My blood is filling the ground. My injury is now open, and I got a new one. I had my guard down for a moment and Tom crushed me in an instant. No, he was just playing around. He can kill me whenever he wants. I'm losing my blood, strength, and even morale. I don't even have the power to stand up on my own by now. Tom is even humiliating me with this mischievous smile on his face.
Is there anything I can do? I don't think so.
"Are you going to die like this?" Bo snapped me out of my thoughts with his calm tone. "I don't care what happens to you or your friends since King Leon will send someone to retrieve me anyway, but is that the matter for you?"
My eyes widen in realization before I clench my right fist on Bo's Grip. How did I let these thoughts drive me away? How pathetic. I forgot the reason I'm fighting. It's to protect both Gerrard and Nuri. I can't let them die.
I could feel the adrenaline flowing through my body as I tried to stand up. I was moving slowly compared to before, but I could stand on both hands and knees.
"So, you still have some strength left, huh? Just surrender, kid you are no match for me." Pointing his sword in my direction, Tom began mocking me right away.
Using Bo as a walking stick, I lean on him to stand up. I could barely stand up even with Bo's help and both of my legs are trembling that I may fall without Bo.
"Surr…ender? .... If I surrendered…., Gerrard and Nuri will die" My voice came out weak and trembling, but my words were clear. "I promised myself…. to protect them… I will never… allow anyone… to hurt them." I locked eyes with Tom making the fiercest eyes I could Muster.
I could hear a clapping sound from behind me.
Looking behind me, I could see Adelphia clapping with her arms on Gerrard's and Nuri's shoulders, and a wide grin on her face that made her upper jaw as clear as the sun.
"How interesting. Looks like you are trying to play the hero rule here." Hearing Adelphia's statement, I stare with wide eyes and heightened eyebrows at the scene in front of me.
Adelphia started to create magic symbols at a terrifying speed. These symbols combined, creating two ice crystals with sharp ends, one in each hand.
These crystals' edges were pointed below Gerrard's and Nuri's chins. "Huh?" Nuri said while jumping back, causing her to bump into Adelphia. Realizing it's of no use she looks up at the sky with her eyes closed hard and her body trembling with fear.
Gerrard raised his head just a little for the crystal to get away from him and looked at me without even a hint of fear.
"Now, can you please protect them, Sir Hero?" Adelphia asked me with a tone of humiliation. She is making fun of me. No, she is challenging me.
It doesn't matter. She is trying to kill Gerrard and Nuri.
My blood began to boil, my confused expressions changed into scrawled and angry expressions, and I clench my fist on Bo's grip as hard as I could.
As if feeling my rage, the atmosphere around us turns as dense as mercury leaving everybody speechless and staring at me with the different expressions of whether confusion or surprise.
Bo's mana, as he called it, closed all my wounds, stopping me from bleeding as it flew through my body strengthening every single cell in it. Bo gave me his powers two times in this fight, but this time it is incomparably stronger.
I stand up, ignoring Tom, and start to walk towards Adelphia.
"HOW DARE YOU LOOK DOWN ON ME?!" Shouting, Tom came charging at me. Rotating only my head, I look at him with the edge of my eye. Tom hesitated for a moment as my fierce eyes pierced through him. Immediately, I turn back swinging Bo in the air diagonally from the ground on my bottom left and up to my top right.
A white blade made of Bo's mana appears out of thin air, taking the shape of the path Bo's blade moved in, charges at Tom with monstrous speed. The blade hits Tom perfectly, causing him to spit blood as he flew with the blade into the forest.
Turning back to Adelphia, I find out that her grin has returned on her face.
"Don't walk it will take a lot of time." Bo looked like he had a suggestion, but I have no time for chitchat. I jump forward in Adelphia's direction with all my might while raising Bo forward.
Dropping the ice crystal in her left hand, Adelphia holds Nuri from the back of her neck and points her in my direction.
This DAMN WOMAN. She is using Buri as a human shield.
"Throw me in the sky. NOW." After Bo's shouting, I throw him up with a flick of my hand and ready myself to punch that piece of garbage since it will be easier to aim than a sword.
"So, you are gonna play it like this?" Adelphia drops the other crystal she was holding and throws both Gerrard and Nuri away, before readying herself.
She moves her left palm along her right arm creating magic symbols all over it. These magic symbols melt into her arm as if becoming one with it. Then, her right fist was clad in ice.
As I try to punch her, my fist is met with hers, causing the air around us to flee. Gerrard and Nuri cover their faces with their arms to protect themselves from the air coming from us, which became cold thanks to the ice fist.
As our attack powers were equal, we both jumped backward and took our distance, when I heard Bo shouting "GREY." He was meters away from the ground now and still falling "Raise your right hand in front of you."
I opened my right palm as I raised it in front of me, to find Bo flying at Adelphia from behind. I looked at my right hand immediately and focused on it to find a mana string, very thin to notice, tied at my hand. The string suddenly turned solid. So that's his plan. He created a string at first so he can move freely in the air, and when he got in the best position, he solidified that string to be able to carry him in the air and began to shorten it to charge at Adelphia from her back.
I can not let this chance be wasted. I charge at Adelphia with full speed aiming my punch at her face.
This plan is perfect if she attacks me, Bo, with pierce through her and if she defends herself against Bo, my punch will get straight into her face.
"You gave me so much fun, kid." Adelphia's grin turns to an evil badass smile.
WHY IS SHE SMILING? FUN?! What the hell is she thinking of? Our lives are on the line, and she is having fun and smiling? She is getting on my nerves. I will beat her until she won't be able to stand up again.
Just when I was about to hit Adelphia, she holds my right wrist with her left hand and deflects it of its path, and use her right hand to hold me from my neck. Now all I have to do is to wait for Bo to pierce through her flesh, but when I look behind her, I find Bo piercing through a huge, thick wall made of ice instead and gets buried in it.
If both attacks failed, then I have no other choice. I raise my right leg upward, pointing it at her neck, and use Bo's powers to make a small white blade of mana out of my feet.
Anyone may misunderstand our positions as a draw, but I'm only tricking her. I can't raise my leg anymore nor can I make the blade any taller since I'm away from Bo.
Hearing thunder sounds behind me, I try to look at the source of the sound inside Adelphia's grasp.
All the rage inside of me turns into horror at the scene in front of me. A huge bolt of lightning is charging towards both of us.
With both me and Adelphia locked in this position right now, unable to react to any attacks, there is no way we can dodge this one.
