My eyes flutter my eyes to the brown wood above. Where am I? Still at the barn? My head hurts. As I sit up straight, I touch the top of my head. I feel something kind of warm, I graze my nail against it. Is that a bullet?
"So, it's true."
I look ahead of me. The Purple Cardinal has flames pouring out their eyes and fangs visible. Adoni isn't an old man. He's dress in a black suit with an undershirt from prison. It's black and white stripes under.
Adoni draws a gun from behind him. He aims at me and my face is hot. I don't scream. I know it hit me, but I didn't feel it.
"It can't die." he says and sighs. Another man dressed in a big purple jacket with one tooth shoots me in the arm. I can't feel anything.
"Die!"
"What's--" before I can talk another bullet takes my left cheek. I'm bleeding, but I can't feel a thing. "Stop it! Shit!" I hear a woman with a high pitched voice. "She's a baby!" yells a different one.
That woman I saw with wings, picks me up. She holds me against her shoulders. "What is wrong with y'all! Attacking this poor child!"
"Y'all have really lost it! Like I didn't think you was heartless Adonijah!" Is that his name. "Bitch stand to the side!" he orders. "Fuck you and this whole fake ass church!" the woman's tail swishes, the tail sets the floor on fire and it quickly vanishes. Adonijah steps towards her and holds her neck. "Didn't I save yo ass!"
She chokes. The woman holding me turns but doesn't drop me. This would be a fine time to. "She's a baby!" she yells.
"Corrie, you should know better!" he reprimands. "Put that little bitch down right now!"
"You'll kill her!"
"That's the point goddamn it, PUT HER THE FUCK DOWN"
She holds me tighter. "I refuse!" she stands firmly, "I rebuke…"
And I'm falling with her body. "Stupid bitch doesn't listen at all. All the fuckin' things I do for you bitches and you gather the goddamn nerve to step at me." Adonijah marches to the winged woman's body and kics me out her arms. He stomps on her head. I get under his foot. "STOP!" He stomps on me, his eyes that were flames, are now red. His voice changes.
"MOVE!" something invisble pushes me away and the gang hoist me up. The woman with a tail spits fire at him. He glares at her. "I'll beat you too."
"DO IT!" this is ignant. "SO WHAT IF SHE'S THE ANTICHRIST!"
"Girl have you lost yo mind!"
"I'm fucking sane!" she yells. "You shot a baby!"
"I'm so tired of you and Corrie calling every fucking thing a goddamn baby! Baby this, baby that!"
"Ain't we a family!"
Adonijah turns and blows fire from his lips. "I'm sick of this shit!"
"Pastor! What we do with the--"
"Hang her before we all die!"
What?
I'm confused…
The members pick me up and take me outside. "Put her in the ditch!" commands Adonijah. What ditch? In the backyard it's all black grass like back in Canada. I start kicking my legs, they're too strong for me. "Do we throw her in the ditch with Manolo?" whispers one black man to the next. "Seems evil…" he has the nerve, the brain, to look at me pitful. "If she dies, she dies." he shrugs. I'm a child of GOD!
"But we know the Antichrist can live forever." the nigga breathes. "I could bite her…" he licks his lips.
"You a sick bitch." the one with sense scowls. "Throw her in." There's a massive hole in the ground. Coming out the farm, there is a small hill. We go down the hill and I can see what's it in the hole. My heart stops. I faint.
I saw a yellow beast with two heads at both ends. It had no tail and owned the stripes of a triger. The first head is a man with his eyes closed and the second is a woman with her eyes open and a row of teeth. The female head is trying to move forward but the male flops over and drags her behind him.
They walk on all fours but the female's paws have stockings.
The nigga whistles, "Come here Man-Man!"
It barks and she howls. "I got a kid." they wiggle me and I come to life again. "Don't y'all toss that child in there!" I hear the lady and my mind starts screaming for help.
Would my mama help me if she saw me like this? Her name is Shiloh, right? And my daddy is Dareion. Would they help me? Is this--is this… what's meant to be.
I'm about to die aren't I?
Without hesitation, they throw me in. The male head snatches me by my shoulder. I feel him chomp on my body and the female roars trying to twist around. I can't feel a thing.
I don't scream.
The male spits me out and I limp as I get to my feet. His mouth is strange. I blink my eyes trying to focus. My vision zooms in and out. I back up and fall on my ass; he saunters towards me.
"Kwanini usipige kelele!" he pounces on me. The female head chortles. "Mtoto asiyeweza kupiga kelele ni mtoto bubu."
The male sneers at me, "Wewe ni bubu!"
I can't understand anything. The female towards the male around. He looks back and now the female snaps her jaws at me.
I piss.
"Alifanya fujo!" the female snickers. "Mtoto mbaya!"
"Leave that baby alone!" the lady with the tail races down the hill. The beast circles me, playing with my emotions. I sit on the ground and cry and the male takes my shoe off my foot. "Fanya kitu wewe msichana mjinga!" he roars.
Tears cloud my view, but I see long black pants and a tail. "SIT!"
"Hukutuamuru!" they both yell. "Rudi kwenye ngome yako wewe huna thamani." retorts the female.
I grab her leg with tears escaping me. I wanna get out of here. "Fucking devil thing…" she utters. "SUNLIGHT!" she yells at the ground and the word is on fire. The beast leaps over the word but the fire pulls up catching it's belly. "WALL!" she screams and the dirt shoots up. It circles, enclosing us. The anxiety in me is too much. I scream.
I want out!
"come on…" she beckons it. "Nononono!" I shake her leg in a panic.
Nobody protects me. Nobody looks out for me! Does know I'm here?
It lunges at the lady and she punches it. Her fist in it's mouth. She brings her other fist up, striking it's cheek. The female looks side to side. Can that thing come apart?
I race towards the hill but the barrier. "Yuko wapi!" She must have laid her eyes on me. "Achana naye!" I hear her. "Pata nyama!"
I'm crying as black men stand on the edge of the wall. I jump up, "HELP ME!" One takes his mask off, his eyes are green. "HELP ME! PICK ME UP!" My throat burns. I'm pulled away from the wall and smacked against the dirt. I hear the beast roar loudly as if in pain. "GET IN HERE AND HELP!" the lady screams. "Nini kinaendelea!"
"Macho yangu!" I hear the male. My can't I feel pain, she drags me across the dirt trying to bit off my leg! I see my finger marks in the soil.
I hear a gunshot.
I hear another blast in my ear. It finally lets me go and a man picks me up and I see another, holding my leg.
