Chapter 12 - Third Person Point Of View

Marcus and Annie secretly hold feelings for one another but both were too shy to say it. It has been like that ever since childhood. But things changed when Annie, greeted him a happy birthday as a friendly gesture in highschool. Marcus took its meaning further and this became a huge stepping stone into developing their relationship.

Eversince that day, Marcus did everything to catch Annie's attention. He greeted her goodmornings and goodnights. He's always the first to give her gifts in special ocassions and took pictures together to celebrate the most happiest moments of his life with her. He was caring and kind towards her which he never was to others.

She was his world.

Annie appreciated all of Marcus' efforts but unlike him, she wanted to keep it casual between them. She liked Marcus but she wants to focus on her studies and she thinks its to early to enter into a relationship.

One day, Marcus finally confessed his feelings to Annie and asked if he could court her. His cheeks were flushed and he couldn't look at her straight into the eyes because of embarassment. That's when she looked at me. The one who had been helping the both of them to come at this point. I was their friend eversince childhood and as a loyal companion, I gave her an encouraging nod that gave her confidence to say yes.

Once I saw how Marcus happily wrapped her in his warm embrace, my heart shattred. I tried to hold back my tears with a smile as I congratulate them.

I also loved him, but I am her friend first. That's why I always stayed in the distant and watch their love story unfold, like a third person point of view.
