*The same day*
Fan Lin was returning from the spirit Pagoda's Spirit Ascension platform.
With my doubts being cleared. Now I can peacefully plan my future earnings and Spirit Soul configuration. I didn't get the poison vine soul skill of my spirit soul due to that Petrosapien gift but my Blue Silver grass still gained toxin and better physical stats.
So I now has two route plans: first, I could use the poison type Soul beasts' Spirit soul as my future Spirit souls and increase my Blue Silver grass's toxicity and maneuverability, or I can use defensive and movement type Spirit Soul and choose the control path.
Let's pipe down for a bit. I just got a bit of my memories and I should focus on that.
Then I should decide which path to take after I gain my second Spirit ring, considering the God's words, maybe the Spirit abilities will continue to change. That is completely not in my control.
So focusing on what I can do, I need to become rich and increase my soul power; and the most important, I need to choose a second profession.
Though I still can't decide if I should have a second profession or not. I can ask Wulin and his triad for anything I needed to make. The protagonist group always have the best talents.
And having a secondary profession is bad for me. I am barely able to chew how much my plate has, increasing my workload anymore will just reduce my efficiency and nothing more.
If I got the money, I will outsource whatever I need. That's the best part of being rich anyways.
....
The bus stopped in front of the Eastsea Academy. Fan Lin got off the bus and went towards his dorm. Just like before, he was sharing his room with 3 other people but till now he hadn't even talked to them.
Not many things have changed. I am still busy all day, classrooms in the morning, lunch at the cafeteria during lunch or free time, then the remaining classes. When the school finally ends, need to window shop the black market and sometimes buy something as well.
I am also checking for new materials and information from the various brokers about the situations in different cities and towns everyday as Information is power.
At night I often sneak out of my dorm and start my training to rid the body of excess energy and extra cultivation boost.
My body training takes five to six hours and only then can I cultivate. The remaining energy from my training went towards my cultivation increasing it by a slight amount but is it worthwhile. I have been having these thoughts since the first day. It hadn't changed even now.
As I think about all this while cultivating, morning comes and I once again go on my way to repeat this everyday.
For the past months, I have been wearing out my self be is physically or mentally. Trying to get even an slight advantage but it all changes now that I have been to the Spirit Ascension platform.
Now I have accepted my reality and my current self. Not as Surya Jayvardhan but as Fan Lin. I am kind of free to talk about how great of a achievement it was and that I am, once again, quite proud of myself.
The past was the past. It was something that I wanted to escape from. Surya Jayvardhan comes with the things that I had done.
But after I let go of past and fully reinstated myself as a part to this world, as a possessor of my current body and as an orphaned child named Fan Lin, I feel a little bit alive, so to say.
Not to say, I wasn't alive before. That would just make everything I have done before today seem worthless. I just gained a bit of my self back today. That was it. I still think that all humans should perish if they become a hindrance to the world I imagine.
So not much has changed, except I am not feeling hesitation or doubt as of much.
This freedom of not having the responsibility of my past self was something that I liked. But this also makes me someone who wants to avoid the sins he had committed but I am not. This is not the time to be crying over useless grief of past deaths, I have better things to do.
Plus why was I even getting regrets over something like that. I truly have become stupid since the fragmented memories of my self.
My actions should be that of Fan Lin. Can't revert to my past self. I promise to never revert or use any actions/measure that Surya Jayvardhan or Gloomy Forest would take. Nor do I have any means to do so since I don't particularly have the complete memory of my own self.
"But without violence it, earning money would be hard."
"So just a few times. Just a few. I promise."
That's it.
I consoled myself... since I am alone and lonely 😞.
Hahaha hahah hahaha HA HA HA .
Why am I laughing over this, it's supposed to be a sad omen. But... lonely🥺. Huh?
I should just drown in the lake.
And with a new perspective and better mental health, a year passed in a blink of an eye.
*One year later*
Inside the spirit Pagoda.
Spirit soul pavilion
Fan Lin was here again after one and a half years. This time he was here for his second spirit ring. He need a spirit soul for it.
He reached level 20 just two days ago. In those two days, he was making his plan for another city. He came here only after making sure everything was ready.
"Sir, I just reached level 20 and I need a spirit soul for my second Spirit ring." I asked the staff.
"Of course Sir, let's check your Spirit power level and we will be able to choose a good one for you."
Fan Lin went with the staff to the spirit power checking machine. He plugs the machine on my head. In just a few seconds the results showed on the screen.
67. It was my spirit power after one and a half year.
"Sir you are eligible to have a hundred year old Spirit Soul. May I ask your requirements for the spirit soul."
"My martial soul is Blue Silver grass so I would like ones with poison and maneuverability."
"Let me get the list Sir." He opened his tab looking thing and showed Fan Lin the list.
It had more than 200 spirit souls available.
"Can you add the defective ones" Fan Lin asked the employees.
"Sir there are none. The chances of a defective spirit soul being made are really low. We at this time don't have any in the hundred year old range." He replied.
'What should I choose then? There's Mandala snake, toxic human faced spider and many more. Well what was there to choose from? of course toxic human faced spider was the answer.'
"I choose toxic human faced spider." I answered after a little time.
