I mean this is obviously a setup.'

When I entered the bathroom Ace was holding my shirt which I wore yesterday, it had blood stains.

My eyes narrowed in a killing aura

'So this was the set up after all.'

"We can't send you to the police, or take justice to our hands but I'm going to ask you to leave this house."

Ace spoke in a cold voice filled with anger, I could feel the hatred in his eyes.

As If I would allow these bastards to get away with this today.

One week ago.

A knock resounded on Aces door.

Harshly disturbing noises were heard, later on footsteps stumbled from inside the room, Ace slowly leaned his head outside the door.

"Huh?? What?" He spoke between hefty breaths.

Emily pushed the door making Ace stumble back. She winked at Lisa whom covered herself with a blanket, her gaze shifted to Ace while showing a faint seductive smile.

"Wait! what's going on here."

He was silenced by a short salivary tounge kiss which made him fall back to his bed.

Emily lasciviously hopped on his thighs ready to devour him like a hungry predator.

Lisa maliciously smirked. "I saw him first."

As they were teasing him, a tall figure approached them.

"How does it feel to be in paradise." Dexter teasingly laughed making Ace Jerk up.

"Dude! What the heck man." he shoved the girls away and hastily wore his shorts.

Dexter shook his head while taking a sit in one of the chairs, slicing a piece of an apple he hunched it to his mouth.

He snapped his fingers and the girls walked to his side. Ace was left bewildered.

"Imagine the power to control the party with only a snap."

His brows drew together. "You did all this? You sent them here to seduce me!"

"Wrong, I wanted to show you what being in paradise felt like."

His face scrunched. "What are you talking about."

Dexter stood up. "You see I have survival instinct, I'm the priority before someone else, don't worry soon everyone will display that mindset."

"I myself here was brought by a very important matter. For instance this place is very crowded, the food here will only last us for about 2 weeks or less."

"I know it's not the reason why you did all this." Ace answerd.

"Of course they is more. I want you to listen to me carefully. In three weeks time after we run out of supplies we will all head back to the city, and it's no guarantee if we are all going to survive because the city is now over run by the undead, but thankfully to this genius head of mine, I have properly thought of a plan.

We eliminate four people in this house to buy us time"

His eyes shot up. "Are you crazy!! Why would I allow that."

Dexter walked closer. "I heard Isla on the call with her parents, they are coming to pick us up in three weeks time, I have a plan in hand to get rid of Josh, Kean, Alice and Layla so we could save enough supplies, or we could all be killed next week on our hunt for food.

Ace couldn't reply as Emily blowed him without notice.

"I - I don't know about this." He grunted.

"Use your head, if we don't do this any of us could die outside, Isla hasn't told anyone about her conversation, but I know his family won't take more than five members with them.

Dexter raised his hands." My plan will succeed, without Kean we rule this house, the house will be fun with less people, Don't act like a good guy when you were once a Black Lotus.

Ace just nodded as he was already drowning in pleasure.

"I can't believe you are the one who killed Josh." One of the girls who where josh's classmate spoke, her eyes where filled with pure disgust and hatred when she stared towards me.

"You know what guys, you really out did yourselves with this pathetic plan, but I want to sure you something that belongs to Dexter, follow me." I spoke with a smirk.

Dexter and Ace where bewildered.

"What are you talking about, they is nothing you will show us that will prove your innocence." He was prideful at his words.

"If you are so brave then follow me."

I left the room with everyone following me anxiously, Dexter was pacing closely wanting to see what could shake his masterplan.

I stood near the kitchen table and turned back towards Dexter.

He turned his neck facing Ace. "Kean is just wasting our time, we-."

Before he finished talking I fished out snatching the kitchen Knife, clumsily but swift I slited his throat in an instant. Everyone gasped as Dexter placed his hand on the deep cut where blood oozed uncontrollable, his gaze locked with mine before he fell on the ground. Dexter's wide gaze of shock and despair made me regret nothing of this action, he chocked on his blood while twitching.

My hand shook slightly as everything that occurred was settling in, Lisa already rushed to aid him but it was too late, a fight was likely to break out but this gruesome action was never in their minds.

"No no no, stay with me Dexter!" She screamed in despair while struggling to stop the blood flowing from his neck.

This cruel bastard breathed out his last breath. She stared at her bloody hands in a bleak state, the image of Dexter stabing josh to death flashed in her mind.

"What have you done." Ace lunged towards me, he blocked my hand with the knife before releasing a hard punch that I believed could have broken my jaw.

I lost balance and abruptly fell on my knees, the ringing sensation on my ear was not bearable, the most melovent expression was displayed as I tried to get up from the ground.

