"I'm sorry you had to bump into her," Liling told her. "It's okay. I'm used to her tantrums," said Li Fei. She was thankful that Jin Liwei helped her with the situation because no one would have believed her. A while later, Li Fei excused herself to go to the washroom and on seeing this, Hu Feng followed her. They had a lot to talk about.
Reaching inside, she washed her hands and when the washroom door opened, it was Hu Feng. "What are you doing here, Hu Feng? People will get the wrong assumption when they find us here," she scolded him the moment he entered. "I want us to talk. We can't do it in the banquet room because it's noisy and I'm sure Liu Han is still waiting outside. We need some privacy," he said.
"I know what's going on between you two, she told me when she came to see me in prison," Li Fei told him. He was surprised because he didn't know that she had visited her. "Li Fei, I'm going to be honest with you. I admit that I was tempted various times as a man but I swear to you that it has never exceeded that. I've never considered to have anything permanent with Liu Han and I told her several times that I was waiting for you. Li Fei, I'm still considering you as my fiancee and I can't wait for our wedding to happen," he said with all due honesty.
Taking a deep breath, she said," I want to begin with thanking you for everything you've done for me and my family. You were really patient with me, supportive and you were always there despite the tantrums I would throw. Thank you so much but we can't be together anymore not because of you but me. A lot of things have changed, and I have grown to accept that I'm no longer the same person I was in the past." She opened her clutch bag and got out the engagement ring and said," I want to return this to you. I hope you find someone worthy to give this Hu Feng."
He said," Is it because I never visited you in prison? I came multiple times Li Fei but- " "They didn't let you see me, I know that Hu Feng. It's not your fault, it's me who doesn't deserve you." She got his hand and placed in the ring before saying," Please take it. Thanks for taking care of my parents in my absence..." Before she could complete her words, the door opened revealing Jin Liwei who was standing there glaring at them. Her hands subconsciously let go of Hu Feng's hand and she took a step back. She felt her heart pounding in her chest.
"What are you doing in the women's washroom?" Jin Liwei asked Hu Feng as he closed the door behind him. "I guess you should answer the same question, Mr Jin Liwei. What are you doing in the women's washroom?" Hu Feng asked back. Jin Liwei's eyes narrowed as he took steps to where they were standing.
Li Fei didn't know why she was feeling nervous. Did she do anything wrong?
He looked at her and she noticed coldness in his eyes. He said," I will find you in the car. Go now." She stood still then she felt his aura changing and she immediately fled from the washroom leaving them behind.
Jin Liwei glared at Hu Feng and came straight to the point," Stay away from her." "Unfortunately I can't. She's my fiancee," said Hu Feng determinedly. Jin Liwei chuckled and after he said, "Really? What a disgrace of a fiancee you are! You weren't able to free her from jail and much less, visit her in prison." "It was all because of you," he replied gritting his teeth. "It only shows how weak you are. Isn't it enough to prove to you that she doesn't deserve someone as incompetent as you?" Jin Liwei asked smirking.
"Who does she deserve then? You?" he asked and for a moment, Jin Liwei didn't reply.
"I will say this for the last time, Mr Hu Feng. Stay away from her. Failure, you won't like what I will do next," he said seriously and left the washroom. Hu Feng knew that it wasn't just a threat.
Li Fei was in the parking lot standing next to the car as her mind came up with different imaginations of what they could be saying to each other. A while later, she caught sight of him coming with the bodyguards and Wang Mel.
Waiting expectantly, she felt her heart beat increase with time. Wang Mel and the bodyguards sat in the other car as he made way to where she was standing. Opening the door, he sat at the back and she followed suit. She made sure to leave a good space between them.
The chauffeur started the car and they left the hotel, yet he hadn't said anything to her. A while later, she watched him get a cigarette from the corner of her eyes and he started smoking. She looked at him but he seemed to be unfazed. "Uhm...Mr Jin Liwei, why do you smoke?" she asked carefully. "Why?" he asked back. "It's not good for your health," she replied. "Why do you care?" he asked. She had no answer for that and she decided to keep quiet.
Silence filled in the car when he said," Tell me, just how many lovers do you have?" She was taken aback and said," I don't understand."
"What don't you understand? The doctor, your fiancee. What were you two doing?" he asked.
"Nothing. We were just talking," she said. "You were touching him," he reminded her. "Yes, I was giving him back the ring," she explained. When Jin Liwei understood what she meant, he was pleased. "You decided to spend the whole party with other men. I thought it was me who invited you," he said. "Which men Mr Jin Liwei? You were busy with other people and there's no way I could intrude," she said.
