Ephesus and the rest are seen walking to Azariah, sweating because the sun isn't taking it likely with them.
"Can you guys tell me why today have to be this sunny?" Colonel, one of the boys that accompany Ephesus, asks as he wipes out a great amount of sweat from his forehead.
"That's nature for you. Got many mysteries"
Ephesus look around the place they're in, trying to notice if there's any gate within sight.
"After Azel, what Kingdom comes next on the map?"
Colonel and Miles quickly open the little bag they have and brought the map out of it.
"Azariah... " Miles said
"After Azel is Azariah" Colonel repeated as they rolled the map back up and placed it in the little bag once again.
Ephesus, honestly, don't want to go into Azariah. Due to the news he he have heard about the King and his Kingdom. How he rules and what he is into with some of his citizens.
"Should we go into Azariah?" Ephesus asks and they all stared at each other behind him.
"God knows whether the place we skip is the place you might find interest. Let's try out this one" Simon, says.
Ephesus reasons with what Simon just said and asked himself why he didn't think of that.
Azariah shouldn't be that far, now that they are out of Azel.
"I just don't get why he is forcing this thing on me. Marriage isn't a priority for me at the moment, Xelilah" I say to my sister, tossing a red dress on my bed in which she is sitting on.
Xelilah chuckle at my complaint like it's funny.
"He's not forcing you, Diane. He just wants to see his grandchildren... "
"Well, he should be thinking of me. I am his child, why does he wants to see his grandchild if he hasn't seen the success of his dear daughter yet" I say. I and Xelilah stare at each other. I, breathing heavily like I just wrestled with some giant that dared me.
"He is your father, Diane"
"I know. And I also know that he is someone that never told us anything about our dear mother... "
Xelilah stands up from the bed and take a step closer to Diane.
"Don't you dare bring our mother into this!" she hushed aggressively
"Why won't I? A mother that never took care of us? And a mini father puppet that is always behaving like mother has the right to kil-"
Before I finish my statement, Xelilah lands on my face a slap. I face my right hand side as she walks closer to me, whispering into my face.
"Mother didn't want us to know that she was
going to die, so that we won't have emotional instability. She died and that's no one's fault. Father did his best to protect her and reverse the death message but it never happened"
I pant as I listen to her. Anger boiling in me!
That's is just part of the truth sister. Don't be fooled just because you gave me a slap and I didn't retaliate.
"Never in your life will you talk about Mother like you did and always do. Is that understood?"
I bit inside my mouth till I tasted blood.
In Azariah, biting inside your mouth and swallowing your blood means stubbornness and not following what you've been told.
"Is that understood?!" My sister repeat.
I smile.
"Yes... " I say and turn to face and stare at my sister right in the eyes.
"But that doesn't mean I won't talk" I say and her eyes widen.
They all know me in this palace, I don't respect anyone in here! Including my Father!
"We both know why I am like this, Sister. Things changes once in a while but mine... " I take a step, so that the tips of our noses touch slightly.
"Is once in a lifetime"
I leave my room with my sister staring at the position I just left. They all know why I am like this!
I was a calm and quiet person but seeing my father and mother embracing their last before my mother entered the sleep that no one can wake up from... It made me feel miserable and not trusted.
Then my father came up with the lie that I don't know where he got from saying that my mother went to the garden and fell while sitting on the....
Argh!
I don't want to think about it!
I punch the wall down the hallway and let the tears that gather in my eyes to flow but only for a while, before I clean it up.
"Mother!" I yell and let the tears to hang on the lower lids of my eyes.
"Please... " I whisper and sigh.
From my own point of view, things will change sooner than I know. I will get married to the most friendly, heart-fufilling person that I always dream of.
Tonight will be the escape night.
"Vilva, how are you all preparing for the journey tonight?" I ask Vilva who is already in a white outfit that looks like an armour but it's just fabric.
"Very well, Madam. We are all set for the journey tonight"
"What journey?" Thaddeus asks from behind.
Diane close her eyes and take in a deep breath. She opens her eyes and ask Vilva to leave.
"Leave"
As Vilva scurries away hurriedly, Diane turns to face her brother.
"Like I said at breakfast yesterday morning, I will be going out for the rest of the night"
"That can't happen... "
"Why?" I ask. My brother stare at me with calm eyes
"Why isn't it happening? And who do you think will stop me?" I ask
He says nothing. I walk upto him but stop beside him and whisper coldly into his ear.
"You want a brother in-law right? He is coming"
I walk pass him to where Vilva might be with the other girls.
Thaddeus stare at his sister as she passes him and sigh.
Even if she is this stubborn, she still have a reasonable reason to be angry with their parents. Because they all know what happened to their Mother. But only she has chosen not to forget about it and start a new life.
She still live on the past.
Which is unlike the girl they knew thirteen years ago.
She is a twenty one year old Princess that do not accommodate pain in the ass for any reason.
Thaddeus know his sister pretty well. She does only what her heart says.
He look forward to seeing the person that will break her into pieces.
And he hopes it is a man.
