Shrek Academy
Ninth trail
The little auspicious emperor was looking at dazed Fan Lin warily. Something was not right about the human in front of him. Something about his expression...
On the other side, the remaining 14 students saw the beast and were debating on what to do with it.
Fan Lin ignored them. He looked at the Three eyed loin cub aka Auspicious Emperor. It was injured and he had gain his mind. A bit better than before as well. His mind was. So was his body. Or it could just be a feeling.
'Well, whatever it was, I don't care.'
And like a bolt of lightning, a new memory was added.
"So I gained this when I am in the ninth test?"
'And wasn't this scenario the highest level challenge reserved for the protagonist. Which person was dumb enough to choose this one for us'.
He thought as he looked at the surroundings and at the little cub. Fan Lin didn't know that the scenarios were randomly chosen. Only Wulin and gang's trial was purposefully chosen by Elder Cai to see their true colours at the time of huge benefits.
On the other hand, Fan Lin was faced with this trial due to a hint of luck and the 14 other participants who were joining with me. Since this scenario tested the self control of the students, having more students naturally meant more chaos and more ambitious students, making it harder for the minor one to stick to his belief without any support. A truly democratic decision of the animals where there was no last man standing. That were always a group.
....
Fan Lin tared at the cub. The cub stared back at him with hate.
Whereas as the 14 students had already divided into two groups. One who wanted to leave the beast alone as showing compassion was the good way (to gain favour points from the judges) and the other which wanted it's soul ring and soul bone for themselves(since it's a Little Auspicious Emperor!)
Except that those who wanted to leave the cub were just three. The remaining were on the other side.
And since we know that the majority is always 'right', a fight broke out.
The cubs attention went to the group.
Fan Lin also looked at the group.
The fight had finished in a few seconds. The three 'good' kids lost.
The majority's attention then went towards Fan Lin, the kid who was the closest to the little lion cub. Fan Lin was also looking at the group.
One of the person from the group arrogantly said," kid, get out of the way. Even though you may be stron...."
He couldn't even finish his words before they died. Their bodies quietly dangled on green coloured crystalline spears like freshly prepared meat skewers.
Fan Lin skewered all of them. Obviously.
Not my first time.
"Take care little one "
He calmly left the cave with his apathetic face. At the cave entrance he saw the mother three eyed lion and then he woke up.
The ninth trail. 9 points. Minus one for lack of participation the events and proactive violence. Overall, I am refreshed.
[This trial must have some mind distortion formation or something]
The tenth trial .
It was the most 'horrific' for Fan Lin. Elder Cai was the one that chose to give her reviews on him.
She politely asked him on what was his thoughts on the Auspicious Emperor( Three eyed lion cub).
"It was fluffy and cute. Didn't want to make it sad."
Then a sudden silence took hold of the meeting.
Elder Cai looked at Fan Lin. Fan Lin looked back at Elder Cai. A few moments later, she said," Fan Lin, you are naive(secondary profession basis), never plans ahead(too straightforward), overly reliant on your second spirit soul(usage reliance), too rationale at unwanted times, don't even know a second profession(once again), takes pleasure in fighting alone and lack basic attention to your surroundings. You score 7 points."
"Okay " [Fan Lin]
'Even though some of her points are wrong, didn't she usually cut points. Or was she like that for Gu Yue only'.
'That geek's method against unreasonable people worked.'
The final trial was over. My final score was 75 points. I was in.
'Now the only thing that was left was to move towards the working students dorm. That was the only place where I can sneak at night whenever I felt like since it wasn't monitored much. I don't have to share my room with anyone as there were a lot of rooms and it was surrounded by a man made small forest. I can train there and lastly, the scent of the forest calms me down.
'I stopped reading the novel by this point so I don't know what was going to happen to the others. I have just read a readers spoilers where they said that Shrek got destroyed and Wulin had the responsibility to rebuild it. I just had to remembered this point after I came to Shrek Academy huh.'
Hence a calm mind to plan ahead is necessary.
I should eat some flowers later.
*The next day*
Today was Fan Lin's first day at school. He had already applied for the working students dorms. You have to be a working student to stay there. So he was a working student from now on.
'Voluntary demotion!'
The opening ceremony was held within the sparkling clean Spirit Ice Plaza which was cleaned by the students. Poor students.
Just like any other academy, Shrek had six grades. Each grade had around one hundred students give or take ten or twenty, and together they totalled a little over seven hundred students in six grades.
There wasn't a podium or stage setup for the opening ceremony. When the ceremony started, however, shivers ran down the spines of the new students.
'Don't do drugs.'
Twenty people slowly descending from the sky, their majestic aura and presence awe-inspiring.
Each and every one of of them emitted a domineering aura that made everyone watching hold their breath.
In the middle of this formation was the figure of Elder Cai, the Silver Moon Douluo.
She wore a dark-silver robe today, her long hair coiled into a bun and her hands behind her while gazing upon the students with awe-inspiring might. Backing her up on either side of her were imposing men and women ranging from their thirties to fifties(not actual age)
'I still don't understand how those old fogeys inspire awe in me. All of them are mind controllers or something?'
My mind is fragile.
Apart from flying-type soul masters, only those with at least seven rings could fly. In other words, all of these teachers had breached the realm of seven rings.
