Jin Liwei and Jing Yue went out to drink during the weekend in their usual spot.
They talked about business and after, Jing Yue decided to bring in their private life.
"So tell me, how have you been these days?" asked Jing Yue. "As always," answered Jin Liwei. "But, I'm noticing a slight change in you. You look... lost, sad," he said tilting his head to the side as if taking a clear look at him.
"I've not been happy for a very long time," he answered. "It might be because you're ruining your own happiness," said Jing Yue. "And why's that?" he asked even though he knew what he was talking about.
"Come on Jin. We both know that ever since she left, you haven't been the same," he said. "That's crap you're saying," he deadpanned.
"I don't think it's crap at all. Say, do you realize that you sent her in the hands of someone else. Her ex fiancee is in Beijing! Oh yes! Now I remember. I think I heard Liling saying that they are planning on going on with the wedding," he said to get his reaction. "Wedding?!" Jin Liwei couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, and after that they will be having lots of kids," he said and seeing the look on his face, he burst into laughter. "You should have seen your face just now," he said chuckling.
"That's not funny. Tell me, are you serious about that?" asked Jin Liwei. "I was kidding. But, you should make up your mind before it's too late," said Jing Yue.
...
At exactly five in the morning, Li Fei woke up and had a quick bath. She had decided to go for jogging so as to clear her mind off certain things. She dressed in grey cotton leggings and a black camisole before tying her hair in a high ponytail.
In half an hour, she left the house and started running along the road. The street was safe because it didn't have many people to see her.
She half walked and half ran until she saw the sun rising and decided to go back home. As she was walking, she spotted a bench on the roadside and decided to take a rest there. Sitting down, she leaned on the seat and closed her eyes. That instant, she started thinking about Jin Liwei.
She realized that every time her mind concentrates, it runs off to him and she scolded herself for that.
"Good morning," she was interrupted by a male voice and she turned to look at the man who had taken a seat on the same bench. "Good morning," she replied but his face seemed farmiliar. "I think I saw you somewhere. Do you always jog around the street?" he asked looking at her critically.
"No, it's my first time and yes, you look familiar too," she said. "Oh! Now I remember, you were at my parent's banquet in Shanghai. The woman in the red dress," he said and Li Fei also remembered seeing him there. She nodded before saying," I remember you too."
"Indeed. I'm Yan Jianyu and you're possibly Li Fei," he said.
She nodded and stood up to say," I should get going." "Let us walk together," he said and stood up to follow her.
"I thought you live in Shanghai," he said after they had walked for a while.
"I was. I just came back," she said and they continued moving. Li Fei found it rude that she didn't ask him back and she said,"What about you?"
"I've been living in Beijing for three years now even though my parents are in Shanghai. I do all my businesses here," he said. "Okay Mr Yan, it's been nice meeting you. I branch off from here," she said before walking away and he looked into her direction until he could no longer see her and he started moving away.
"You're from jogging? I looked for you everywhere. You got me worried," Li Mei said the moment she came back. "I wanted to tell you but I didn't want to wake you up," she said.
"Okay. Let's have breakfast," she said.
"Let me have a quick shower. I'm all sweaty," she said before running up the stairs.
The next day when Li Fei went jogging, she found Yan Jianyu waiting for her in the same spot they had separated and it made her uncomfortable but nonetheless, she jogged with him. When it happened for the second time, she decided to quit jogging.
One day, Li Fei opened her Weibo and the first thing her eyes landed on were pictures of her and Yan Jianyu. She immediately sat up and scrolled down but it's all she could see everywhere. How could this happen? Who could have taken such pics? They had been taken on the first day she met Yan Jianyu and it was the time when they were sitting on the bench.
The pictures had received a lot of reactions and comments that she feared opening them.
As she was still looking at them, her door opened and her mother came in.
"Did you see what's all over social media?" she asked. "I've seen them Mom," she said.
"Don't let them affect you, okay?" she said and Li Fei nodded. She was just worried that now everybody knew of how she was back in Beijing.
The next day in the afternoon, there was a knock on the main door and the Butler went to open. "Good afternoon. I want to speak to Li Fei. I know she's here," said Hu Feng stepping inside. "She's in her bedroom. I will inform her that you're here."
"I know the way. I will go there myself," he said and made his way towards her bedroom. He knocked on the door until she came to open it.
"What are you doing here Hu Feng?" she asked going back inside her room.
