The descendant of smoke woke up and immediately began to be overwhelmed with laughter and voices. As he stood up staring towards their destination in sight, that attention was taken by his nephew's screams. Alec was enjoying the view with the grifter until he refused to hesitate to rush to his best friend's aid as he panicked, tried to cover his ears and almost dropped off the cloud of smoke carrying the trio. Derek gave his best efforts to regain his composure allowing Alec to move his eyes onto their floating destination where the faraway voices began to slowly ease away. Alec comforted him, reminding Amell to stay quiet with gestures. Derek eventually calmed and thanked his pal before shock gained control. "What happened to our plane— wait?!" Derek shouted with a puzzled tone. Amell gave his nephew a thumbs up and a wink before replying with a relieved sigh. "This cloud of smoke we're standing on, is the plane. I'm sort of an apologist of our family's abilities as well, not just for my church. You can count on a lesson for a trick or few during our traveling and training this summer, Dare." Amell turned towards their destination once again resting one of his hands on his hip. Derek's almond eyes widened as excitement began flushing through him. "Heading to the floating capital of Spain's entertainment and arts, huh?" Derek mumbled as he stood towards the island above the clouds. Alec felt as amazed. "Yep. Your magician uncle meant it quite literally, Gray." Said the Williams son. Amell grinned as he looked down towards his nephew's best friend when he heard him call him magician before he replied. "Never call me a magician again." Alec heard Amell calmly reply before he felt him grab his wrist and tossed him into the air. Alec's horrific screams as he was airborne had ceased when he realized after five minutes of free falling that he was no longer in the air, rather locked in a cage as people ambled near it with unsettling staring. Amell opened the cage as Derek held out a hand for his puzzled buddy. Alec accepted his hand and his help back to his feet before he checked his body. "So, you're the type of uncle who doesn't get what jokes are, I'm right— aren't I?" Said the terrified teen as his breathing returned to normal. Amell bursted out with uncontrolled laughter. "Gotta fill your life up with a few jokes, moments of laughter, times when you're smiling so widely that it gives folks an opportunity to make fun of your teeth." Said the gaseous grifter, demonstrating more of his smile. Alec stared daggers at his best friend's uncle. Amell gestured for Derek and Alec to follow him moments after he eyed the largest building on the floating southern American island above the clouds. Derek began to hear instruments elsewhere and folks speaking though he was thankful that the noises were manageable this time. "My ears are haywire again— and this early?!" The young defender of North Carolina told Settembre while they walked through an uncanny forest with lemon chiffon leaves. Alec knelt down and grabbed a leaf to pocket it before jogging to catch up with their chaperone and his best friend before he replied with a worrisome tone. "I brought the backups of your special earmuffs, need them right now?!" Alec grabbed the pair out of his traveling bag. Derek scratched his ear as a specific song was brought to his hearing. "Thoughtful. Thanks but I was just shocked. I'm fine. I can hear 'the world orbiting the sun' being played beautifully right now so is Diles Mavis performing?!" He asked excitedly as he turned his gaze towards the general direction. Amell chuckled before he formed a miniature layout of the island like a three dimensional map out of his smoke. "This place often invites young recruits and shapes them into something greater in different industries. It's a student that studied music here that you're hearing right now." Amell decided to be the buzzkill. Alec couldn't remove his eyes from the gracefully falling and bright leaves as Derek followed silently, staying in his thoughts as Amell wondered about Derek's ears, "I'm just hoping the man we came to visit is going to be munching on fried steak in the dining room. He usually often does the recruiting himself so he's only ever here to either check on a student's progression or he's dumping meat into his mouth." Amell clued the two. Out of the side of his eye, Derek caught the sight of a gift shop. "Do they sell playing cards here, unc?!" The young hero asked with stars in his eyes. Amell shrugged and began to enter the nearby lodge shop. "If he is here, we've got at least the rest of this June to find him." Said the smokey grifter in his head as he enjoyed the wholesome view of his nephew and his closest pal exploring the shop while an image of his eldest brother passed through his brown study. Derek interrupted his musings. "Unc, have enough for these?!" Amell heard from his nephew before looking down at what was in his hand. Alec inched closer to his pal's uncle with another pair of playing cards. "FYI, this fella is bafflingly obsessed with collecting unfamiliar decks of playing cards for some reason?" The young Williams' son warned the wanderer. Derek gently punched Alec in the shoulder to grab his attention. "They're just way too beautiful to not want to case a collection in your bedroom." Said the young heir of the Wiley home. Alec smiled at him while nodding his head. "He'd never gone that long without yapping, thank god, he seems to be cheering up more." Thought the second Williams' home's heir. Amell bought the cards before the trio continued heading to the floating island's elegant palace. Derek whistled as he took his third look at it. "Overwhelming size compared to every other building here, way beyond unmissable." The hero of smoke commented. Alec laughed at his comment. "This is definitely the first time you've ever seen a castle or palace, lil bro." Alec razzed his fellow heroic protogé. Derek side-eyed Alec. "Lemon chiffon visualizations from yo daddy don't count, big bro, or I've already seen plenty." The sensational smokey heir teased in return. Alec chuckled with a smug grin following. "One case led us to an ancient castle that required my dad to move into the founders' home investigating for clues and he had to expand a lemon chiffon visualizations into realistic and detailed rooms." Alec replied as they continued traveling. Amell halted the duo's bickering back and forth as he sealed their lips with his smoke. "I'll regale a story for you while we're making our way to the dining hall." Amell told the duo.