He marched in fury while pulling his sleeve, when I turned back Aeverie bashed his head with a pan arousing the others to shrill away in terror and stand far

He shifted his glance towards the attacker whilst he was bleeding from the head. Ace tried to punch her but she ducked and grabbed the knife which fell from my hand after the fist I received.

"I really don't want to fight you Alice, stand aside." He tried to act calm, Ace's mind was in frustration after their failure.

I tried to pull her behind me so I can face him, she shook her head.

"Let me show you what happens to idiots who lay their hands on my brother."

I wasn't going to let my sister handle this, as he lurched towards her I swiftly tackled him to the ground, I landed three punches on his face before his bulky hands pushed my face, In that instant he shoved me with a kick and climbed on my stomach as I fell.

Trying to chock my breath out a knife pierced his back all the way to his heart.

Ace fell on my side with his back, the knife pierced deeper as he trembled to his death. Breathing hastily, Alice gave me her hand. I was clothed in blood, the group stared at us in horror, two bodies were on the floor and no one had the strength to even utter a word.

I glanced at my hands, still in disbelief about what I have done, but still, this bastards messed with the wrong siblings.

Summoning my courage I said. "Good news everybody, I will be staying, and josh has got his justice, he can now rest in peace."

Alice shook his head while glancing towards me. "We can't stay, let's go to your room I will tell you everything."

We strolled together, passing near the girls I stared towards the people who worked with Dexter.

"Since you where Ace and Dexter's bitches, you are going to clean that mess, unless of course you want to pay for your crimes in other ways."

Lisa nodded along with her friends, she was devastated, the so called plan to have control of the house has failed.

We entered the room, Layla slowly joined us and closed the door.

She hugged me from the side while sobbing." I'm sorry you had to encounter such things. " She looked up while sighing."I don't know how to feel, I guess you did what had to be done or else more where to suffer in the hands of him."

I smiled wryly and pecked her forehead. "There is no turning back to the path I have chosen."

"Anyway, Alice what did you want to tell me."

"Magic is real, just like this sudden appearance of the undead, normal people have started Awakening certain powers, it's not just rumours because I have awakened an ability that I can't understand."

Aeverie dropped a bombshell making my mouth drop in stupor.

"That's really something, so what does this has to do with us leaving." I inquired.

"I can now see glimpses of future events and know some things relating to anything, I can't really control it. I know that this world is full of endless mysteries that are hard to understand, This world is about to turn upside down.

I don't know why portals from another world open but many deadly races and creatures will stumble into our world, it may be dragons, vampires or overlords from other planets, you name them.

They are not just fiction, many dimensions to other beings exist. We need to get stronger, there is a place hidden in the forest, it has all the answers we need and it rest a legendary being wich will grants us something special, I don't know what it is or specific location but I know my powers will lead me.

We need to find this place before true calamity falls upon this planet, we need to leave today."

I pondered on what Alice said, every word sent shivers in my body, this was a lot to handle.

"You want us to go out there, we won't survive." Layla Lamented.

Alice held my hand, her gaze staring deeply into mine. "Kean, you have something great waiting for you there, we need to leave now and find this place, please understand, this is our fate."

I sighed still shaken. "Staying here will just buy us time, in the end we will need to face the world anyway, let's begin packing I guess."

Alice hugged me tightly. "Thank you for understanding, we actually don't have time, more danger is coming, we need to be ahead before the forest is overrun by more forces."

"I will make sure to protect both of you when that happens."

Alice chuckled. "What are you saying, I'm the older one here, so I do the protecting."

No one was in the sitting room when we got out of our rooms carrying our back packs.

"Are we really doing this guys." Layla asked in worry.

"Yeah, let's get out of here, this house will give me bad memories anyway.

Strolling out of the house, it was still noon, we stared at the gate one last time before shifting our attention to the empty roadway.

"So where do we go from here?"

"Let's go that direction."

We both stared at where Alice was pointing and then turned to her gulping, the thick forest looked scarier than ever.

I blindly followed her, Layla clinged on my right arm like a scared little kid.

It was hard to see far ahead as plentiful of green thick leaves and trees crowded the place. We only walked in the shade as they was hardly any sunlight which penetrated through. After walking for about ten minutes, we only met a little rays of sunshine that became lucky.

"I understand that you love nature, but I don't want us to die because of wild animals. They is still time to find another way to this place I think." Layla opined with a scared tone.

"This is the only route that I'm sensing, I can feel it, I'm close."

In the end Layla gave up trying to convince Alice, the walk made me get succumbed into my own thoughts. I really want the power to protect myself and the girls, if this apocalypse is bound to get worse I need to become prominent.

Many question that paced in my mind where answered by a faint roar which echoed in the forest.

No one said a word as we increased our pace, Layla unconsciously squeezed my arm tightly in her bosom. I didn't even care as I was too focused on making sure no threat was near, my eyes over scanned everything.
