"Young master, we have arrived at your school. Have a nice day." The chauffeur smiled gently and opened the millions of dollar worth Maybach's door elegantly. The warm rays of the morning sun reflected on the shinning black metallic surface of this frighteningly expensive vehicle, making the passers-bies blinded with envy. The car stood majestically in the parking lot near a famous kindergarten. Although the children and their parents heading towards the kindergarten didn't show much awe, as if they were used to this super expensive Maybach, some of the unfortunate passers-bies who suddenly encountered such dazzling car, the first thing in the morning, became overly dazed, while hitting the nearby pole in the process.
But in this extremely pleasant and sunny morning, Ron's mood was very unpleasant. For the seventh day in a row he hadn't seen the single hair of Moon, his one and only friend in this small kindergarten. So, while sitting still inside the car, Ron was considering if he should ask his grandfather to send out his people in order to search for Moon and her dad, Ethan. In the last three months these two people silently occupied a very important place in the five year old Ron's heart after her mother's death. Moon's dad Ethan was like the ideal father, he always dreamed to have.
Outside, the chauffeur sighed helplessly. Their little young master although was only five years old but this little child was very different from the other children. He had extremely high IQ and was a rare genius waiting to shine. But, his talent became his nemesis as he grew older. He slowly became isolated from his age groups. His emotions became less and less.
At the age of five Ron's mother met with an accident and passed away. With that Ron lost his last pillar of support and also his last and only friend and advisor, who truly understood him. At the funeral of his mother, Ron neither cried nor showed any sadness. Ron's only relative, his grandfather thought he was momentarily stunned at his mother's death but soon he found a major problem with Ron's mental health. Ron did not show any kind of emotion on his face. So after consulting with a psychologist, Ron's grandfather decided to send him to a normal kindergarten to experience a normal childhood. But things remained the same until Ron met the father and daughter pair ‐‐ Ethan and Moon.
Ron still remembered the day when he met Moon for the first time. It was the eighth day of his school. Probably because of a fever Moon missed the first few days when he was first admitted. With his facial paralysis and gloomy appearance when no children approached him, Moon deliberately found him repeatedly and dragged him out from different corners of the kindergarten, from those places, where even the teachers failed to find him. During these simple process of hide and seek, even he, himself didn't know just when he became so entangled with her that, only not seeing her for one day, was enough to make him feel stuffy, like he was missing out the most pleasant event of the day.
They eventually became close enough to share their lunch. Only then, from those heavenly lunch boxes, the rich family's young master, Ron followed her home regularly to leech off a meal after school and met her incredibly beautiful....well, handsome father, Ethan. To Ron, Ethan was as unique as Moon. Working from day till afternoon, Ethan still managed to cook such delicious meals for Moon three times a day, played with Moon like her closest friend. Ethan never showed any irritation towards Moon's childish role play games. One time, while helping them with their homeworks Ethan even solved some of the trickiest questions of his special homework book. Ron was truly surprised then. His special homework book was specifically arranged by some highly qualified mathematicians according to his high IQ level. As only a high school graduate, Ethan couldn't have solved it.
When Ron looked into the matter on relying on his grandfather's power, only then he came to know how outstanding of a student Ethan was, prior to having Moon. And he was surprised to find that Ethan actually gave birth to Moon despite being a man, owing to his special physique. Although Ron was only five, relying on his high IQ, he knew how hard it could be, for Ethan to bring up a child when he just turned out an adult all by himself and to love the child wholeheartedly when it ruined his bright future.
Ron's own cheap father, because of ruining his carrier as a actor, abandoned his mother without any hesitation when she was pregnant. Ron hated to admit but, even his mother, the most loving figure of his world was not as sincere as Ethan. Whenever his father's movie or shows were broadcasted in the cinema halls or TV, she would always get drunk and yell hurtful words to him like, "It's all because of you that he left!" or "Why do you have to born?". Although those words were cruel, as a understanding child he always was, he would pretend that he never heard any of them. Thus after meeting Ethan, he started to admire him and on the same time envied Moon for having such a great dad. But those two people quickly integrated him into their small world and their small nest became the happiest place for him and also a place he could call home.
Now staring at the gate of the Kindergarten, Ron's ever so calm eyes slowly became hot. Tears threatened to come out. He really missed them. Ron had already visited their home, Ethan's workplaces, asked their neighbors. But nothing. It was as if they had disappeared into thin air.
'Where are they?'
'Are they safe?'
'Are they facing any danger?'
'I want see them...'
Ultimately those tears rolled down his cheeks. He didn't cry at his mother's funeral because he suppressed those turbulent emotions deep inside his heart but now again at the fear of losing someone important, those emotions gushed out as if a hole had been punctured through his ultimate barrier. At this moment the sound of the melodious bell from the kindergarten, woke him up from his deep thought. Then he looked at his own tears in disbelief. Impossible!! He cried!!
