Chereads / Tricking The Vampire King / Chapter 64 - Not A Good Morning

Chapter 64 - Not A Good Morning

Reina woke up from her nap only when her stomach coiled in pain.

Letting out a groan, she rubbed her flat belly and feeling the vibrations coming from it, realized that she was starving.

Her long lashes fluttered before she opened her eyes but soon grimaced at what she saw.

She was facing the large window and thus it was easy for her to catch glimpses of the dark skies which were just beginning to be illuminated by the rising sun in the distance.

With a flash, she sat up straight and groaned again when a shooting pain surfaced in her head.

'First my stomach now my head!' She clutched her forehead which was now throbbing.

It took her a moment to realize that this pain was similar to the ones she had experienced every time she tried to peek into Rein's memories about her life before she met the King.

Though what she was experiencing right now wasn't as intense as before, it was still painful nonetheless.

Bearing this pain, she glanced around the room and clicked her tongue at the mess she found.

Her maid Rozella was no longer with her to clean up her mess and feed her on time.

She was the one who had now turned into a chamberlain and had to take care of someone else's needs.

Thus she lamented over her fate for the first few seconds before finally getting a hold of herself.

Making out her surroundings she began to think of what might have caused her to fall into such a deep sleep.

She had not only fallen asleep within a matter of seconds but had also managed to sleep through the night.

The rising sun was the proof of this theory and the only way she could explain this bizarre outcome was that she had somehow managed to exhaust herself entirely.

The lack of energy had put her into that deep sleep, only to wake up the next morning.

'But I stayed in all day…' Reina disputed this theory instantly.

The only time she had left her room was to serve the King and she had returned as soon as she was done with it.

She then spent some time interacting with Doctor Bundt but she felt no exhaustion after he had left.

She also recalled how she had triggered those additional memories and gained a large portion of the information concerning both Rein and this world that she was now in.

'Then Meteor Sama's lookalike left his room.' She concluded her recollection as she had fallen asleep after that.

The next memory she had was of a few minutes ago when she had woken up from that excessively long nap.

Reina was now lost in her thoughts but soon regained her senses.

She now had a faint idea of what might have caused her to fall into such a deep sleep that lasted more than twelve hours.

When she had fallen asleep, the sun was still out but now a whole new day was about to begin which was what she had found baffling.

'I should test this out later.' She decided as she touched her forehead once again.

The pain seemed to have subsided but still left a lingering ache each time she moved.

Therefore, Reina was now careful not to aggravate it in any way and made slow movements while glancing around the messy room.

She would have to clear this place and start her day soon so she did not have the luxury to sit around all day and be lost in her thoughts.

Letting out a final sigh, Reina got off her bed with a grumbling stomach and a throbbing head as she made her way to the bathroom.

She did not forget to pick up a fresh change of clothes before entering that room.

Standing under the cold shower worked wonders in easing any lingering discomfort from the headache and she was soon refreshed after that quick shower.

She changed into a new uniform before stepping out of the bathroom.

Her hair was still damp but she did not mind, rushing forward to tidy the mess she had made yesterday.

She returned those thick books to their original position as well as the wooden box in which she had already placed the three different colored cards.

'Being a vampire has its perks.' She smirked at the inhuman speed she now possessed which helped her zoom across the room in a fraction of a second.

Within three minutes, her room was back in its original state, prim and proper, just like how her predecessor preferred it.

For a moment, Reina wondered if she should change the decor of the room to match her aesthetics but soon shook her head in rejection.

After all, she might soon leave this place so why would she spend her time beautifying this room when she could utilize that time and effort in doing something that could help in her escape plan?

Therefore, Reina resolutely tossed that idea aside and took a seat on the bed.

There was still time before the King would wake up.

This gave her a few moments to catch her breath before she needed to head out and fetch him water from the fountain in the woods behind the Palace.

Therefore, now that her head no longer hurts, she decided to focus on another troublesome matter.

From what she had learned during her conversation with Doctor Bundt, she understood that Rein's hunger couldn't be satiated with just human food.

A vampire's diet included blood in it so she too would have to think of a way to consume some.

Since Rein had survived on blood alternates, Reina would also have to find them at the earliest.

She had already arranged for a means of a steady supply of blood alternates from the Royal Physician after their negotiation yesterday.

Thus, for now, all she could do was wait until she met him and start the trial for the new blood alternate that he had created.

'So we eat human food until then!' She declared in her mind as she rose to her feet.

The thought that had just come to her mind made her chuckle at how her life had changed.

Earlier, food was just food for her but now she was already differentiating between what was considered human and vampire food.

Her ability to adapt to this new environment was astonishing to her as well.

Thus she decided not to waste any further time here for the pangs of hunger originating from her stomach were only growing stronger.

Standing before the mirror, Reina frowned at the damp hair which would pose an issue for her health if she tied it up right away.

She did not know if her predecessor could fall sick or catch a cold but she did not wish to take any chances right now.

Thus she first used a towel to dry her hair before deciding to try out a new hairstyle.

'Hope it works.' She gazed into the mirror while combing her long silver hair.