A middle-aged man moved a step forward in the air.
"A new academic year will begin again. At this time every year, Shrek welcomes new blood to our academy. I invite the headmaster of the outer court, the illustrious Silver Moon Douluo, Elder Cai, to say a few words."
Elder Cai floated forward. Her face a mask of indifference, "Shrek Academy has never forced its students to cultivate nor is our education compulsory. There is an annual minor exam and a major one every three years. Failing the minor exam twice will result in expulsion. So, the number of students in each grade will decrease in the next three years."
"For those in the sixth grade who have yet to meet the graduation requirements, I hope you will all work hard and fulfill them before you turn thirty-five. As for our new students, you have the option to relax and take it easy, but then you might not be here in three years."
"Of course, Shrek Academy will not hold back in your education. You can ask for guidance from your teacher and make use of the numerous facilities on campus. Naturally, you must exchange contributions points to utilize them. You new students will soon realize the importance of contribution points."
"Now, on the eve of the new academic year, let us celebrate Shrek's generations of honor and glory, and to many more generations of magnificence. But whether you'll be part of the glory or left on the sidelines in the future will be up to you."
Shrek Academy's elimination system lived up to its fame. Anyone who wanted to graduate from Shrek would have to put in blood, sweat, and tears, progressing step by step until the day they stood at the world's summit.
With the ceremony concluded, the teachers in the air split up, each heading to their respective classes.
Fan Lin was watching all of this. He thought it would have been better he if was standing just one spot away. He was standing just in front of Tang Wulin and Gu Yue was staring at him because he glanced at Wulin a few times.
'Now where is the Black Dragon? He wouldn't cause any issues in here at least for now. Right? I don't know. The future is pretty much grey from me as well.'
Each grade of students were put into a single class instead of several classes. So he had to share his class with these things(the protagonists group).
Suddenly their smiles stiffened. Fan Lin looked at where they were looking. He saw someone. Someone they never wanted to interact with again was soaring through the skies in the four's direction.
Her lips curled into a mocking smile as she locked her eyes on them.
No way… No way. No way!
Yet there was nothing they could do to stop her.
"I will be personally managing this year's new class. Beside me are my assistant teachers, Teacher Shen Yi and Teacher Wu Zhangkong. Now to the classroom." said Elder Cai to the four students.
'Is this what pettiness looks like? Good job woman, keep being the strict disturbance in the life of the protagonist, I am pretty sure you would die when Shrek ends though, the protagonist aura will definitely take care of you.'
Fan Lin slipped through the scene while leaving the pov to the others.
The students entered the outer court's classroom for the first grade, which was on the first floor. I was just following behind them. Now was not the time to stand out.
It was a lecture theater large enough to hold three hundred people. Elder Cai ascended the platform and stood behind the lectern. On the side, Shen Yi said, "Students, please take your seat according to what I announce. Tang Wulin, row one seat one."
[Tang Wulin's POV] - Not the time to stand out!
Row one seat one? I'm the first one called? Tang Wulin suppressed his surprise as he scrambled to his seat.
[Tang Wulin's POV end ]
Row one seat one was neither on the left edge, nor the right, but dead center.
"Gu Yue, row one, seat two!" This seat was on Tang Wulin's right.
"Xie Xie, row one, seat three!" And this was on Tang Wulin's left.
"Xu Xiaoyan, row one, seat four!" She sat next to Gu Yue's other side.
Their seats were the closest to the lectern, no more than five meters apart. They were practically within arm's reach of the lectern and in full view of whoever stood there.
Each of them pulled odd faces once they took their seats. A dark cloud settled over Xie Xie, and Xu Xiaoyan was pale as a ghost. On the other hand, Gu Yue seemed to handle herself better, maintaining a semblance of calm with only her brows furrowed. They all knew Elder Cai had arranged for them to sit in this spot.
Because they had offended the head instructor before school started, there would be hard days in store for them.
Xie Xie shot a look at Tang Wulin, as if asking for the next course of action. Tang Wulin gave him a slight nod, acknowledging his concerns but affirming their lack of control over the situation.
Apart from waiting to see her plans unfold, there was nothing else they could do.
With rest of the students seated, the lecture theater was only one-third full.
"Elder Cai, there should be 102 students in this year's new class, and I've counted 102 students. Everyone is present," Shen Yi reported.
' Did I increased the number or did someone got disqualified because of me.'
That remained a mystery.
...
A small briefing on the Protagonist.
Tang Wulin, a son of a God, the male lead and a crafty but good hearted person(?). Is a glutton and has a dragon in his body.
Hardworking, calm and lucky protagonist, although the luck came in balance and each lucky encounter took something from him.
....
Gu Yue
The female protagonist. Follows Tang Wulin everywhere for foreshadowing reasons.
Quite strong. Can control the elements. Moody and cold towards others.
Nothing much for now.
....
Xu Xioayan
A Lackey of the Protagonists. Part of the protagonist group.
....
Xie Xie
Another Lackey of the protagonist. Better than Xu Xioayan. Part of the protagonist group.
This are the spoiler free intel on the Protagonist.
I will include the Intel's of other people at the bottom as the story progresses.
It helps for some people.