The chauffeur who was sighing helplessly, accidentally happened to see this scene. He was suddenly dumbfounded. Well it was normal for a child of five year old to cry when he didn't get to meet his friend. But it was really abnormal because it was normal. Back in the mansion every servent treated the young master as an adult person. So, now seeing Ron crying, he absolutely didn't know if to console him like an adult or coax him like a child. At the mean time Ron also noticed that his shameful side had been exposed to others. He hurriedly wiped his tears and seriously said," Something got into my eyes."
The chauffeur also cleverly replied,"Ah....yes! That's right!"
Then Ron turned his face to look outside the car window and said," Tell grandfather that I don't want to attend the school today..."
"Alright.....young master, should I head to the mansion now?"
Ron remained silent. When the chauffeur was about to take his silence as his consent, Ron spoke suddenly," No, take me to a long drive."
The chauffeur was a little surprised. The young master usually liked to stay either at home or spend time in his only classmate's home. He never liked to travel. But the chauffeur didn't question much. He only asked,"So, young master, where do you want to go?"
"A quite place I guess." Ron answered bizarrely. He himself didn't know what happened to him. He just didn't want to go back to that huge mansion where there wasn't an ounce of warmth present.
The Chauffeur thought for sometime and then said," Oh! young master, I know a sea beach here. You know, this town is already very remote and now that the winter is nearing no tourists will go there. But...."
"Let's go there." Ron said calmly. His voice was clear and crisp matching the tenderness of a five year old child but sadly there was no liveliness in it.
The chauffeur was distressed and said," Young master, the distance is a little far and it will be cold in the beach but you clearly don't have any warm clothes."
Ron said in a careless tone," Then let's just buy some. What's the big deal? Didn't Grandfather give you enough money to bear my expenses?"
"Yes.. yes...." The chauffeur hurriedly nodded. As Ron didn't like to go shopping unnecessarily he actually almost forgot that the young master was the grandson of a rich tycoon.
So, while going towards the beach the chauffeur stopped for a while and bought a thick coat, a woolen scarf and a thick long blanket as it was going to be late night when they would return home, even if they stayed in the beach only for a while. The chauffeur also informed Ron's grandfather about today's matter so not to worry the old man.
It was about afternoon when they reached the beach but the weather gradually changed for the worse. The sky was densely packed with black and gray clouds. The wind that was a little cooling before turned freezing in temperature. Big waves continuously but violently whipped the golden beach as if to give a warning before the upcoming storm. All in all, staying in the beach was very dangerous for now.
The chauffeur hesitated," Young master, let's go back, the weather isn't looking good today."
But Ron said firmly,"We have come so far, let's just take a look."
The chauffeur could only follow. He inwardly cursed,'What high IQ!! Damn!! Child, you don't even have the general common sense!'
As soon as Ron came out from the car, the intense cold wind almost froze him. His small body was about to fall because of the strong wind current. The car had a heater, so he didn't feel the cold all this while. The chauffeur hurriedly held the little ancestor steadily and covered him with the previously bought warm coat and scarf. Even in this cold, he felt his forehead sweating from the stress. If something happened to this little ancestor, even if he payed back with his life it won't be enough. The chauffeur held Ron's little hand tightly and entered into the beach. He felt that life was really ridiculous.
Ron also felt ridiculous. He knew he shouldn't go to the beach in such a weather. But....but sometimes ago, When their car neared the beach, a strange feeling occurred in his heart after listening to the sound of the sea waves. It was as if the waves were calling him and if he didn't go, he would regret it for his entire life. Ron thought, 'Now, if it isn't ridiculous, then what is ridiculous?'
After walking for a minute or so, the chauffeur asked cautiously,"Young master, let's go‐". He couldn't finish his sentence as Ron abruptly cut him off,"Huh! Is that a person?! What is he doing so close to the sea.....won't he drown?!"
The chauffeur lifted his eyes to see carefully. Only then did he saw a person's figure a few meters away , already half submerged under the water as he stared blankly into the distance. He didn't notice him before because this person's hair color was same as the sea and his white t shirt almost got blended with the foams above the waves.
The chauffeur cursed loudly forgetting that Ron was standing just beside him,"Shit!! He seems to be committing suicide!! Ah!! young people these days!! Committing suicide at the drop of a hat! Damn it!! Hey, young man!! Hurry and get out of the water now!! Don't be so rash! Life is so beautiful!! Why the....."
The chauffeur continued yelling about life but it was as if those words didn't reach the young man's ears at all. He just kept staring blankly far in the horizon. Ron broke free from the chauffeur's hand and instinctively took a few steps ahead to take a closer look at the person's face. Then Ron completely froze. His pupils got dilated in fright. His feet automatically ran towards the person. The chauffeur also got the fright of his life as soon as Ron broke free from his hands. He screamed and ran after him. Soon he caught his little figure. This time he held him tightly and sternly said," Young master! Please behave! Don't be so willful! Even if I obey your every order, this time I can't. It's very dangerous there! You can't help him! You are just a child! Even I may not-" The chauffeur stopped because he got startled as soon as his eyes locked into Ron's deep green eyes.
