Chapter 8 - Mia Kazehaya

["Good morning, my name is Mia Kazehaya. I am a second year junior highschool student. Today is the day I'm going to do an interview with my group."]

Her eyes opened as she woke up in a room where it was dark and quiet.

She woke up and started her day by brushing her teeth. After that, if it wasn't the weekend, she would go to my brother's room and wake him up. Sometimes, he would touch her hand and lightly squeeze it like a baby. It makes her smile everytime he does that.

Since today was Saturday and her brother doesn't have to come to school, she let him rest and didn't bother to wake him up. Instead, she went downstairs and made breakfast herself.

As Mia ate her breakfast, she heard small footsteps. As elegant as a woman from a noble family, walked into the dining room.

"Good morning, Miss Yamamoto!"

"Good morning, Lady Mia. It looks like you are ready to go to do the interview?"

"Yeah! I wouldn't want to be late so I'm going early"

"However, Lady Mia, isn't it too early?"

As Yamamoto Kaede asked Mia Kazehaya, she walked to the kitchen to brew herself a warm tea. Mia froze, she was unable to answer as if something was stopping her from answering.

"Lady Mia, shouldn't you wait until the sun comes out?"

"N-no… I shouldn't ponder around not doing anything. Waking up early in the morning and starting your activities early is clearly better than later"

"Yes, I know that, Lady Mia. However, you're still young, shouldn't you enjoy life more than work hard for it?"

"N-no… I can't"

"In fact, shouldn't it be Master Shouta, your brother, to be the one who works hard?"

"No, I can't let my brother work hard for me! He's been taking care of me since I was a baby, didn't he?!"

"Indeed he did. Master Shouta was excited to meet you since the day you were born"

"That's right! I now have to repay his kindness!"

I see.

Spoke Kaede's mind. In a way, Kaede was happy to see her lady was changing and being independent. However, Mia has been pushing herself too hard lately.

Kaede didn't continue and instead, she drank her tea and began sweeping the floor. Mia was unsure.

Is she doing the right thing?

—Or is she doing things wrong?

"I'll…"

"Hm?"

The room went silent for a moment. And then…

"I-I'll stay for a moment, maybe an hour"

In the next second, Kaede smiled.

Kazehaya Mia grinned as she leaned against the wall, her shoulders slumped and her phone in her hand, going through her social media. She drank a bottle of infused water while waiting for the train to take her to Tokyo. To conceal her identity, she wore a white hoodie over her head and a mask over her mouth.

Her phone's screen displayed:

Are you sure, Mia-chan?

Her Idol group mates sent her a text message. Rin Suzuki had messaged her twice in the previous hour, each time asking the same question.

I'm fine, I'll make it to the audition!

Are you sure? You didn't look so good yesterday and you almost fainted, remember?

I'll be fine, I promise you!

Rin suddenly stopped typing. A pause between moments and then...

Don't go pushing yourself, okay Mia-chan?

Yes, I promise I won't push myself too hard!

And just like that, as the train arrived at the station, Kazehaya Mia was able to convince Rin that she's fine.

She entered the train with a smile. She sat near the door of the train.

She then reached into her pocket for her phone. She then opened a music app she had downloaded the day before and purchased the premium pass to avoid being interrupted by triple commercials. Choosing the music that matched the current ambience of the train by scrolling down her selection of favorite music.

As Mia listened to the music, a note hit her deep in her heart. It felt nostalgic, like wanting to go back and live like the old days. As it did, Mia's eyes looked outside of the train, to the suburban area of Fujisawa.

...Am I?

She thought.

Mia remembered a time where her brother would do everything for her. Everything for protecting his little sister.

"...Your wishes~ All of your desires~"

Mia hummed the lyrics. She slowly drifts away to her imagination.

"Hey, Takanashi, is it really okay to do barbeque at your house?"

"Yeah, it's okay. I've asked permission from my mother and we have a big grill in our backyard"

Shouta was suddenly amazed. A house that has a backyard is something Shout rarely sees in his neighbourhood.

"Shouta"

"Yeah?"

"Is it a good idea to have a barbeque on a windy day like this?"

"But we're not on the beach anymore—"

"—but we're still below the same sky"

"—!!"

The three, not including Sara, suddenly stopped. They unconsciously let out a foolish sound as they looked at Sara.

"Hm?" Sara cutely questioned.

The lights above her blinded the room with it's light. The people working behind the camera's were standing. They watched the group sitting on chairs in front of a set with an interviewer sitting next to them.

—the pressure was on for Mia.

The show started and the person beside her friends, possibly the person who will ask her questions, started talking to the camera energetically.

She sat at the very end of the line. She was divided by five of her friends to the interviewer. Seeing this, it will take time until it's her turn to be asked questions.

—The interview started, and the group's star was the first one to be questioned.

Her group consisted of six people. All of them were close with each other without any problems. The group's star, Yuki Takahasi, was titled "Lone Rose" by their fans. When Yuki gets attention from a number of people, her pride could get her into saying words she doesn't even understand.

And that pride took over the stage.

As she said words she didn't understand, her friends watched her and giggled as she stuttered every second word she said.

Yuki-chan… please calm down

"Takanashi, can I borrow the television?"

"Yeah, sure. What are you going to watch? There's no anime airing this day"

"No, it's not about anime"

"Then, what are you going to watch?"

As Shouta reached for the remote, he gave Ichika a small smile.

"My little sister"
