Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The day it all started

Sun rays shine through the huge glass window falling upon the curtains and the wooden floor of the room.

The light shine inside the huge room from the lamp lights hanging off the ceiling lighting up the grey wooden furniture in the furnished white office.

Decor was minimal but decent, suiting the taste of certain someone filling the space on the chair.

Rustling of papers could be heard as a sturdy hand flipped through some files underlying few parts as he completely immerse himself in the work.

His desk fiiled up with piling reports some were signed some waiting for their turn lying in a corner. His eye flashes fluttering as his eyes bows down looking at the papers. His pointed arch nose enhancing his symmetrical face.

A cup of coffee was also there untouched for hours now. The room was peaceful just how he liked but would not be for long.

'Trin...Trin... Trin'

Just when everything seems peaceful the telephone on the desk rang breaking his focus echoing loudly in the room.

He frowned and looked at the receiver 'Who is calling on this phone' he thought suspiciously

He put his pen down and leaned back in the chair picking up the receiver. Moving his hands through his slick black hairs making him look majestic.

'Hello... Hello???  Hey brother... Brother??' a high pitched loud voice came through

He pulled the receiver a little further away from his ears to prevent his ear drum from bursting.

'Brother... Hey brother Answer,

I know you are there' the man shouted again

Massaging his temples, he closed his eyes to calm him down.

'Why you think my phone's switched off?

I need no disturbance when I am working' he answered coldly

'Yeah because your phone was off. I had to call you here but that's not important listen brother. I need help, Your little bro need serious help' he kept going frantically

'Shivay stop it.' he ordered

'What you did now?' and asked staring at the receiver.

'I?? ...No lts not me it's grandma and mother!!! They always do this you have to come here otherwise your lovely brother might kill himself' shivay said while pretending to sob

'Shut up. I don't have time for your games' he replied irritated and was about to put back the phone just then shivay frantically pleaded again

'Please you are my brother right??? And you are the elder take responsibility' he huffed

Just then he heard his mother's voice from behind 'Listen Daksh this...' but the voice soon faded. He couldn't hear what she said completely as phone was taken back by shivay.

'Shivay give her the phone what was she saying' he ordered

'You wanna know? Then come back brother. I know you don't have a meeting today so please hurry up' saying that Shivay cut the call

Daksh hold his forehead and stared at the desk for some time. Finally getting up he put the files back in the place always liked to maintain order and grabbed his coat.

Standing up his tall and lean body was clearly visible now. Striding towards the door with his long legs he reached there in seconds opening the room.

Daksh fixed his coat and sleeves as he passed through the assistant's cabin. Rohan saw the boss passing by quickly thorough the glass and ran towards him.

'Boss! What happen? Should I take out the car?' he asked politely.

Daksh looked back 'No you back to work I will drive' and answered

Bowing down to him Rohan went back to his cabin as he was about to enter he remembered something and ran back to him quickly.

Daksh reached the lift and pressed the button but nothing happen. 'Why this lift is not opening now?' he thought

Just then he saw Rohan rushing towards him and guessed why. Assistant reached him and was out of breath

'Boss...' he was short of breath gasping air in quick seconds

'Its under maintenance?' Daksh said 'Right?'

'Yes, Sir' Rohan answered looking up quickly 'So we have to take the staff lift for some time' he said with a weak smile.

'Ok I understand' he answered calmly and call the staff lift which was just few steps away from this one.

'Oh well! Aren't you the one who gave shivay my desk's telephone number' he questioned taking a glance at him.

His cold eyes penetrating Rohan's soul making him shiver. He quickly bowed down in fear.

'Uhh... It was involuntarily' he replied with guilt.

Lift's door open and Daksh entered signalling Rohan to go back to the cabin with his eyes.

Lift starts descending. It was office hour so gladly nobody was using the lift which made the journey easy for him.

Lift reached the last floor and doors opened but before he could get out he heard a girl's loud voice just outside the door with her back facing him blocking his way out.

"...and then she said nodbody will marry you like this" she said loudly just then he noticed that there was another girl in front of her listening to her complaints

'Gossiping right outside the lift, nice' he thought

"I was like... It's for the best I don't like boys anyway but when you say this they are like...' she took a pause and imitated someone she knew maybe

'So you like girls??" she kept going

He pressed the lift's button to stop the door from closing and stared at her back again quietly.

A small girl with shoulder length black hair wearing a biege hoodie, which made her look young like a child. She was standing facing her back to him complaining about one thing or another. Completely neglecting her surroundings.

'A student, here??' he thought. Before he could ask her to move, the girl who was listening to her complaints saw him.

'Finally someone noticed' he thought

He was expecting her face to show guilt for keeping him caged for this long but instead saw fear as she stared back at him

'Naira, Look be..hind' she said timidly
