She placed the cold cloth around his neck and she heard him mumble something once again. She leaned forward placing her ear near his lips such that she hears what he was saying. "Shan..... Don't leave me, Shan..." She heard him say and she quickly stood straight. It seems like he was dreaming about his late wife. She wondered if she should continue with what she was doing or leave. Touching his forehead, she realized that the temperature had somehow lowered. She soaked the cloth once again before placing it on the same spot around his neck.
Subconsciously, Li Fei paused and carefully looked at his face. She had never gotten an opportunity of scrutinizing his features since she found it hard with his deep and penetrating eyes. She observed every inch of his face in detail. Suddenly, she truly accepted the fact that this man was good looking. God had generously bestowed him with the best things in the world. He had given him massive power, limitless riches, and sculpted him perfectly. Even women would envy him.
Then suddenly, he opened his eyes and caught her staring at him with her face close to his. Li Fei felt her heart pause and her breath hitched. She froze on the spot and failed to leave the position. She had no excuse on how he caught her. Anyone else would misunderstand.
"I-I was...." She stopped midway when he pulled her into his embrace shocking her. "Don't leave me again, Shan." He had mistaken her for his late wife probably because of his illness. His one hand was securely wrapped around her waist and the other cupped her neck as he brought her closer to his body. She couldn't get out of his embrace due to his tight hold on her. She had no option but to wait until his hold on her loosens. A while later, she heard him steadily breathing in and out meaning that he had slept. She tried getting up carefully removing his hands but he woke up and instead tightened his hold more.
"I told you not to leave me again, Shan. I missed you so much," he said. Li Fei decided to give up the struggle and let him hold her. Perhaps, it would help since he mistaken her to be his wife. Later, she was taken up by sleep.
A few moments later, Yin Chen came towards the room to check if the Young Master had eaten his food. Knocking, she received no response and she decided to come in. When her eyes fell on the bed, she was shocked to the core.
The two were sleeping together in such an intimate position. Slowly, she tiptoed and got the tray leaving the room making sure she makes no sound that would wake them. She had to tell this to Mrs Jin.
Several hours later, Li Fei woke up and she remembered that she wasn't in her room. She scolded herself for sleeping in his room. Her eyes peeked at his face and she realized that he had gotten better. His lips had also started to get back to their usual color. She looked around the room and saw the wall clock which showed that it was a quarter past four in the morning. Carefully, she got his hands off her and luckily, he didn't pull her again as he seemed to be deep in sleep. She slowly picked the bowl and cloth before exiting his room.
When she got back to her room, Li Fei couldn't sleep again. She couldn't believe that she was in his embrace. She still remembered and smelt that lingering scent and warmth that came from him. She decided to brush such thoughts away and wondered if he will scold her when he wakes up because clearly, he had mistaken her for his wife. She got her phone and went to WeChat. The moment she opened her chat, she received a message from Caihong. 'Hey, why are you awake this early?' he texted. 'I suddenly woke up and failed to sleep again,' she replied. 'Okay. Tell me Li Fei, do you think that a day will ever come when you will get to accept me?' he texted. Releasing a frustrated sigh, Li Fei replied,' Of course I already accepted you. As a friend though.' 'Okay. So you mean to say that, I have no chance with you at all?' he texted. 'Don't talk like that Caihong. You're a good friend and nothing will ever change that. You're someone who was there for me when the whole world was against me,' she typed but she got no response from him even when he read the message. Sensing that he is angry, she texted him again asking," Are you mad at me?' He saw her message but he didn't reply and she placed her phone on the bed deciding to give him some time.
She got up and went to prepare herself for work. She wanted to leave the house before Jin Liwei wakes up to scold her. By six in the morning, Li Fei left to go for work.
At around eight, Yin Chen woke Jin Liwei up and she was glad to see that he had greatly improved. "Good morning Young Master Jin Liwei. How did you sleep?" Getting up, he sat on the bed and said," I'm okay." "I've brought you breakfast. Please eat something," she said before placing the tray on the bed and left the room. Jin Liwei stared at the food but his mind was elsewhere. He had a dream that seemed to be real. He was holding Shan as she smiled at him. Was he hallucinating?
In the evening when Li Fei came back from work, she found a car parked outside the Villa. She walked passed it to head inside.
"Li Fei!" She turned on hearing her name being called. She saw Mr Jing Yue who was sitting in the car with the mirrors lowered. She wondered the reason as to why he had called her. She walked back towards the car.
