Chapter 24 - Anniversary

"Come buy flowers young man... Oh? Shean, it is you. Well how have you been sweetie?" Said the old florist when she recognized me.

I was still halfway across the street and she already knew who I was. She does really have a great eyesight for her age.

"Have you come to buy flowers?" She asked, her daughter came up behind her with a freshly arranged bouquet and put it up in front of their small flower stall.

"Fera, this is Shean a good costumer of mine. Ever since I opened up this shop he had been buying here and still is."

"Sometimes I wonder how you could still remember that but ultimately forget that my name is Sian" I jested which was replied with a small chuckle from the both of them.

"Ah never mind that sweetie, now, I presume you are here to buy flowers for your girlfriend" her eyes was full of mirth then she grinned.

My heart drop at that, and my throat felt tight that I couldn't speak. So i just nodded.

"Then, a dozen chrysanthemum with a rose in the middle." How come she remembers things like this while the other important things are lost deep in her mind.

"I can't help but ask sweetie, what is the occasion? Or have you done something wrong?"

My eyes met Fera and she look apologetic at her mother's words but I assured her with a light smile.

"Actually it's our anniversary"

"Oh, then congratulations"

"Thank you"

"A dozen of chrysanthemum with a single rose in the middle" Fera came and gave me my order which I paid in return.

When I was about to leave the old lady had a one request.

"If it is not much of trouble to you and your girlfriend can you tell her to come by if she ever is free. It's been a long time she had come and I miss her voice. You see whenever she comes without you she sings me a song in exchange I give her a flower. I miss her really, could you tell her please"

I nodded. For I cannot tell her the truth. And when the old lady smiled at my reply it made my heart break more.

'I miss her too' i thought.

"Happy anniversary babe" just those simple words made me cry, as I stood there in front of my girlfriends grave.
