After greeting Yin Chen and informing her that she was back, she went to her room to have a rest. Reaching, she fell on the bed to take a nap. Later, she was woken up by a knock on the door and on opening, it was Yin Chen who said," I'm sorry for waking you up but the Young Master asks you to take his dinner to his room." Again? "Okay. I will take it," she said before going back inside to wash her face and after, she left the room.
She stood in front of the large door with a tray and knocked but she got no reply. She opened and peeked inside and luckily she didn't see him. She entered and heard water in the bathroom which meant that he was bathing. She thought that she was lucky not to find him in the room like last time. Carefully placing the tray on the table, she turned to leave when her eyes caught sight of the paintings in one corner of the room. They were two in number and in one was a beautiful woman who had a kind smile. Li Fei automatically understood that it was the former Mistress of the house Jin Shan. She wondered why she hadn't seen them the last time she was here. It was probably because Jin Liwei was in the room that her eyes didn't wander around.
As if forgetting why she was here, her legs took her to the direction of the paintings.
In the other one, Jin Liwei was with her, holding her intimately and by looking at the painting, one could tell that he treasured her. What attracted her the most in the painting was that Jin Liwei was smiling. She never thought that he could smile that way because for the few times she had seen him, he always had a serious look on his face. She realized that he looked even more handsome when he smiled. Her heart ached when she saw the lovely couple she tore apart. They looked so perfect together.
Then suddenly coming back to her senses, she heard the water stop in the bathroom and she panicked. She had forgotten in whose room she was. She left the place hurriedly and she accidentally knocked down a flower vase and it fell down getting broken as all the glasses shattered on the floor as well as the water pouring down wetting the floor. Her face became pale that instant. She was done for.
She looked in the direction of his bathroom and he was there looking at her. She felt her heart pound in her chest as her legs were trembling in fear. He was going to kill her.
"I-I am s-sorry Mr Jin Liwei," she stammered in fear. He didn't say anything and just looked at her with an unfathomable expression.
Li Fei didn't need to be told what to do as she quickly bent down and started gathering the glasses on the floor. As she was gathering them, a piece of glass pierced through her skin and she started bleeding but she didn't dare to wince or stop her actions. She was in no position to complain.
Jin Liwei noticed this and it's when he left the bathroom doorway and came to stand where she was bending and saw blood. "Leave," was all he said. She looked up at him and said," But I have to clean this." "I said, leave," he repeated and she quickly stood up before apologising once again and dashed out of the room. Picking up his phone, he called Yin Chen who immediately came to his room. "Young Master?" she asked. "Get someone to clean this and... clean her wound then dress it," he said and Yin Chen nodded before exiting the room.
Li Fei who was in the bathroom pouring water on the wound so as to stop the bleeding was called by Yin Chen and on seeing, she had gotten a first aid kit from her closet.
Sitting on the bed as she was applying medicine on her wound, she asked," What happened?" "I accidentally knocked the flower vase in his room. Do you think he is angry?" "He might be. The Young Master doesn't like anyone to touch much less damage his stuff. But don't worry, he didn't seem like he will punish you," she said as she dressed her wound.
She could only hope so. For a moment, she thought he was going to strangle her to death.
In the middle of the night, Li Fei's door was opened and Jin Liwei came to stand next to her bed. His eyes first fell on her hand that was wrapped with a bandage. Her quilt had left her body and since she was dressed in short pajamas, much of her skin was revealed.
Jin Liwei had decided to bring her here such that he could torture her more but he realized that he couldn't. She always looked like a frightened kitten in his presence and all he could do was feel pity for her. He wondered if bringing her here was a wrong decision in the first place. He left her room and closed the door behind him.
Li Fei had set an alarm to wake her up early in the morning because she wanted to apologise to Jin Liwei before he leaves for work. She got dressed and waited for him to come downstairs at her doorway.
Soon, she heard footsteps descending the stairs, and she readied herself. The moment she saw him walking towards the door, she called him, "Mr Jin Liwei!" He paused and looked at her questioningly when she said," Mr Jin Liwei. I'm so sorry for breaking your flower vase. I didn't mean to. I promise to pay for it when I get the money." "Of course you have to pay for it," he said. Her eyes widened and she nodded her head. "How and when, I will decide that," he said before leaving. She was caught by surprise at that. It was the first time they had a conversation even though he hadn't spoken much. She wondered if that was his nature or if he had turned that way after his wife's death.
