Author Note: Hi everyone, sorry for being so late at publishing the fourth chapter. In case you didn't know yet, the first three chapters were greatly edited I recommend reading them. Finally, I wish you are like the new released chapter.
Narrator: Grey Zoria
After I gave up on resisting and let them arrest me one of the guards used the same technique that that kid from before used to made ice handcuffs and then they made us walk in a straight line. Gerrard then Me then Nuri and surrounded us in a rectangle-like formation. Three guards on our left, three on our right, two behind us, and two in front of us.
Although we are handcuffed, unarmored, and even surrendered ourselves they are surrounding us and pointing their weapons at us.
We walked for about 20 minutes and it's getting damn exhausting don't they have any police cars or something?
Finally. We finally arrived at a huge palace after another 20 minutes.
I hope we just finish this as quickly as possible and go rest at home.
Wait a second. I can feel that something is off.
Oh, right. I don't have a home. How the hell didn't I notice till now. That's a completely different world.
I don't have a home, food, or even money. But we would get both shelter and food if we went to jail right?
Damn it. Overthinking will not fix anything.
When I finally came back to my senses I began looking at the palace. It was about 6 meters high and a lot of meters wide, I don't even want to give a number. Its walls are all white with a white dome on the top. We were in front of a door about 2 meters high and about 1 meter wide. When I look at it it's not that different from palaces, I used to see on anime back on Earth.
We entered the palace still maintaining the formation to find in front of us a vast room with a lot of white columns and three other doors one in every direction -right, left, forward-.
We entered the door on our left. After entering we found stairs going upward. We went up the stairs that split up to two, one to the right and the other to the left, and both stairs changed their direction again going to our back.
We went through this long journey to arrive at the room above the entrance. Don't they have an elevator? Or at least normal stairs. We are now in a green room full of paintings.
Ahh, Damn it. It's getting too long I just want to leave.
We now entered another door after walking straight and I find myself in a long room and at the end of the room, there is something that was neither a door nor stairs. It was a huge chair with someone sitting on it and a hooded guy next to him.
No, that's not a chair. That's a throne. The man sitting on it is wearing luxurious clothes, a red mantle, and a crown. My eyes widen with surprise. That guy is definitely a king, but why did they bring us to him? Didn't they say they will bring us to the mayor?
The room was full of people who were standing on both sides of the room making a path for us in the middle to pass.
While walking between them, I could see most of them looking at us with disgust. When we stood in front of the king, or the mayor IDK, three of the guards forced us to our knees "You are in the presence of our mayor personally. Show some respect." After that, all the guards kneed to him while surrounding us.
Since the three of us are next to each other now the guards made two lines one in front of us and the other behind us. One of the guards in the front line began to talk "We brought the people you asked for, your highness." The guard who was holding Bo gave him o the one talking "And we found a sword that was emitting a huge amount of mana with them." The guard stated as he stood up, walked up the stairs leading to the throne, kneed again, and hold Bo upward with his two hands handing it to the mayor.
"So, the crystal caught this sword's mana after all not its wielder. Quite interesting." The mayor said while studying Bo in his hand. "You may go now." He looked at the guard, who left with the rest of his team at the mayor's statement.
Crystals? What does he mean? Did he arrest us because he caught Bo's mana using some kind of crystal? Does that mean mana really exists and with the same exact name we used back then on Earth? This is confusing.
After the guards left the room, the mayor spoke again "Everyone except for Arthur, Thomas Gilbt, Adelphia Brand and the three kids get out of the room." Everyone gets out of the room except for the hooded guy next to the mayor, and two figures who were on our right. A huge man about meters tall with short black hair and a fierce look on his scarred face and a woman with short red hair that fell on her shoulders and a weird smile on her face that I couldn't tell what she was thinking of exactly, But I can't help feeling uncomfortable.
We all looked at the mayor from the ground in hesitation. I don't know what to do. There's no way we can escape, so we have to prove our innocence. Which is something that would get screwed if I opened my mouth, since I may start mocking the mayor without realizing it. When I look at Gerrard, I find him thinking deeply. Knowing Gerrard, he is most likely thinking of a way out of here. Now turning to see Nuri I find her terrified as hell I won't be surprised if she can't talk right now. I feel guilty about her being here and even more for her getting involved in all of this without knowing a thing about what's going on.
"Tell me, kids. Who are you and how did you put your hand on such an item?" The mayor who was still holding Bo in his hands looked at us with a smirk on his face.
Should I intervene? No, I will just make it worse. Then, what should I do? I looked at Gerrard with hesitation, but when he looked back with confidence and nodded, I felt a bit comfortable. I nodded back understanding his intentions. I will leave it all to Gerrard.
Gerrard looks at the mayor with confidence still on his face, before he starts talking "We are the residents of Zoria Island. An isolated island that knows nothing about the outside world but mere rumors." Gerrard just named the island after my family, right? "And that sword is called the White Sun. It's passed away to generation after another of the ruler family of the island." My hesitation and confusion turned into surprise at Gerrard's story, but I quickly hid it before anyone notices. If Gerrard said that to the mayor, then that's the truth.
"Assuming what you just said is true then that means the black-haired boy right here is your ruler?" The mayor looked at me with the same smirk that didn't leave his face since we entered here. That smirk completely hid his actual emotions, which made it impossible to know what he is thinking of.
"Not quite right. He is the son of our ruler." Gerrard answered quickly, which made me wonder when did he have time to think of just a story?
"Oh. Then What is the son of the ruler doing here with his friends?" I don't need to describe him, right? Of, course I don't because he is smirking.
"An intruder came to our village and began to attack everyone using strange techniques that looked like the magic we heard of in rumors. We think he was after the White Sun because when Grey went to fight him while holding it, he ran as fast as he can towards him and when he touched the White Sun a white light suddenly emerged out of nowhere taking Grey, Nuri who was being protected by Grey, and me, who was running for my friends' aid, to this strange place." Gerrard surprised even me. How did he get such a solid story in a short amount of time? No wonder he was a member of the literature club at school.
"I understand." The mayor said slowly with the smirk still in its place "But for sorry, we can't leave such an item to a waste. If you want to keep it, you will have to prove yourself worthy." Everyone in the room was shocked by the mayor's words, except the hooded guy since I can't see his face and of course Nuri.
"How exactly can I prove myself worthy of carrying B…The White Sun." My tongue almost slipped, and I could feel tension from both Gerrard and Bo at my mistake.
I don't know if the mayor didn't notice or decided to ignore what I said as he continued talking "You will fight one of my personal guards using the White Sun in a life-or-death battle."