Ron at this moment was like a cornered wild beast, cold and ruthless, struggling violently. His deep green ferocious eyes were as sharp as a blade. Such desperate look on such a young child, made the chauffeur's heart shook in distress. But, he still held onto him tightly. Ron turned his face around and watched on as the person stepped deeper and deeper into the sea. His ferocious look changed into despair. Tears flooded his both eyes and rolled down his cheeks. This time, uncontrolled. He started to cry loudly, loud enough to surpass the roar of the sea waves. Now, he only knew one thing. 'That person.....I can't let him die...absolutely not!!'
After all that person was Ethan, the one whom he recognized as his own father. How could he let him leave? His mom left him, his father abandoned him. Now if he left him too...
'No!Never....'
"Please...please save him.....save him.....he can't die.....I...I...beg you...please..." Ron's voice choked.
The chauffeur was already at his wit's end seeing his young master crying so miserably. He was really doubtful that this little ancestor might not have cried so much even at moment when he was born. Then when he saw Ron's prideful little self beg him so desperately his heart broke.
Although the chauffeur sometimes got irritated at Ron's behavior, Ron was the child whom he watched slowly growing up in front of his eyes. Naturally, he developed some affection for him. In his eyes Ron should always be carefree and proud. He didn't want him to bent his waist and beg to someone.
Actually, he also recognized the youth after he got closer. It was the young master's best friend's dad. This young man had a very good heart. And his young master even begged for the first time because of him. The chauffeur sighed and sighed. Today he was sighing really very frequently. He looked at Ron's crying face and then looked at the turbulent waves in the sea. He really didn't want to go. He was afraid that he would be washed away by some violent waves. Actually he was also a little mystified about how the young could stand so steadily against such violent waves so far from the beach. It seemed as if the sea itself didn't wish to let him drown. 'Strange', he thought. If the young man could stand so firmly under such currents why couldn't he? It was just the sea water was freezing cold. As the thought dawned upon him he began to take off his heavy coat while saying in a sombre tone,"Young master, you stay here, I am going into the sea. Don't worry I will definitely save him. But, please don't move from this place."
Ron was a little surprised all of a sudden. He had already gone into despair but didn't expect that his chauffeur actually agreed to endanger his life for saving Ethan. He knew very well that the sea was very dangerous now. He knew that he was being very selfish right now to demand such an unreasonable request. But he was desperate. He couldn't afford to lose that person. So, Ron didn't stop the chauffeur, only nodded his head obediently in a hurry and said,"Alright."
Under the strong wind Ron's soft black hair had already became a mess. His ever so emotionless face had crumbled long ago. His smooth white cheeks had turned rosy red. His eyes swelled a little from crying. Those watery green eyes looked like the prettiest jade, peeking from the dark bangs. At this moment Ron looked quite pitiful but also looked like a normal child who was being bullied.
The chauffeur didn't waste any more time and hurriedly went into the sea. The longer he hesitated, the more dangerous the sea would become. As soon as the water level reached till his waist he felt the strong current that almost wanted to drag him deep into the water. He gritted his teeth and balanced himself as he headed towards Ethan. By this time Ethan had reached into the deeper part of the sea and had already drowned himself completely. The chauffeur had no choice but to dive deep into the water. But, as he neared the young man instead of violent current, he felt the sea became more docile and calm. The chauffeur had no time to look through the matter, he hurriedly swam through the water and grabbed the young man by his hand. Ethan had already lost consciousness so the chauffeur didn't have to meet with much resistance. He swam against the current and finally reached the beach.
Ron sprinted towards them but the chauffeur shouted," Young master, don't come here! let's hurry to the car first. This young man has almost frozen from cold...."
Ron nodded. He hurriedly followed the chauffeur who was carrying Ethan until they reached the car. The inside of the car was warm and nicely heated. The chauffeur stripped him off his wet clothes and wrapped him with a towel as fast as he could without looking much. Although Ethan was a man, just by looking at his extremely beautiful face, he felt a little embarrassed while undressing him. Afterwards they covered Ethan with the thick blanket that they had bought before.
Ron was still worried. Although he knew, he still asked anxiously, " Why is he still unconscious?"
The chauffeur consoled him saying," Young master, don't worry he is breathing normally. He probably lost consciousness due to standing in the cold water for too long and from stress I think. Let's take him to the hospital first."
Ron refused,"No, take him to the mansion. You hurry and call Doctor Jones to stay prepared in the mansion."
The chauffeur paused. Doctor Jones was the family physician of Ron's family. He exclusively treated only the family members of his family. But, now the young master wanted him to treat Ethan, an outsider. He could understand how much Ron cared for Ethan. So, he said,"This.... I will inform the master first."
Ron nodded and spoke after a while, his face, very serious,"Oh, and also tell grandfather to investigate about Moon's whereabouts. Ask him to inquire that actually what happened to them within these seven days."
The chauffeur nodded.
Ron sat beside Ethan at the back. As he observed Ethan's haggard face and the heavy dark circles under his eyes, he became restless.
'What have you undergone to become like this?'
'Where is Moon?'
'Is she safe?'