"Let me bring the spirit soul Sir. Till then you should pay the amount at the counter and get your free room." The staff person smiled as if knowing my choice.
But why did he call me Sir. When I came he was talking casually with the others? And this should be the third time at that.
Fan Lin didn't knew that the card he was using was the platinum card of the Alliance. When he used the money he got from killing a small businessmen, he asked the broker to make the card as secure as possible and gave him 500,000 Alliance coins.
The platinum cards was an example of it. It was the sign of wealth. You need to have at least 100 million Alliance coins just to get the right to own one.
The broker, to fulfill Fan Lin's requirements, found a dead person's platinum card and add Fan Lin as their relative.
The Alliance checks all the cards balances and details and once they found that there was money in the account and the account was transferred to a relative, they just stopped paying close attention to it.
After paying her, Fan Lin asked for his spirit soul fusion room number. The spirit soul was delivered by the staff to his free room. He opened the spirit soul. This was going to be the deciding point of his life.
He started fusing with the human faced spider spirit soul and this time without throwing any tantrums.
*Two days later*
Fan Lin has been fusing with the spirit soul for two days. He didn't know that if not for the heat sensing soul guide that proved that he was alive the staff nearly broke his door to check on him.
Unbeknownst to him though, an azure green spirit ring was floating in front of him. The fusion process was on its final stage.
*Two more hours later*
Fan Lin opened his eyes. There was a shade of yellow instead of his common brown eyes. The first thing he checked after opening his eyes was the new skill information in his mind.
[Due to your Petrosapien gift, soul skill poison web was changed to Petrosapien's Crystallokinesis.
Petrosapien Crystallokinesis: The ability of Petrosapiens to control their crystals to atomic levels.]
He used the skill. Suddenly crystalline shards rose out of the ground in front of him. They were green in colour.
' It looks familiar. Where have I seen this?'
While Fan Lin was thinking his gaze went to his new spirit ring. It was light green.
"Wait a minute. Green ring. Green crystalline shards. Isn't this Diamondhead's ability? He was the Petrosapien?"
" Jackpot then."
A message floated in front of his eyes as he said that.
[ The gift was randomly generated kid, you were just Lucky.
This is a recorded message and your net geek is weird.]
'Hey, wait up. What do you mean?'
With the message, lots of memories came to his mind. Memories of the child that he was supposed to be a guardian of.
'Answer me. What do you mean? What happened to him?'
He remembered that he had once promised to teach him how to cook. Throwing him to the cliffs and beating him whenever he talked bad.
'Answer me. Please , I beg you. Please answer.'
He remembered why that kid was in the organization.
Fan Lin was screaming to the air for a few more minutes however no reply came. Tears once again came to his eyes and now he understood what he regretted.
And weirdly enough, not a single person had arrived at his cubicle despite the weird actions that he was inhabiting. Neither were the camera or any of the devices working. Time seemed to have stopped for them.
After one hour. He had calmed down a lot. He thought about the messages and their timings, each one came just after he gained his soul rings. So if he became a soul elder the message should come again. No it will definitely come.
He forced calmness to his self, shorted out his clothes, ruffled his hair, made the crystal disappear and went out of the room as if nothing had happened.
Time also returned to normal but he was completely unaware of it.
When he went to the reception, the staff was looking at him differently than when he first came. Part of the reason was because he was a head taller and had a different coloured iris than before.
"I caused some property destruction at the free room by mistake. How much fine do I need to pay?"
"Let me check." The staff replied to Fan Lin and hastily went to check the damages as the cameras seem to have shut down a few minutes ago.
'Couldn't he send someone else to check in , why did he had to go in person. Maybe they are understaffed. Who cares.'
"Sir it's 50000 Alliance coins."
The staff returned from inspecting the room and after find that the cameras and sensors were all fine and just needed a quick restart, he heaved a sigh of relief and then he checked the damages on the floor and after determining the rough price, he decided to charge Fan Lin twice that amount.
"Ok"
Fan Lin paid and then went out of the Spirit Pagoda directly took a bus for Eastsea Academy.
The staff gave a deep bow and became the only MVP of the day without any loss. Most of you won't understand this in a long while.
.....
The Academy has holidays for now since the semester ended a week ago.
Fan Lin went towards his apartment which was close to the academy. He opened my door and got inside. The room was still the same except for the slight increase in dust due to the open window.
'I should have closed then.'
It was evening when he came out of the Spirit Pagoda , he had left at 2pm in the afternoon and now's 9 pm, a little bit of calculating and he should have been in the room for 6 hours then.
"That's a little bit too much for 6 hours? Today must have been windy. I will clean tomorrow. I should hire a cleaning service. I am rich!"
Hence Fan Lin went to the bathroom to take a shower since his words didn't make any sense to him at the moment.
...
Now listen guys, all those that thought using third person would be good.
It's not working. I tried to write in third person and it's not that detailed.
You must have read it already.
I don't know, it lacks depth. well my first person pov lacked it as well but... I don't know.
The main thing that when writing in third person, everything revolves around Fan Lin and I can't perfectly express the background.
Must be my writer's block or just poor writing skills. I bet on both.
So I will do one trial chapter and see it doing it in first person pov will change/make it better than third pov.
Although I don't know if what I find good would be something that you would like as well.
Hence comment and let me know.
